If we are going to compete in any games in this series, we need the big 3... not the bit 2 1/2. In game 1, Love had 15, in game 2, Kyrie ended up with 19 but had about 12 when they pulled away and it was over. Love is playing very hard and getting rebounds and such... but all 3 of them have to score. If we aren't going to stop them, then we have to score with them and to have any chance at that, we need all 3 of them scoring.

With 9 minutes to go in the game before GSW blew it open, LeBron had 5 more than Durant, Love had 6 more than Klay... and Curry had 15 more than Kyrie. We absolutely positively need Kyrie to have those 4 or 5 minute bursts where he's unstoppable and he hasn't really had that yet.

Durant just puts the Warriors at another level offensively and defensively. It's really not fair, but it is fun to watch. He fits the entire team so well on both sides of the ball. They traded Andrew Bogut and Harrison Barnes for Kevin Durant. That's insane.

Do you guys think the Magic would trade Bismack Biyombo for Draymond Green?

Durant just puts the Warriors at an unreachable level IMO. They are the best basketball team in the history of the sport. There isn't a team I can think of that is better.

I know it bothers you that people think Green is a jag on any other team. The Biyombo comparison was a bit harsh, but I agreed with it because I like getting under the skin of GS fans (cue your post where you tell us you're not a GS fan). See my use of parentheses there. I learned that from the cfrs school of posting. Did I do it right? Make a statement where someone can draw a conclusion from what I just said, but get in front of it by contradicting that conclusion with a disclaimer in parenthesis. It wasn't an exact match but I'll work on it.

Green's best basketball play is the scowl and argue. One of the Cavs defensive strategies is to let him shoot the ball. Its a sound strategy. He hustles, is fairly strong on the glass, and is a decent defender. None of those three things is going to get him much on a team that doesn't play like the Warriors, which is no other team in the league. Take the back door pass to Durant late. Durant back doored LeBron. Green got the assist. It wasn't a dificult pass. It required a little bit of patience and and a little bit of smarts. But mostly it required Durant.

Green reminds me of the guy in pickup basketball that is good enough to be physically present with the other guys but isn't going to be the reason for any wins. If he's fortunate enough to get on a good team, he'll be very demonstrative and would like everyone to believe he's good through those demonstrative actions. While the guys waiting for next are rolling their eyes, laughing, and talking behind the guys back.

He's a perfect fit on the Warriors. He can afford to play the same way every night because the rest of the team is going to fill in the blanks. And the things he brings will be accentuated because of the skills of the rest of the team.

Now do me a favor. Take a picture of your Green jersey and post it for us. Come out of the closet already! Btw, did you post much in the basketball thread last year after the Cavs came back and you couldn't talk up GS?

Still a ways to go, but it isn't looking good.

Just go out and win the next game.

--Golden State is an awesome bb team.

--The officiating is a factor. We were getting hammered inside w/no calls and they were getting touch fouls. It changes the way you play offensively and defensively.

--It's irritating to see the "blow up the roster" posts. We've been to 3 straight Finals and won at least one of them.

--One other thing about the officiating. Great teams have always gotten the calls. The Celtics got more calls than anyone when they were great. The Lakers and Bulls used to get all the calls, too. However, superstarts [other than Shaq at times] have always gotten calls. LeBron is getting hammered at the rim and they call nothing. Then a guy like Curry jumps into Smith and they get the call. It's disappointing to have the refs having so much of a say in how the games are being played.

Couldn't agree more. What he's doing for them on offense and defense is exactly what I predicted would unfold when they announced the signing. He's getting the ball to all his shooters, awesome defense, he's schooling anyone who guards him and it's just a back breaker when you factor in the other elements such as a Klay, Green and Curry.

I feel bad for those who dropped big bucks on finals tickets, because they're going to come here and destroy us.

one thing I've always disliked about officiating in the NBA: the small guy gets the calls, while the more physical guy gets hammered. Both guys might get hit the same, but because the big guy can withstand the blow he gets no call.

