It's become a self-fulfilling prophecy, the media over reports on all things Trump, makes a huge deal about minor changes, Trump gets all jacked up and responds, then the media gets to report on him responding to their over reporting... I agree that if Trump would stay off Twitter and stop picking fights with the media he would be better off, but the media is absolutely loving it.

I disagree. Tweeting is Trumps only way to speak directly to the people without the twist and outright lies of the Media.

Mark Levin (a pretty good lawyer) said the same thing last night. He said Trump must keep tweeting to get the truth out to the people.

It's a good point. They can't put their own ridiculous spin on things. The character limit and limitations with the platform have their issues, but whatever.

Twitter/FB posts are easily the best way to connect with the people. Social media is more important than ever. Read an article about campaigning and it'll all be about most social engagements and other social media jargon. Trump won the social media engagements. Corbyn won the most social media engagements.

The only problem is, he really isn't saying anything in those tweets except attacking people in 160 characters or less. He would be much better served doing much like what F.D.R. did with his Fireside Chats.

You can't lay out your plans or goals for the nation on Twitter. He uses it to sling arrows and not much more.

If you actually expect people to believe he's trying to send a message to the people, he has to talk to them.

No, he can't lay out his plans or goals for the nation on Twitter. He can make minor points, correct things (this often spans multiple tweets), link to more in depth explanations, etc. It's a very useful tool. I would be disappointed if he stopped using it.

The fact that the media went so hard after him over a typo is actually pretty good evidence of their bias. I seem to remember it had something to do with media cov[erage] but intentionally or not, it was written as covfefe.

MOSCOW (Reuters) - Moscow is preparing retaliatory measures to Washington's decision to seize two Russian diplomatic compounds in the United States in 2016, Russia's foreign ministry spokeswoman said on Wednesday.

In December, U.S. seized two Russian diplomatic compounds as then President Barack Obama ordered the expulsion of 35 Russians over what he said was their involvement in hacking to interfere in the U.S. presidential election campaign.

Moscow, which denies such allegations, did not retaliate immediately, saying it would wait to see if relations improved under President Donald Trump.

"Retaliatory measures are being prepared. As you understand, such a decision on the issue won't be made only by the foreign ministry," ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.

Speaking on state-run Rossiya 1 channel, Zakharova said Washington realizes that Moscow would retaliate.

Russian Kommersant newspaper reported in June that Russia may seize U.S. diplomatic property in Moscow and complicate life for an Anglo-American school unless Washington hands back the two diplomatic compounds in the United States before July.

My initial reaction at 'covfefe' was it was intentional but made to look like a typo to generate some publicity and expose the bad-faith media coverage of him for what it was.

Success on both counts. What should have been a funny typo became "evidence" that a madman is running the White House and he's lost his mind.

It's also possible that it was an accidental typo-- it wouldn't be the first time somebody fat-fingered a tweet or had some buttons mashed in their pocket.

the worse part about covfefe wasn't even the typo, it was their spin/explanation after the fact.

The worst part about it is it showed how people can invent controversy out of nothing.

It's funny and odd how the things you complain about the most with media and such are the very things that trump does on a regular basis.

He couldn't stop tweeting if he wanted to and I surely don't want him to quit. He keeps it interesting and if he hasn't already, someday he will hang himself out to dry with it.

I think he ordered the political hit job on that GOP senator that didn't support the healthcare bill this week too. I look at his entire Presidency like a third world banana republic dictatorship wannabe. Trump fancies himself as a Strongman.

The media doesn't hate that he tweets, the media loves it.. it fuels 90% of what they want to report on....

I don't have a problem that he tweets.. I have a problem with the way he tweets.. his tweets are not informative, they are argumentative, blaming, and often childish.... and more than once he has completely contradicted himself and those around him who are supposed to be helping him by tweeting.

Knowing Trump, he sometimes tweets stuff he knows will have the media running in circles for days. I think Convefe was one of those.
We who follow what he has to say enjoy these constant updates to what is on the Presidents mind free of media interference.
Sometimes it also makes us cringe.

Today Trump is criticizing the hosts of Morning Joe.
It is brutal but it is also everyday American Social Media.
This makes Trump look like one of us instead of the untouchable Washington insider that most Presidents have become by this point in their term.
