I don't get all the Brad Stevens love, sorry.

I get that his roster isn't what we have, but Indiana and Toronto seemed way more prepared.

I mean, damn.

I'm not saying he's an awful coach but all this talk about him being "one of the best coaches in the NBA" is downright laughable.

I honestly can't remember a worse, more embarrassing beat down in any playoff game ... that was sad

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Good start. That said, we need to win 2 more games. No looking ahead. Just focus on the next game. Play like you are down two games to zip.

Incredible game. Like a highlight reel. Getting the next one is tougher IMO because of the beatdown. Need to play past your own potential overconfidence. But they did a lot that was not only right, but also it was better.

I would love to get the broom out again, but expect series in five despite this last blowout.
Seem to have the rotations settling down, say compared to Pacers.

Go, Cavs!

GO CAVS!

The Cavs are gonna continue pounding Boston mercilessly for the Kelly Olynyk injury to Love two seasons ago.

Hey, I think the Celtics should just forfeit the next two games.

Let us make it outta this series with no dirty plays.

That's about my top priority now. Boston, if there was any life in them after the first beat down, has got to be running on fumes and now they come into our house. With the way we've been playing, our crowd will be rocking and that'll be even more of deflation to them.

All it takes is one air ball from a celtics player, and the fans are going off

Just 6 more wins to a 2nd Championship.

Who would have thought that 4 years ago?

I wasn't aware of IT's comments before the game...that puts the beatdown in perspective..I actually think the cavs respect the Cs that much they made it a point to beat them like spacejam

the fact that the GOAT didn't finish in the top 3 of MVP voting despite his best statistical season at an age where most guys are just role players anymore, shows me that the MVP award in the NBA is a joke. IF anything, it needs to be voted on in June after the season. I mean we didn't win a single game lebron didn't play...how is that not the very definition of MVP

I think it comes down to approach...Boston hasn't been here before, they are playing like a regular season game that just so happens to be played in May, they dont understand the intensity required for playoff basketball..Cavs and particularly lebron, they have been here and know it...its why the games are so lopsided. Even if the talent was equal, I'm not sure Boston wouldn't still get swept if you look at how passive they play. They don't have that one guy to be the Alpha and get the team to rally. IT def. isn't that guy.. Hes just another regular season guy who can't play at the level required to lead a team in the playoffs. He's just a loudmouth

Yeah, without Leonard and Isaiah on each team ... it's a sweep to the finals. 1st time ever?

Without a doubt.

In general, the NBA is a joke.

I won't usually come to the defense of the NBA but I think their MVP is simply the player who played the best during the regular season.

I don't think MVP is the right title (award).

Statistically, during the regular season, James was outperformed by a few guys.

But NO ONE in their right mind would pick anyone else during the play-offs.

This. It clearly isnt about who is the most valuable player. In what world would anyone say those players are more valuable than LBJ? If you had a choice, which would you want on your team?

Maybe the NBA just doesnt want to give the awards to the same people year after year.

Because this year might have been some of the best basketball ever by four to five players. Russ & Harden's numbers should speak for himself. But Kawhi is always in talk about DPOY and has offensive numbers that the Spurs haven't seen under Popp. His usage rate is at 31% which is kinda amazing under that offense. I don't mind that LeBron doesn't get MVP credit this season as we have the Finals MVP for this reason.

Isaiah Thomas Ruled Out for Remainder of Playoffs

BOSTON (May 20, 2017) – The Boston Celtics today announced that Isaiah Thomas will miss the remainder of this year’s postseason following re-aggravation of a right femoral-acetabular impingement with labral tear during Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals against Cleveland. Thomas initially injured the hip during the third quarter of the Celtics’ March 15 game against Minnesota, forcing him to miss the next two regular season contests. The injury was further aggravated during Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals at Washington on May 12.

“Isaiah has worked tirelessly to manage this injury since it first occurred,” said Celtics Chief Medical Officer Dr. Brian McKeon. “The swelling increased during the first two games against Cleveland, and in order to avoid more significant long-term damage to his hip, we could no longer allow him to continue.”

Thomas did not travel with the team to Cleveland and is currently evaluating treatment options. A further update will be provided as soon as one is available.

Yep. The NBA regular is more meaningless than the NFL preseason. Hell, in 2018 let's just fast forward to another Cavs vs Warriors Finals.

The Warriors are scary good (and so are the Cavs). It should be a good finals. I'm just not sure how we'll defend them (or them us) haha ... should be fun.

12-0 for both teams going into the Finals is looking pretty likely.

Spurs should just park Kawhi on the bench for the rest of the series. There is no realistic chance of winning 4 straight games with a hobbled Leonard. There's no sense in risking further injury/damage-- repeated foot/ankle injuries are not to be taken lightly.

At least the Spurs had a better game last night, it was watchable.

I feel bad that Leonard can't play, don't know if he'll be back. With him? They had a chance.

Agreed they would have had a chance with Leonard. I have always liked Kawhi's game and his work ethic/attitude. He's one of the good guys in the NBA. I thought Pachulia's play was dirty and not the kind of play that should be part of basketball.

I'm a Cavs fan first but also an NBA fan. I've wanted to watch this Warriors vs Spurs series for three years now because they are such good teams. It's kind of a letdown now.

Anyway, get it over with and let's move on with the trilogy.

no doubt SA takes that first game if Leonard doesn't get hurt...this would be a totally different series with him..its not like Boston losing IT, Leonard is a couple echelons above IT as far as his impact

It really should be a pounding too... let's make it out injury free. That's all I care about.

Yeppers, it certainly is a letdown - just like most of the NFL playoff games were last season.