Yep. Draymond is one of those guys who is great at doing the little things, the scrappy things.... Kind of put him in the Dennis Rodman class.... but the only way that looks great is if you are on a team where other people are doing the big things, like scoring. If you put him on a team without 2 or 3 very good scorers and he just looks like a nuisance.

I agree. If TT hit Curry (which I wish he would) the way LeBron got hit repeatedly, TT would be ejected and Curry would break in half. Contact is contact whether the guy is 215 pounds and goes flailing to the ground or 260 pounds and plays through it to get the shot off.... and should called consistently. It's also funny how if you skim the finger of a 3-point shooter, it's a foul... if you bang against and hang on a person driving to the basket, it's not a foul.

Draymond got more first team votes this year than Curry and KD did combined.

I keep thinking how fortunate we are to have won last year. Could you imagine how depressing we'd all feel if we would have lost last year and then had to face this team??

I haven't seen anyone comment on the officiating anywhere besides this board. My bet is that the Cavs end up getting more calls when they are at home, that's usually how it works in the NBA (https://pudding.cool/2017/03/home-court/)

I feel like I've been remarkably cool this Finals. I know it's because we have a 2016 Finals and I feel like I'm playing with house money (Or I'm sort of hoping for a 2016 role-reversal with the Cavs getting runner up and the Tribe winning it all). Part of me feels bad for Lebron though because now everyone will rip him for losing 5 Finals, but Jordan never had to play a team like this.

And this is exactly why we have a team like the Warriors. The media makes Championships the be-all-end-all to all sports debates, so I can't really blame players for taking small paycuts and stacking rosters like they do. Durant probably would of stayed in OKC, but media pundits were calling him a "non-great" player because he couldn't win a Championship. Like it was his fault he couldn't beat a stacked Heat team. So he went out and created a stacked team of his own, just like Lebron had to do for the same reason.

If the media wants to whine about boring playoffs they have themselves to blame.

I know it is hard for you to understand, but I am not a Warriors fan. I am a basketball fan (if I had to choose a team it would probably be the Clippers). I literally just root for good games at this point in the year (if anything I lean towards the Cavs because I like most of the people on here and it would you guys happy for the Cavs to win).

I'm just thankful you aren't a Lakers fan being from Monrovia. You would be completely insufferable then.

I don't think so. Technically they could have done it, but I don't think he goes there if they win two straight. I think he ends up on Boston or San Antonio.

I'd guess no, but who knows. Quite honestly, I thought it was a miracle we beat GS as it was last year. Even if they have the same team back, it'd be tough to beat them.

Probably, because he desperately wanted a ring and GS had the money.. neither of those things would have changed if they had won last year. It would have just been an even worse look of stacking the deck.

IIRC, Harrison Barnes was basically traded out (with a few smaller pieces) in order to get Durant. Pretty good tradeoff.

We may have been down 0-2 last year, but GS didn't have Durant either. Big difference in my opinion. WAY tougher hill to climb this year.

Last year I didn't feel hopeless when we returned back. I didn't feel confident, but I also didn't feel like we couldn't beat them.

This is it in a nutshell. GS is a dynasty if they all sacrifice and stay together...they could win 5 in a row if they want. Atleast we got 1. Only chance anyone has if they get a few injuries.

I think it is the normal horrible NBA refereeing. I don't think either team is being favored purposefully. Things should swing back in the Cavs favor a bit once they are at home.

The Warriors also play very aggressive, they constantly have their hands on guys. I think that level of aggressiveness becomes the norm and they aren't called for some fouls other teams are called for.

It's not even "each side"... it's Curry. 9 guys are playing by one set of rules for playoff officiating, then there is Curry, who you are not allowed to touch... at least last night.

Remember how the year before LeBron left, in the playoffs some people said he "tanked" against the Celtics so we wouldn't get to the finals thus making it easier for him to leave?

Remember last year when OKC was up 3-1 on the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals before losing 3 in a row in which Durant shot less than 40% from the field and only averaged 7 rebounds and 3 assists during those 3 games?
