Huh..

Can't believe Clevinger gave up that 1st inning, two out drive to Pujols.

Sort of a drive. It was very high.

Looks like he's gonna be the winning run too.

Grad Slam walk offs are always fun. laugh

I would also add that Zimmer is the read deal, folks. He can do it all.

That was a dirty trick to force Clevinger to change gloves after his great first inning last night.

He’d been using that gray glove all season without a complaint.

It was obviously meant to rattle him.

And it worked. Took his mind off his pitching (his concentration).

I hope Clevinger can recover.

This is where Francona comes in. I hope he has some magic advice for Clevinger.

Otherwise there’s a chance Clevinger may have already seen his best days of this year.

Mike Scioscia is a jerk. I hope the Tribe buries the Angels.

It's okay, but a little played-out. I like it when the whole team gives the guy the cold shoulder. As if nothing special just happened. No high-5's, no hugs, no acknowledgement of any kind for about 30 seconds and then they rush the guy. That's funny.

Fun MLB statistical fact #72,984.

Last night was the first time in MLB history that a team hit 2 grand slam homers in a game including a walk-off.

Have another burger Mike.

j/c...

My youngest son and I were up the game last night. Glad we stayed until the end...incredible ending! He even managed to get a ball from the Angels bullpen and a pic with Gabby.

Headed back up tonight for another one. Hopefully, they can keep the wins coming up at home. Cookie is on the mound, so I like our odds.

Go Tribe!

Fernando Tatis owns the best grand slam record in baseball history. He hit two grand slams in the same inning while also setting the record for most RBI's in an inning too. You'd think they'd just plunk the guy before giving him another pitch to hit with the sacks jacked.

Speaking of double homer innings, I thought it was cool that Carlos Baerga hit two homers in the same inning, but from both sides of the plate, which I think has only happened two other times. Rare feat.

After the Gatorade bath, one of the Indians picked up what looked like a softball-sized chunk of ice and plunked another Indians guy in the back with it.. It appeared to shatter into little pieces but still..

I remember watching this live with Tatis. A cool feat.

Boy the Angels just implode after a while don't they? I clicked away from the mlb tab in my browser for a couple minutes, come back and a 2-2 tie was an 8-2 lead. Then we end the inning with 2 more runs.

So last night it's the 5th inning and STO-HD announcers Rick Manning and Matt Underwood are saying “Yeah Carrasco is not sharp tonight.”

I’m looking at the score and Carrasco had given up 1 (one) run through 5 innings.

Hold on.

That’s 1/5 * 9 = 1.80 ERA.

Yeah Carrasco is really sucking tonight.

Well this sucks.

I paid ~ $50 around July 4th to get the remaining Indians games for the year on MLB.com.

And I’ve watched at least the first half of every game since then except for a “Sunday Night ESPN Game of the Week” which was blacked out on MLB.com.

I think MLB.com will also blackout “local games” which here in Connecticut means Red Sox and Yankee games.

The Indians play the Yankees and Red Sox 14 games in August.

And I don’t get the Yankee and Red Sox channels since I switched to antenna TV.

This could seriously suck. Any suggestions?

I mean besides Oxycodone.

Hey, thanks lead!

I'll be "taking" this to the Rocky Hill Library. Talking to one of the IT people.

In case you didn't know, in decent public libraries, "librarians" are now like general PC IT people.

Instead of "bookworms" (the old librarian model), they're all PC savvy.

But do they still put their hair up, wear tight skirts, put their reading glasses down on their nose, and push carts full of books around? Oh the memories..

The librarians at my local libraries look like they might be the same ones who were there when I was a kid. crazy Short skirt and high heels have been replaced with stretch pants, compression socks, and orthopedic shoes.

Um...

Is this still the Indians thread?

Indians win 2-1. Should I put this here?

But there's big problems ahead.

The starting rotation is in shambles with 6 starters.

And now Bauer goes and really screws things up. 8 innings/1 run.

Something's gotta give. The Indians can't keep this up.

Oh... Here you go Y, enjoy:

Royals have won 8 straight and gained a 1/2 game on the Indians. Its strange here in Cleveland how none of the sports talk is about our 1st place MLB team. The local shows have been doing Lebron-Kyrie 24-7 since last week. Today, after the 2-1 win, the shows are all on remote at Browns' training camp asking questions like "So, Jabrill, how did it feel signing your first NFL contract?". Yikes. 28,000+ showed up for the Indians' game today - not great, but pretty good - but its no thanks to local sports talk. They've been doing Cavs since the season ended a month ago. It must be kind of frustrating for the Indians' front office.

Today the Tribe won 2-1, their 7th straight. Bauer went 8 innings, wiggling out of trouble with runners on 2nd and 3rd, and no outs in the 7th. He turned it on, and got out ... then wiped out the Angels in the 8th. Bauer is now 9-8 on the season, and probably held onto his starting job.

Now we go on the road.

I would say that 28K for a day game when your average is only 23K is pretty great.

I had the game on the radio at work, and Tom Hamilton said they have been drawing better at weekday day games than they have for night games, which is a departure from years past. They averaged 29,000 for the last 6 home games, which is good but still only 73% of capacity for Progressive Field. I think attendance could be 10-15% better with a little more attention from the 2 radio stations that are strictly sports talk here. But its been all hoops here since the NBA season ended. Now that Browns TC has opened, it'll be all Browns. Its a little annoying, if you're a baseball fan.

I think they have to stay with Bauer. Its frustrating sometimes to watch him go to 3-2 on a guy he had down in the count 0-2, but his stuff is really good. IMO, some patience now will pay off with a front-of-the rotation starter in the years to come. Its just the way it is sometimes with young pitchers - the progression is not a straight, upward line on a graph. Today, when he got out of that jam, he showed that he is maturing as a pitcher; he's not just a thrower anymore.

I've noticed the uptick in attendance when I have been up at the games. As you mentioned, the day games have been big draws this year. Parking typically doubles in price for the day games.

Compared to last year, the attendance increase has been quite noticeable.

It's a fun team with talent and some great personalities that the town and/or more casual fan is starting to love.

Going to a Tribe has become en vogue again. I see a lot of twenty-somethings at the games and that's a great thing.

Great win today. Anyone else notice Lindor look back and jaw at Maldonado after he singled to drive in what would be the go-ahead and winning run? Great stuff.

I'll be curious how long they continue with the 6 man rotation. Salazar is on the mound tomorrow.

Salazar dominant so far tonight vs the White Sox - 4 shutout innings, 6 K. Indians up 2-0 in the top of the 5th.
