If Hillary had won we would be investigating the collusion she had with Ukraine for damaging information against Trump No we wouldn't. The GOP led Congress and Senate would have had her convicted, impeached, and sent to jail by now.

J\C WOW now that post was a perfect example of psyco-babble but actually with the main stream media fully involved as the opposition party that gives the left validation for the vitriol they spew.

We'll see. It is like hazing. Once it starts it snowballs. It started many decades, probably centuries, ago in the US.. the internet has made it exponentially worse. There are very few things I would make a serious wager on that are outside of my control but I'd bet on this.. the next democrat to take the WH and republicans will be calling to investigate their mother, their shoes, their 401K.. and calling for impeachment... poor person could be an absolute saint, won't matter.

While I certainly agree with your post, the one thing I highly doubt is the part about "being a saint". There are very few of those in politics so the odds of one running for president are extremely slim. lol

It started many decades, probably centuries, ago in the US I remember pretty clearly that it all started to snowball during the 2nd Clinton Admin. But whatever.

It could actually get really bad. What if the next Democratic President still has a majority GOP House and Senate? The GOP could use the same obstruction tactics the Democrats are doing now. In theory, the GOP would be able to outright block any of the Democratic nominations. I don't condone that strategy, but the D's have been playing with fire.

Again, this didn't start 5 months ago.. not going back too far, the democrats earned the name "Party of NO" during the Bush administration, Republicans openly said they were just going to block anything Obama tried to do.. this is a just a continuation of the same game plan.. and it keeps getting worse. The problem with what you said above though, is that democrats are in the minority and are still able to block pretty much everything..

The only problem I see with what you're saying is that the Democrats alone don't have the power to obstruct now. I mean we keep hearing that all the time but they are the minority in both the congress and the senate. The only way the GOP can get stopped is by stopping themselves.

I mean we keep hearing that all the time but they are the minority in both the congress and the senate. The only way the GOP can get stopped is by stopping themselves. It goes back to the Filibuster and other weird rules in Congress. Nominations to be approved by the Senate, for example, require 51 votes (or 50 plus the Vice President) but the other party can stall indefinitely, at least in theory, as long as there aren't 60 votes to bring a vote. 60 votes are required to bring an immediate vote, which the GOP doesn't have. Basically the Democrats are obstructing as much as they can but they don't really have the power to block nominations and such for the next four years like they would have if they had an actual majority. It seems like they escalated that strategy at the wrong time?

Hello all!
I see the usual suspects are up and running the ruskie propaganda machine full blast today.
The hannity interview was an absolute JOKE, and Jr. still incriminated himself! He has proven intent, period. Mueller will have a hayday with this one.
This is truly a sad time for America. Trump is alienating us to the rest of the world and more specifically our oldest allies. He's handing over world leadership to the likes of Russia and China.
He is setting the economy up for a full collapse when reasonable minds retake power and put sensible regulations back in place. The stock market is literally like the wild west right now. Up and down on the words of the strongman... SHAME.
3rd world Donnie wants to be emperor, not president. Every other word he spews is a lie, he can't keep them straight. And all of his stooges continue to follow him blindly. No checks and balances on Donald's crazy train... THIS IS WHAT WILL BRING IT ALL DOWN, and it is already happening.
These emails ARE A SMOKING GUN. Just watched Lindsey Graham put Trump's pick for head of the FBI under the gun by asking if the email should have triggered a call to the FBI and he said it should. LMAO
This will still take time, but beyond any doubt now, this is the beginning of the end for Trump. Donald will never let his son take a fall here, so the cover up, spin, and lies will be magnified 1000%. And of course his minions will gulp down the lies like hogs at the trough.
Those thinking Trump will save them and turn the country into this redneck bigot slice of heaven are in for the biggest disappointment of all. He is setting the stage for liberals to run the country for the next 40 years. How does the GOP overcome putting a traitorous Russian Puppet in the WH? OMG.
WAKE UP SNOWFLAKE, THE SKY REALLY IS FALLING FOR THE GOP.

'Exclusive: DOJ let Russian lawyer into US before she met with Trump team' The Russian lawyer who penetrated Donald Trump’s inner circle was initially cleared into the United States by the Justice Department under “extraordinary circumstances” before she embarked on a lobbying campaign last year that ensnared the president’s eldest son, members of Congress, journalists and State Department officials, according to court and Justice Department documents and interviews.
This revelation means it was the Obama Justice Department that enabled the newest and most intriguing figure in the Russia-Trump investigation to enter the country without a visa.http://thehill.com/homenews/administrati...-met-with-trump

I almost wonder if, on some level, the Repubs are hoping to lose Congressional majority again so they can regroup and actually have a villain to blame. It's like a dog chasing cars. Now that they actually got what they were seeking, they have no idea what to do.

You can blame them if you like, but it's the GOP lead Congress, the GOP lead senate and a special prosecutor appointed by a Trump appointee that are doing the investigating. I'm wondering where your outrage was when the right invented things like Pizzagate and other conspiracy theories? And as much as you may hate to admit it, a lot of things were brought out by the media. The N.Y. times are who brought the latest Don Jr. e-mails to light. Now whether that leads to anything is yet to be seen, but if not for the media, Watergate would have never been known about.

My point is that Republicans hold the power to pass whatever they want based on the numbers. The only one who has the power to stop them, is themselves.

Right now it takes 51 votes to pass healthcare and any budget changes or tax cuts.
These were all a huge part of their platform.

I've never seen politicians that wish to give up power. I'm not saying you're wrong, but trying to lose power would be a first in politics. It's more rampant speculation on my part than anything else, and I was thinking of it from the perspective of someone like Mitch McConnell not caring what happens if they lose a couple swing state senators, but he gets to keep his job as leader of the Conservatives. Again, just rampant speculation.

House Democrats want to know why a major Russian money-laundering case was abruptly settled https://finance.yahoo.com/news/house-democrats-want-know-why-195746298.htmlSeems to be a lot of dots, and slowly but surely, they're being connected.
