A long, successful career. If he wants this to be the time, good for him

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Talk about being intimidated by a trip to the Shoe!

Chicken.

Doesn't want to face the Buckeyes September 9th.

Oklahoma has been the powerhouse of the Big 12 for ~ 18-19 years. Ten championships since 2000.

Yeah, probably wants to spend some of that $5 million+/year salary he's been making.

I can't wait to see who the next Sooners Head Coach is. (Is Jim Tressel available?)

I don't recall any talk of him retiring before. Was he hinting at this for awhile?

It almost seems like a health related issue or perhaps an upcoming investigation of the program.

I don't remember the guys name but Stoops has already been saying one of the coordinators is being promoted to HC.. they aren't going out to look for a big name.

According to what I saw, he was telling recruits for the last year that he was retiring so they knew who their coach was going to be. Pretty stand-up move. Hard to believe all of those kids were able to keep something like that a secret... our government could learn a lot from them.

This is a surprise... As others have said my first thought was he didn't want to come to the shoe... Truthfully though I plan on retiring as soon as I financially can.... Who wants to work until their 70?

Good for him,,, solid coach for a number of years and leaving the program on a high...
