Browns RB Darius Jackson is on the team's injured reserve list with a knee injury. Jackson was waived/injured earlier in the offseason and went unclaimed, putting him on the Browns' I.R. Jackson figures to be cut with an injury settlement before camp. He was a hyped sixth-round pick of the Cowboys last year.
The Eagles cut Dorial Green-Beckham. Is he better than our worst receiver? I'd have to say yes.
Yes. But why would they cut him? I think the guy causes problems. For someone at such a young age to get traded for Dennis Kelly, who didn't even start for the Titans, after his first season in Tennessee.
Then he's cut after one season with Philly (Although the Eagles did get Jeffrey and Torrey Smith in FA to team with Jordan Matthews), he clearly wasn't showing much.
Guy has a ton of potential, but i get the feeling he's a big headache. Why else would teams be constantly getting rid of a guy of his physical caliber and age?
Could Philly have traded him? I mean he's still under rookie contract, 2nd round pick, he couldn't have been making that much........
JMHO, Coach Sanders stated it best- availability, responsibility....young guy with potential, raw ability, etc....we had/got one of those- Josh Gordon- if you give anyone millions they've never had money- you don't know whether they'll retain the want to- some don't- he and Gordon in same camp.....pass on them. IF Gordon ever gets reinstated I'd trade him for anything- he's proved he has NO availability or trust ability. Go Browns!!!

He had TWO TDs last year, work ethic AND reports state he couldn't/didn't want to learn Eagle offense-- look up his past, he's clone of Josh Gordon- kicked off Missouri team--we don't need him that much--again, availability...and if he can't or won't learn-- more trouble than worth POTENTIAL. GO Browns!!!!

Reports about Dorial Green-Beckham's cutting due to poor work ethic.
If that's true, we don't need that around here, regardless if he is seriously better than any WR we have on the roster. Keep the junk out of Cleveland, we've had enough.
Green-Bechmam has size, speed, athleticism, but struggles to separate on the field. He had only 36 catches, along with 4 drops last year.
He was with the Titans as a rookie, and they gave up on him in one year, trading him to the Eagles last year. They gave u[ on him after one year, not even wanting him around for training camp.
I'd pass on him.

DGB has never lived up to the hype, and Britt is better now and Coleman has way more upside. I get our WR group is not ideal, but bringing in a guy who has never done squat in several years of being in the league at the expense of a young guy who could potentially develop is not smart.
So let him go elsewhere........or more likely home as I doubt anyone signs him.
Against logic, the most effective armor is willful ignorance.
Some serious baggage if the team that drafted you gave up after a year and the team that picked you up also is done with you in a year. That speaks volumes. Could Hue get the best out of him? Who knows. If we did sign him I would say no more than a one year contract and don't break the bank doing so.
DGB has been notoriously a talented malcontent (look at his college history stuff too) ... no thanks. He's probably done IMO

Several is more than one- two works, in two years he's been released by TWO teams- who invested in his potential, just like Josh Gordon- dumb once, dumb twice- NO THANKS....Go Browns!!!!

bring him in, it sends a message to the young guys, we are looking to upgrade, so better step it up and if he is half assing it, you can use him as an example in another way by tossing him quickly. Now if Hue and Al can reach this kid, he is a hell of a talent and could be your go to weapon. No risk imho plenty of reward opportunity.
The vast majority of the board seems to think our WR corp is pitiful, maybe the worst in the league. You'd think they would be happy if the Browns gave me a try-out.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
The dude has been kicked off two teams because of attitude problems and was arrested twice in college for having weed and kicked out of the U. of Missouri. So no.

