I don't think it reflects poorly on the Steelers. They gave us a 6th-rounder, iirc. That's a throwaway pick to see if the change of scenery and culture could help a guy that had the look and measurables of a starting football player. Given our situation with the FO, defensive coaching, and overall culture and attitude... that's not a terrible gamble on the Steelers' part.
We gave up a high first to draft him. We could rattle off the "who's who" of the people drafted after him in round 1, but let's skip that because you get the point.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

I just thought it was funny how bugs made it sound like the media was picking on the Browns.
Sometimes you simply earn it. It has nothing to do with people making fun of you. You drafted suckey players, have a suckey record and people report it.
You get what you give.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

That's the way a lot of people feel these days when facts are reported. Why wouldn't it reflect more poorly on the Steelers who picked him up? I'm scratching my head here. My point was this guy is done why is this news? Another simple story about another failed draft pick. I get Browns deserve every bit. Maybe another report about Manzial drinking.

Free agent? The steelers let him go? Yeah, he didn't even last there six months before they axed him. Swish said it best, what a waste of talent. His NFL career is over IMO. He's done nothing in the NFL except that one INT play. I agree and the fact Gilbert was probably suspended for a PED..(does anybody know?) it shows that Gilbert probably knows his playing days are in serious question. Hope he saved some serious money as he starts his new life out of football. I hate it when I read about guys like Gordon who went out and lived the big life, not knowing that money is pretty easy to spend and hard to make.

He was suspended under the substance abuse policy-- basically the recreational drugs policy. The PED policy is separate. http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ssf/2017/05/former_browns_bust_justin_gilb.html

Your percentages on what NFL agents make is way off. I have read that 3% is the maximum they can make off a players playing contract. Endorsement contracts is different. Maybe up to 10% on those.
The agent and agency is basically the manager. There may be some services fees for legal and finiancial services as an example, but it isn't anywhere near as high as you depict. Players aren't dropping 25% of their money to agents. All things considered, it's probably 6-8%, and those are the big money players. The average player rookie, 3%. Not many rookies get endorsement contracts. Agent rates are fair, to get good representation, and basic advice on life in the big money world.
