Lonzo Ball just won the summer league MVP. That's basically the same thing as Finals MVP.

Derrick Rose?

Ummmm.....not sure how I feel about that. We could use him if he's healthy. Being in Chicago, he left a bad taste in a lot of mouths here, A LOT.

Yeah, D-Rose at a minimum salary playing backup PG behind Irving? Yes, please! We don't need him to play major minutes, which will probably be better for him staying healthy.

definite upgrade at our backup G position ... and for the right price. I don't care if we save him until Boston/GS

My one endearing memory of the 2015 playoffs was Delly putting the finishing touches on a career game late in the 4th quarter to finish off Chicago, and they pan over to Derrick Rose and he's peddling on a stationary bike.

Yup. That's up there in DRose's career highlights.

My favorite is him on the bench, in a nice suit, with his knee at 90% and he's not playing while his teammates are battling the Heat in the 2012–13* Conference Semifinals and a flu bug is running through the locker room to the point where some players are puking on the sidelines. He wasn't going to play unless he was 100%. Almost everyone on the team was playing below 90%. Lame.

*Rose returned to full contact practice in January 2013, and was cleared by doctor to play that March, but he did not appear in a game during the 2012–13 NBA season. Despite Rose's absence, the Bulls advanced to the Eastern Conference Semifinals, where they lost to the eventual champions, the Miami Heat.

isn't that when he said he was worried about his kids' graduation? that was weird

That comment was during the 2014-15 season.

Would he fit what we like to do on offense? Honest question.

If he signs, I would think Calderon is worth even less.

It seems like a weird fit. One of LeBron or Kyrie should be on the floor the entire game. That means one of them should have be the primary handler ball at all times. Rose is not a good off the ball player and is not a catch and shoot player. He is also a horrible defender. What is he supposed to do on the Cavs?

Those are all good points. The only thing I can figure is they might want to rest LeBron more and even give Kyrie more rest, and allow DRose to be a slasher to the basket w/the ball in his hands while playing w/the second unit.

I think Calderon would get more time w/LeBron, but one never knows.

If the Cavs sign DRose.

The Warriors and Cavs will have the last 8 NBA MVPs on their teams combined. (Prior to this season)

I think people are looking at a Drose signing from the perspective of what it would mean in our starting 5, which is nothing.

But he is a guy who can provide points off the bench when we were terrible last season.

Plus I think Kyrie could play a little bit of 2 guard at times

We may even look to play small at times and go with a 3 guard set.

But, this isn't about making the starting 5 better. It's about the other 5, that is where we lose ground to the better teams.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

yep..this would have no impact on the starting unit. I think getting someone like DRose, would give us a huge boost to the second unit and gives that slasher we don't have from the guard spot. This would be a steal at 2million, regardless of where he plays. I hope it pans out, I don't want to think of Calderon as our backup PG or even worse kay felder

The thing is that LeBron or Kyrie usually plays with the bench, so that means Rose is playing with one of them. He is not an effective player when he doesn't have the ball in his hands.

Because LeBron was born in Akron.

That's over generalizing it a bit. I mean the guy didn't have to come back. And being from Akron didn't really aid the team in consecutive finals' appearance the last go-around.

According to the article just written, he wants out for a bigger role and doesn't want to play alongside Lebron.

Wouldn't that hint Lebron is staying in Cleveland then? Meaning, this could be HIS team in one year. Unless he doesn't want this city, which is fine.

My beef, why didn't he make this announcement earlier so it'd be easier to pry Paul George away or someone else for a 1-year run at a title?

Oh well.

If lebron is staying then great, trade kyrie and get a nice haul..if lebron is leaving, kyrie wants out so he can win, Its obvious he can't carry a team on his own, probably doesn't want that burden. Simplest solution is to trade him while you can still get something and hope its enough to get 3-4 more years of lebron

I think the story has some teeth considering it states LeBron was blindsided.

If the story is true file it under "man, is this guy selfish".

There has to be more to it than he wants to be THE guy. There has to be.

Many outlets are reporting the same thing, but perhaps all from the same source. Lebron has even twitted stuff recently alluding to moving on now.

I think it's legit.
