Good signs for the Indians season:

The Tribe is only 1 game back.

By far the best team in the majors is Houston. (41-16)

Houston has only lost 16 games this year. FIVE losses against the Tribe!

Cleveland is 5-1 against Houston this year.

You may recall Cleveland swept the ‘stros in Houston less than a month ago.. (The Astros are currently on a 10-game winning streak).

The Tribe is doing fine. And Francona coaches to have his team playing their best come September.

Man, the Tribe runs hot and cold this year at the plate.. they'll go for 1 run, 0 runs, then 10 runs, then 1 run again... hard to figure out.

I believe.

I believe once we hit those dawg days of summer, those Indian bats (and pitchers) will heat-up nicely.

Current rotation:

Corey Kluber
Carlos Carrasco
Mike Clevinger
Trevor Bauer
Josh Tomlin

So what’s the over/under on Tomlin’s season? Forget that - on his career.

The bad thing would be to think Tomlin in the starting rotation means Francona has no better option. Which of course is the case. But, keep in mind we’re talking about Francona’s opinion here.

Francona will not make the mistake of bringing a pitcher with major league potential up before they’re ready. So he’ll stick with Tomlin until he has a viable option. Francona is very good at developing young talent.

And he always manages for September.

Francona is a genius.

By the way, the world champion Cubs are currently a game UNDER .500.

I like that Tito is so cool. The Tribe right now has the second worst batting average in baseball with runners in scoring position and Tito's opinion is, "Well, that can't last forever, it will come around."

The Tribe is slowly climbing out of the basement for overall average but still having trouble getting the timely hits....

Wow.

The Tribe has 18 games in the next 16 days. (two Saturday away doubleheaders - @ Minnesota and @ Detroit)

7 home games, 11 away games

This is a tough stretch. The Indians toughest stretch of the year - as long as there aren't a lot more makeup games in September.

Me too. I like them better with the dark blue batting helmets than the powder blue hats though.

EE having a good day. Two homers and an RBI single. He's slowly becoming the guy we needed in the middle of the lineup. Everyone else needs to wake up a tad.

Clutch outing by Bauer today - he was dominating until he ran out of gas after 7. If he's throwing strikes, his stuff is electric. Could he be that #3 starter we all thought Salazar would be?

quote above by lead:

"good god i feel bad for the O's right now"

NNOOOOO!!! Take it back.

The Orioles have pasted the Tribe the last 2-3 years.

Indians have are 2-10 against the Orioles the last two years.

I hope we beat them so bad their great grandchildren are born dizzy.

Well, this was a good game to educate my girlfriend on with baseball. We're headed to the game a week from today against the Rangers! It'll end up as her first ever MLB game.

She comes from SE PA, but she carries no allegiances to any team.

I wonder what is wrong with Lindor? I don't remember him going through a stretch like this at any point last year.

I'm glad JRam caught fire again. He's a beast and playing better than last year. Him and EE are crushing it right now.

Wow! What a gem by Klubber! 3 hit shutout. No walks and ELEVEN strikeouts (3 in the 9th too)!

Oh yeah, 12 runs for the offense as well. thumbsup

JRam and Encarnacion are really rounding into form, and the pitching has been strong since Kluber came back from injury.

Oh, and let's not forget how Ziummer has stabilized CF, and he's also hitting .300 since joining the Tribe.

Also, Brantley has returned to form as if he's never missed any time at all.

We have to get Frankie back to form. I suspect that he's trying to hit HRs right now, when his game is spraying the ball all over the place. I think that he'[ll get things back together.

Let's go Tribe!

Excited about going to the game tomorrow. First time seeing Camden. I wanted to go tonight, but was leary because of the rain report. Figures we score 12, lol.

Seats are 3 rows behind the Tribe dugout. I might drive up to the game Wednesday too. Just depends how "fun" driving through D.C. is during rush hour.

That's awesome Rocket, I'm sure she will have a great time. Cue the RO tribe winning streak!

This is exactly his problem, he had some success with the long ball early in the season so he thinks he's EE, he just needs to go back to being a contact hitter and he'll be fine.

in typical Tomlin fashion, gives up way too many long balls, and in typical tito fashion, left him in too long...Tomlin can't pitch at this level

Well, we survived the "dreaded June swoon" of my youth. Stick a few more losses on the Twinks. Go, Tribe!

PS I still love Chief Wahoo!

I hate to second-guess Tito, but have we seen enough of Daniel Robertson (this year's Michael Martinez) yet? We're platooning the best prospect in our system - Bradley Zimmer - even though he's hit .273 against lefties (.308 overall). Robertson, the plucky little utility guy, is 1 for his last 20 or so, and struggling to stay above .200. Play Zimmer, Tito.
