Still want answer as to how this is a witch hunt when his own party is leading the charge against him.

Haus dodged that part of pit's post.

Whether they were typical conversations or not, you don't find a large group of people who just conveniently forgot they all talked to the ecxact same person.

Some of them, including Sessions, were required to report any and all conversations with members of foreign governments when they were vetted and refused to report it. Sessions even lied under oath about having any conversations with him.

Once the conversations that Sessions had with him were revealed, he admitted to those conversations.

It's no wonder people have questions about it. Surely you don't believe that in 18 cases known so far that they all just conveniently forgot do you?

It is probably better that somebody else responds to this. As I said, I haven't really been keeping up on the day-to-day details on this as it's gotten old hearing the same baseless accusations for the last year. If what you wrote is accurate, then that would certainly imply something fishy going on.

It would be really helpful if we knew what the conversations were about. We hear these liberals go on and on about treason or some other words they don't really understand, and what they come back with is some procedural things against people close to Trump... not even Trump himself. meh.

I can't respond to every single thing and I honestly missed that one, although he has mentioned it before. Just a general comment: just because almost all Democrats are terrible, doesn't mean Republicans are necessarily good

We can't always get people to respond to what we want to. I personally find the Wikileaks releases to be fascinating but they're old news at this point. It's the new world; many people need constant change, novelty, excitement and old stuff just won't cut it. The reason I bring them up is because the irony is so strong with liberals constantly blaming the Russians for meddling in the election, by releasing emails that showed the media/Democratic party meddled in the election.

You can't blame the media or liberals for the reason the trump administration decided to get involved with the Russians.

You're basically saying you're mad that the media is doing their jobs and reporting on corruption. How dare the media do their jobs!! The audacity!!

You're begging the question. You do not know if Trump "got involved" with the Russians because the investigation is not complete and evidence, if there is any, hasn't been made public.

Media doing their jobs... lol. Swish, what I see on CNN, MSNBC, HuffingtonPost and the like is about what you see on Fox, Breitbart, and DailyMail. It's two totally different worlds, it doesn't mean either side is necessarily wrong but you'll normally only get one side of things.

Media doing their jobs... deserves another lol. Yeah it was CNN's job to leak debate questions to the Clinton camp on multiple occasions before debates against both Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump. It was the same station's job to give some of the most slanted reporting, like literally changing one of Trump's quotes and trying to pass it off as him actually saying it in an effort to sabotage him.

Do you even remember all the stuff that was released? From various members in the media pledging their support to Hillary Clinton and to do whatever it takes to defeat Trump, to letting the Clinton camp review and "suggest" edits to stories before they ran, and various other courtesies that would NEVER be shown to Trump. Here's a question for you, when us right-wing types point out about bias in the media, do you think we're all just making it up? Do you actually think there is nothing to it?

You still can't keep hillary's name out of your mouth? Did she dump you too? You and Arch never had a chance, bro. It's ok, let it go. There's plenty of other options out there.

Yes, the media is doing their jobs. Just cause you don't like the fact that they're reporting on your boy means what to me?

Nothing.

Trump under investigation. Flynn under investigation(s). Kushner under investigation.

Yea, nothing to see here.

It seems like you do not fully grasp the situation, because while you feel it is a deflection, it is actually directly relevant to the conversation.

Mainstream media, or at least non-Fox mainstream media, has been vehemently against Trump for about the last two years. The preferential reporting given to Hillary is evidence of this just as much as the slanted, nasty coverage of Trump is.

How can you even say with a straight face that coverage of Trump can be fair, when prominent members in the media pledged their support to his only serious political opponent?

Let me guess, you thought that was all just a big right-wing conspiracy theory.

What are you talking about? Have you even watched Fox News lately? They are going hard in the paint on Trump. Even they are starting to blast him on a consistent basis.

The only person in this discussion who can't grasp the situation is you.

I haven't watched Fox much lately-- a few minutes here and there while flipping through the channels. It's often in the evening and ends up being during Tucker Carlson's show. I haven't really noticed what you're talking about, but if you have been watching Fox and say they are going hard in the paint on Trump, I'll trust your judgement on that.

Where is the empathy?

Selective empathy is just another indicator of the hate and bias that pervades both sides. If you can not be empathetic towards all, then you are truly not an empathetic person.

Of late, the empathy (on a national or social level) seems to only come out after the extremes of tragedy... and even then, it has a shelf-life of about 1-2 weeks.

Here at DT, I think your quest for empathy and unity won't find much traction at Palus Politicus. It's the wrong forum for it, because PP has taken on the same persona as the Smack Shack (it's why I slowed up my dialogue-based op-ed type posts some months ago).

The empathy you'd like to see can be found in EE:

whenever a fellow Dawg needs 'thoughts & prayers'...
or posts a proud papa opus...
or is navigating a rough patch, and just needs some words of encouragement.

Plenty good empathy and support there, my friend. I think it's a matter of context- and location, location, location. Don't get me wrong- I think there's a world of merit to your take on how things ought to be. I just think it's a hard sell in this neighborhood, 'cause around here, folks like they politics with a "Jets/Sharks" flavor- and there's not much you can do to change that.

