welp, straight from the horse's mouth. Again, i SERIOUSLY hope all we are dealing with is a gullible ass dude who got played by the people he surrounded himself with, and not an intentional traitor to the USA.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/trump-i-am-being-investigated-132731394.html

President Trump confirmed Friday he is under investigation for firing FBI Director James Comey.

In a series of tweets, Trump lashed out against the investigation into whether his campaign colluded with Russia to influence the 2016 election. The probe has reportedly expanded to include whether Trump fired Comey in an attempt to obstruct justice.

He also claimed that the person investigating him advised him to fire Comey, though it’s unclear whom he was referring to. Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from the investigation and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein appointed Mueller to oversee it in the wake of Comey’s ouster.

When Trump fired Comey, Rosenstein drafted a memo accusing the FBI director of bungling the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server and Sessions wrote a letter saying the dismissal was warranted. Mueller has not made any public comments about Comey.

Until Trump’s Friday-morning Twitter burst, only the Washington Post’s sources had indicated that Trump was being investigated for possible obstruction of justice.

The missive was the latest in an ever-escalating tirade targeting the Russia inquiry.

Is Yahoo an actual source or are they just an aggregator of news? Every time someone links to a Yahoo article on here, it is some of the most biased nonsense around, right up there with CNN and HuffingtonPost.

Anyway, Sessions made a mistake in recusing himself from this investigation all those months ago. I believe he did that in good faith with the expectation that good faith would be shown in return. How did that work out.

Who cares? What matters is what trump said in his tweets. Which are official presidential statements, BTW.

So I don't understand who it's biased for yahoo to make an article out if trumps owning statements, which you didn't even comment on.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller Investigating Jared Kushner’s Finances

https://www.yahoo.com/news/special-counsel-robert-mueller-investigating-141854241.html

A team of investigators hired by special counsel Robert Mueller to probe Russia’s campaign to influence the U.S. election will look at the finances and business dealings of President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner, according to a report.

Mueller is in the preliminary stages of his probe and has recruited a team of top investigators experienced in money laundering, campaign finance violations and organized crime in Eastern Europe.

U.S. officials familiar with the investigation told The Washington Post about its financial focus Thursday.

Kushner has not been accused of any specific crime. The finances of Trump’s former campaign chair Paul Manafort, foreign policy adviser Carter Page and former national security adviser Michael Flynn also are being investigated by the FBI.

Mueller, a former FBI director appointed by George W. Bush, was hired to lead the investigation by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein on May 17. Other probes of Russia’s election interference are being carried out in Congress.

These investigations are looking at Kushner’s meeting with Russian intelligence-connected banker Sergey Gorkov in mid-December and Kushner’s attempt to set up a back channel between Trump and Moscow through a Russian diplomatic building that same month.

Gorkov’s state-owned bank, Vnesheconombank (VEB), has been under U.S. sanctions since 2014. The sanctions were imposed following Russia’s forceful annexation of Crimea from Ukraine.

VEB said Gorkov met with Kushner in December as part of the launch of a new strategy in a series of meetings with “representatives of leading financial institutes.” The Kushner family's real estate firm owes a $1.2 billion debt on a tower at 666 Fifth Avenue in New York City and is looking for investors. The loan is due in 2019.

“It would be standard practice for the special counsel to examine financial records to look for anything related to Russia,” Kushner’s attorney, Jamie Gorelick, told the Post in an email. Gorelick pointed out that Kushner has volunteered to speak with the Senate Intelligence Committee, which is leading one of the congressional Russia investigations.

On Thursday, Deputy Attorney General Rosenstein issued a statement that "Americans should exercise caution before accepting as true any stories attributed to anonymous 'officials,' particularly when they do not identify the country—let alone the branch or agency of government—with which the alleged sources supposedly are affiliated.”

A spokesman for Mueller, Peter Carr, told the Post that special counsel “has undertaken stringent controls to prohibit unauthorized disclosures and will deal severely with any member who engages in this conduct.”

Lmao it's funny how trump deflects to Hillary. Might as well be one of you trump supporters on the oval, as y'all can never address the issues as it's own problem and gotta bring Hillary into it.

Trump needs to take some damn responsibility for his actions.

He has nobody to blame but his damn self. What happened to the party of accountability and personal responsibility?

Lol, sounds good. That's about it. Never actually practiced in real life though. Always someone else's fault.

How much is it actually deflecting to Hillary? Her and Trump were the two major Presidential candidates. Both have been tied up with Comey in various ways. It seems like a legitimate point to compare how each have been treated.

