So, now she decides to give Pelosi 2 weeks to start an impeachment process against Bush, and if Pelosi doesn't, she's going to run for representative? Someone needs to check her oil, cause she's running a quart or 2 low.

And how exactly does she expect to get voted in?  She has no government history, no political backing and her only positive thing is that her son died in the war. Talk about disrespecting his legacy. You use his death to run for office..very sad. She has no chance of getting voted in and some people just need to keep their mouth shut. Although I disagee with just about everything this woman does, I really think she is doing it as part of the grieving process and I feel bad for her. She is angry, actually a natural and healthy stage of this process. What makes this dysfunctional is all of those liberals goading her on and not letting her work through it.

Someone should shoot this dumbass. I bet her son is rolling over in his grave for her stupidity. Her son signed a contract for his job and he did it. Yes he died, but she is nothing more then a piece of crap and I hope for her a long and terminal illness, and pray to our God she dies a slow and painful death so she will quit spitting on our troops.

I can't possibly imagine what it's like to lose a child in war such as she did. The Grief she feels must be horrendous. On that score, I feel for her.
But many many mothers have lost sons and daughters in time of war. She's not the only one. And there have been questionable wars in the past, so that's nothing new either.
She isn't experiencing anything new. Why she feels the need to be so vocal is beyond me. And to allow herself to be used for the political betterment of someone else is just shameful,,, Shameful not only to her, but on the politician that uses her.

It is new to her and that is all that matters. She is grief stricken and filled with anger (if not hate) because of the loss of her son. I can understand that feel she may not even realize how big of a pawn she really is. She is now lashing out at the on who probably supports her the most (Pelosi) of anyone in Congress. I feel sorry for her and hope she can come to grips with the loss of her son.

She removed herself from being the "Head of the anti-war movement". Not the "Impeach Bush movement". Of course I'm sure you don't see the difference there.

Good for her. Day after day after day, I sit here and watch people whine and complain about the state of our country, the state of our government, etc... and, if statistics are to believed, a good number of those whining and complaining don't even vote. Well here is a woman who feels so strongly about something that she's willing to not only speak out, and vote, she's actually willing to run for office if that's what it takes to get the changes she desires... Oh that others, including myself, could feel that strongly... the change we all say we need, might actually happen.
Keep in mind, I can't say I agree with too much that Cindy Sheehan says, but I respect her for trying to get things done.

That I will grant you,,, you are right, it's new to her. But she isn't alone in her grief, which is my point. She is grief sticken, no doubt about it and as I said, I can't even begin to understand that level of grief. Haven't been exposed to it at all. Closest I've come is the loss of my father to cancer in 1983. But I'm told from people my age that have lost children, that that is a worse loss.
Again, I'm not knocking her for being grief stricken, I understand that and I feel for her.
But the shameful way she is being exploited is something I can't tolorate. Perhaps you are right that she is unaware of it.. But others around her certainly should be aware and I think it's incumbent upon them to speak with her and try to make her understand how some politicians are using her to get to Bush... It's just shameful.
People can hate Bush all they want,,, I don't like him or his policies either. he let me down badly in this term. I'm appalled at some of his actions.
But he's our President and should be accorded some measure of respect. Whether we all like it or not, he was elected by the majority of US Citizens. (I don't care how big or small the difference was, it was the majority)
Mrs. Sheehan hasn't allowed for more blame than just the President.. To me, she is being used. A grieving mother is being paraded around as a symbol of what is wrong with this war.. That's not a fair representation and it's certainly not fair to her..

When someone "decides to run for political office" because their beliefs re so strong they feel compelled to do so.they are not "being used". They have made a "decision" to stand up for "their pricipals".
Wheather anyone agrees or disagrees with her views,trying to paint her as a "victim" is nonsense. Any time one throws themselves into the political arena,they are choosing to bring the spotlight on themselves and their cause. Why blame others for her decision? I'm sure she's fully aware of the circumstances around her. And was well aware of it when she made her "choice" to enter the political arena.

I actually wasn't addressing her potentially running for office.. Just in general, I feel as if she is being used. But you are correct on if she runs for office.. Then the whole thing lands squarly on her shoulders for sure.

Wouldn't you say giving Palosi an ultimatum in a public way is "throwing herself" into the spotlight? I guess that's my point. The "public,press and others" can't really be accused of "using someone" who brings such attention to political matters to the media and the public to begin with can they? I mean hasn't Shehan pretty much "sought out attention" for her causes? I don't see that as "using someone" when they pretty much make themselves spokespoeple for the very causes you claim she is being "used" for.

You know Blade,there is a different "context" in which that could be taken. But then,it probably won't be accepted by you. But I didn't see Ire describe or indicate anything about being "tough" or "fighting" or anything of a "violent nature" whatsoever. Just meet him "face to face". Now where is that a threat or even indicate anything of a violent nature? It doesn't. How does it indicate he's a "tough guy"? It doesn't. I've had "face to face" meetings with many people on this board. Some I agreed with on this board and some I didn't. Some acted EXACTLY as I'd picture them on this board and some didn't. But most often,those who pounded their chests the loudest,were far different in person than those who don't. And the only way to find out? Is when you meet them "face to face". And guess what? I've never had a violent encounter with any of them. But you can make more out of it than what he said if you so desire. JMHO

The back is doing fine! Thanks for asking. And I do plan to be at a few games. Of course I'll be visiting DTI when I go to those games. I'm sure there will be threads about who is going to be there.