Belichek will get something out of him!
Or, if he signs on the cheap, it would be a move I think we'd consider. I don't think I'd necessarily want him, but I think this is the type of scenario where he might check some boxes on the low risk, high reward category.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.
Free agent running back DeAngelo Williams is still “waiting on the phone call” to join an NFL team for the 2017 season. However, the 34-year old back, who rushed for 343 yards and four touchdowns on 98 attempts last season, told ESPN’s Adam Schefter in his “Know Them From Adam” podcast that he would rather not play for the Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars, or Dallas Cowboys.
Williams’ hesitance towards joining the Panthers or Cowboys is because of purely personal reasons. The veteran back is unhappy about how Carolina handled his release from the team in 2015, and has no interest in a possible reunion. Williams, who grew up a San Francisco 49ers fan, cites Dallas’ fans as the main reason why he does not want to sign with the Cowboys.
As for the Browns and Jaguars, Williams said he wants to sign with a team “where winning is something that’s expected, not something that people get excited about.”
Cleveland finished last season with the NFL’s worst record (1-15), and have had only two winning seasons since the franchise was resurrected in 1999.
“[The Browns] don’t have a history of winning,” Williams said. “I’m not sure about all of the championships they won before the Super Bowl was the Super Bowl, but in my lifetime, I haven’t seen them have a winning season.”
Williams is coming off a two-year, $4 million deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers. A knee injury caused him to miss nine games during the 2016 season, but the veteran is now healthy and could begin to draw interest from teams as we near the start of training camps.
The Browns decided to bring back starter Isaiah Crowell, who will combine with pass-catching back Duke Johnson to handle a majority of the running back duties for the 2017 season. Cleveland also spent a seventh round pick on North Carolina State’s Matt Dayes, who should get every opportunity to prove himself worthy of a roster spot during training camp.
34-year-old unsigned running back burns 4 NFL teams with very specific explanations of why he won't sign with them
Free agent running back DeAngelo Williams is still waiting for a call to join a new team after finishing his contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The 34-year-old Williams scored 17 touchdowns in two seasons as the Steelers' backup running back.
However, while the market may not be deep for older running backs with a lot of miles and carries, Williams has limited his market even further by ruling out four teams altogether that he refuses to join.
On Adam Schefter's "Know Them From Adam" podcast, Williams explained why he refuses to join the Cleveland Browns, Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys, and Jacksonville Jaguars, doling out sick burns in the process.
"First team would be the Cleveland Browns," Williams said. "Mainly because they don't have a history of winning ... in my lifetime, I haven't seen them have a winning season."
Williams explained that he won't sign with the Panthers for personal reasons because he didn't like the way they handled his release in 2015 after nine seasons on the team. Williams said at the time that he was upset when the organization didn't reach out to him when his mother passed away with cancer the previous season.
"I had no problems with getting fired, but there are things that went on there that I didn't like — and I still don't like to this day," Williams told Schefter. "There's no point in me going back there. You're an ex for a reason, right? You don't go back to exes, and that's just where I'm at there."
Williams continued, saying the third team he won't join is the Jaguars.
"I can't think of anything positive about that particular organization outside of the fact that they have pools in the stadium."
Williams added that at this point in his career, he wants to go to a team where winning is "expected." The Jaguars have not made the playoffs since 2007.
Williams' named the Cowboys as his fourth team, but the reasoning was a bit different — he can't stand the fan base.
"The Cowboys, they win. They just don't ever show up during the playoffs. They always disappear in the playoffs.
"I've got a great depiction of the Cowboys' fan base. During the regular season last year, they were on cloud nine. You couldn't tell them anything because they were going to win the 'ship — that's all they said. Fans just got extremely super annoying. Then, the minute they lose, they either got cheated, somebody was hurt —the excuses start flowing. It's just amazing to me. That fan base just in general can't handle defeat. Still, to this day, they say that the Dez Bryant catch against the Green Bay Packers was a catch."
It's unclear when a suitor may emerge for Williams, with training camps beginning in just a few weeks.
However, Williams doesn't seem to mind, telling Schefter, "I'll sit here until 28 of those other teams call."
I like how Cleveland and Jacksonville are the only franchises that don't "expect" to win but would just get "excited" about it.
I'm pretty sure more than 1/2 of the league doesn't actually "expect" to win the SB.
And I'm pretty sure some of the teams fanbases near the top don't even get "excited" about winning... (I know a Pats fan that doesn't care about the regular season or pay attention to any offseason news, I do not like to talk about football with said person)

Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?
If I were a FA with options Cleveland would not be in my top 30 choices. But he may not have the options, so I wouldn't be picking and choosing. JMHO

Williams was awesome 2 years ago when Bell got hurt. I used him FF a lot and he put up some huge numbers in many games. He's a much better back than people are giving him credit for.
Also, at his age, I wouldn't blame him for not wanting to go to certain teams. He's had a very nice career and doesn't have to play in a bad situation.

He also has a nice moonsault.

As much as people would like to take this in another direction, this is the truth.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

It's really a non-story. He doesn't want to come here for the team we have today and he's not getting any younger. We don't want him because he's too old. I think maybe he could help us...but I doubt the FO even talked about the guy.

Wow, it's like you literally took every thought I was going to post/comment on and did it for me.