Look at how one of them destroyed phones with hammers, deleted over 30,000 emails (emails which were ordered to be preserved) via a program called BleachBit so the FBI could not retrieve them forensically, the meeting between Lynch and Bill Clinton (who had formerly appointed her as a federal attorney), etc. The DNC wouldn't even allow the FBI access to the servers that were hacked. The FBI had to go through a third party to get the data. How are those things in any way comparable to asking for some minor procedural things to be let go for a friend?

You want to talk about obstruction? Destroying evidence is obstruction. You want to talk about collusion? The funny thing is all this talk about collusion largely relates to Wikileaks, which showed over and over again how the Democratic party is in collusion with the mainstream media. It's funny how you don't hear so much about that in the media... go figure.

But whatever... he's just digging a hole bigger and bigger with tweets.

I'm going to give you the same answer you give.

Where's your evidence? If she actually destroyed evidence, she would've been charged, correct?

At this point the hillary comments is nothing more than a boogeyman in the closet used by you trump supporters to scare/deflect.

At the end of the day, here's the facts:

1. Hillary isn't president
2. Comey didn't charge her with anything
3. Trump is president

And 4: this doesn't change the fact that Hillary is NOT the reason why your boy can't keep his freaking mouth shut on twitter. Hillary didn't make him use twitter like a drunk at 2 in the morning.

Hillary isn't the reason trump and the rest of the sleaze balls are under investigation.

^^^^^ fact.

So stop deflecting. This is about trump. Nobody else.

No. This goes back to that press conference where Comey laid out Clinton's crimes and wrongdoings and then strangely recommended against charges. You can also look back to Paul Combetta aka stonetear, the Clinton IT guy who anonymously posted on reddit requesting info on how to tamper with information in emails, etc. IIRC, he got immunity, one of many curious decisions in that case. But anyway.

Fine by me. You still have no evidence that Trump colluded with Russia. None, nada, zip, although in fairness, the investigation hasn't been completed yet. Stay tuned though, it could be finished any year now.

Now I suppose there's an investigation into firing the FBI director... the same FBI director that many Democrats demanded be fired only a few months ago. I guess the timing was all wrong on that or something.

You mean the FBI director they claimed was being fired by how he treated poor Hillary until Trump admited that was a lie and he was going to fire Comey no matter what?

You can't seem to wrap your mind around the fact that they just keep lying.

From the Washington Compost:

https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/the-...m=.c29edb539e4c

Clinton IT guy's "anonymous" post on reddit:
Quote:
“Hello all,” one of the posts begins. “I may be facing a very interesting situation where I need to strip out a VIP’s (VERY VIP) email address from a bunch of archived email that I have both in a live Exchange mailbox, as well as a PST file. Basically, they don’t want the VIP’s email address exposed to anyone. … Does anyone have experience with something like this, and/or suggestions on how this might be accomplished?”

That would be obstruction! At the very least, it points toward acting in bad faith.

I think this whole Russia/firing FBI director thing has been a huge witch hunt, and I've been saying that for the last several months. There's still no evidence so I'm not sure why I'd change my mind on that lol.

You're usually pretty good about making a point how there is nastiness on both sides and how sometimes even politicians on both sides are treated unfairly. That may have even been the case with Clinton. It's definitely the case with Trump... you should be able to see that.

Regardless, I'm serious when I say I hope it's just some losers like Flynn who decided to take advantage of trump, and not trump himself intentionally doing this.

Easily to forget the reason there is an investigation into this is because Flynn, Sessions, and Kushner, all withheld info about their contact with Russian dignitaries. So stop acting like this is a witch hunt. They brought this on themselves.

Neither of us has a clue whether there's any evidence or not. We won't know that until the investigations are concluded and those conclusions are revealed. There has to be some reasons why all of these investigations are going on.

What I find so puzzling is that it's a GOP led Senate, a GOP led congress and a special counsel who was appointed by this administration leading these investigations. Yet you all seem to wish to describe it as a witch hunt. Are you saying the GOP is on a witch hunt against Trump? Because it's the GOP that's leading these investigations, not the Dems.

I will be the first one to tell you that I am not the sharpest crayon in the knife drawer laugh BUT I have managed to get along with 98 percent of the people on these boards while still getting my point across.

It seems like you are more caught up in the day-to-day specifics of the case than I am. I'm under the impression that these conversations could easily have been typical conversations carried out in their normal course of business or Congressional duties, and there may not have been any reason to remember them months later.

If I'm mistaken on this, can you provide some more information, like the names of the Russians they talked to, and what the conversations were about? (I assume at least some of them were recorded.)