Heck, we have an ongoing thread about congressmen getting shot by a deranged lunatic, and that convo has devolved into "who's more violent: Consvs or Libs?" Stupid premise with no basis in rigorous empirical research- and all based on opinion and raw emotion. Why? because it's more fun and entertaining than that boringazz adult-type crap you propose! rofl wink

I mean, what can beat calling someone else a 'Libtard' or 'Trumphumper?' I mean... it's not like they're right there in the room with you- within arm's reach- so why not say **** in the most obnoxious/provocative way you can? You pay no real price for doing so, after all.

I read this forum every time I visit. When I find the occasional real conversation, I try to contribute if I have something to say. Mostly, I'll just drop a joke post or one-liner and gtfo.

Because this place is what it is... and it isn't obligated to be what I think it should/could be.

It's all good. I have resources beyond this web address alone.

Of course it is! And if you have listened to my life story over the years, you understand that I am not afraid to go into any neighborhood. I have always believed that the most change can be gained in the toughest locations.

You know I am fighter, bro. You have talked to me about it in PMs. I fight for what I believe in. And I shared a story in the Growing Up thread where as a 12 year old I had to fight w/all my might against a 20+ year old who had a knife. I didn't fight out of anger. I didn't fight for revenge. I didn't fight because I hated that guy.

I fought because I was scared! I knew if I let him up that he would kill me and maybe my brother and cousin. And when a person has a cause, he is a mighty opponent.

So understand this, my friend. I will continue to fight the good fight. There is more honor in solving problems than assigning blame. And while most will ignore my pleas for common decency and respecting all individuals regardless of their ideologies, I will continue to fight on.

I am not foolish enough to think that most will care enough about what I am saying to change their lives. But, I want to make them think. And I do believe that there are people on the fence and even if they are not vocal on here, they may listen and decide to help join the cause to make a positive difference rather than furthering the divide.

Clem, you can't stop me from voicing my opinion! The fact that it doesn't fit in here makes it even more important that it is inserted here!

And I am going to fight this fight because it reminds me of the time when I was a punk ass 12 year old who fought w/all his might because he was scared about what would happen if he didn't.

Love ya', man!

Multiple anchors have gone after trump.

That doesn't make them liberal, by the way.

That makes them aware.

Unless listening to unenlightened people is your thing.

Sheppard smith has blasted trump
Megan Kelly before she bounced blasted trump
The new dude that replaced the weirdo O'reilly has blasted trump
Cavuto has blasted trump
Bret Biar has smacked him a few times.

And that doesn't include the number of conservative guest that have had a hand in it.

Just because you got Fox News on while you eat breakfast or sit on the toilet doesn't mean you're actually pay attention to anything.

Give it up. All the networks are going after dude in some shape or form.

From the Russian crap, to tweeting, to the ridiculous crap healthcare plan.

You got nothing.

Fox is not as shamelessly one-sided as CNN and MSNBC are. I'm not saying they are "fair and balanced" as they claim, they have an old-school conservative type bias, but they're a lot more fair than the other two networks I mentioned.

There are a lot of conservatives who don't particularly like Trump. This is not anything new.

So is it your assertion that the GOP senate, the GOP congress and a special prosecutor appointed by yet another GOP appointee are all running investigations without any merit?

The funny thing is, a lot of you whine and moan about this and yet the GOP are in charge of these investigations. Considering that fact, are you blaming the GOP of a witch hunt?

These are reasonable points, but Seth Abramson speculating on Twitter is not proof of anything.

I'm pretty sure that's the only time I've used reddit as any kind of substantial source in the 10+ years I've posted here.

I have no idea. lol

I just try to make my own points to which I find to be reasonable. I also would never accuse Trump or his associates of being guilty until these investigations run their course.

What does bother me however is when people try to blame these investigations on the left and on the media when it's the GOP who has actually opened and are leading these investigations.

I agree that the media focuses on them and that the left are all giddy about Trump taking a fall. I believe that's pretty obvious. However, going beyond that is inaccurate and disingenuous.

What proof do you have that Trump was referring to knowledge of being under investigation as having come from the actual investigators?

His attorney says he was referring to the Washington Post story saying he was under investigation.

Stop with the made up by yourself accusations and come out with the PROOF from time to time, please.

http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2017/06/...vestigated.html

Oh yea, you and your Yahoo also broke the story of Trumps being under investigation for Collusion with the Russians, which we all found out was another lie. Trump, as it turned out, was never under investigation for it.

So put the PROOF where your Mouth has been for a change.

What?

Trump got on twitter and told the WORLD he's under investigation.

Now all of a sudden his lawyer is saying he doesn't know?

And you actually believe that? From the same lawyer who had to HIRE his OWN lawyer?

Keep those blinders on.

More lies. More misunderstanding and poor guesswork on your part!
You think he was saying that but now we know exactly what he was talking about. He was referring the the Washington Post story that he was under investigation.
Seems someone actually took the time to ask him what he was referring too.

Good thing you are not a detective. notallthere

And the PROOF that he confirmed this to the world is?

Please don't tell us the PROOF is what he said in that tweet because we all now know he was referring to the Washington Post story that he had read saying he was under investigation.

I don't understand why 40 is having a hard time with this. Either he's trolling, or the tin foil hat is on too tight.

Wake up guys, he read in the Washington Post that he was being investigated and was referring to that story with his tweet.

He still has not heard from the investigators whether or not he is under investigation. Only from the WP.

You can believe his lawyer if you want to.

The world saw trumps tweet. And trump didn't clarify that it was in response to the article.

Can't spin this one.

So either trump is lying, or trump is telling the truth and the lawyer is lying.
