How does a league celebrating its 100th season only recognize the 53 most recent championships?

You're a funny guy but you're not making any sense.

Unless you're saying the coaching staff sucks. I mean with all of that talent, how did they only win one game?

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

<<sigh>> I really despise fictional generalizations like that. You are basically saying that anyone who criticizes them are irrational and are just criticizing the players w/out and rationality.

Let me see if I can play that game?

We could go 1 and 15 and people would not see that there is a talent problem.

Where is the mystery person (people) who think we didn't have a talent problem last year?

I wasn't implying that we had (or have) a lot of talent. Just the opposite.

It was a poor attempt at humor. Vers is saying that if we go 1-15 there will be people who will not see a lack of talent as a reason. The point I was trying to make is that is what happened last year, so I was agreeing with him.

I remember that game well. He had a damn good game. I remember it clearly because I only had 42 beers that game.

excellent trade to get him,
I really hope he gets another big step this year.
My huge hope is this guy really becomes a blitzer supreme with his 4.3 speed.

I may just be speaking for myself, but I don't believe that the Horton vs talent level argument for why we sucked is an 'either/or' situation. I think that the talent level was awful, but that the coaching also wasn't very good (or didn't fit right, however folks want to look at it). There isn't one single thing you can do in order to fix what happened last year with the defense. Put another way... I highly doubt there's a single person who thinks that we could go into the upcoming season with only a DC change (without adding talent) and have a "fixed" offense.

That being said, we upgraded the talent, and we also upgraded the coaching (also my opinion). I think both were lacking last year, and we have made good attempts to fix both (we still have to see how those attempts pan out).

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

in regards to the trade to acquire Taylor, wasn't it basically a swap of 7th rounders? like 15 pick difference? ... obviously we took on his salary, but that was a very nice acquisition

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

sorry vers not trying to ruffle feathers.
point one the ray horton i saw as a defensive coordinator could not coach his way out of a wet paper bag.
2 question what high paying job did he step into.
3 if taylor goes from 3 to 6 int this year the defense will be mean.
4The impact of having a defender like that on your d helps everything.
5 Ray horton had all pros at all three levels and finished last in d no wonder he was fired.

like i said Iam not trying to ruffle your feathers
I think the whole secondary had a good game i did not see extreme amounts of passes get completed against them.

While the secondary was not great last year. I also don't think they were as bad as advertised either. QB's had way too much time in the pocket last year.

I think that with an improved pass rush the secondary will show marked improvement this year.

No offense, but I disagree. I think the secondary got beat early and often and their poor coverage actually made the pass rush look worse than it really was---not that it was all that good.

I'll trust my eyes on this one.

It's too early to tell. The first team didn't look very good in the first game, but again, it's way too early to tell.

They were Bad as a secondary last year.

first reaction, " they were worse than advertised" .

I think in 25 years I can't remember a Browns secondary co-equal to last years in badness that didn't have Scott Galbraith as a starting corner, (if I recall correctly)

That name might be wrong, but there was that one guy, circa 1991, wow, he was bad, he got beat every week,, well everytime they threw the ball actually, whew.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

My 4' 10" 69 year old mother could have went out and played better at safety last year. It wasn't just bad, it was horrible.
