I am well aware of both sides of this argument. I had my license for life, and health Ins. for many years. My wife is in the local School Employees health care program, She will be losing her government job this year (Thanks Kasich you donkey)and I have just signed up for Medicare. I may be just another dumb old redneck, but I am well versed in all aspects of the crap storm that is going on right now with healthcare. Right now I am still in a wait and see mode with how this is all going to shake out. Right now I am very disapointed but it's not over yet.

You and me both.

Alaska is slightly worse for teachers. We're basically given a 401k; none of it is close to the pension plan in Ohio. Next summer I'm starting a Roth IRA to boost it.

If you get into a Roth just make sure you can invest the money where YOU want. Don;t trust somebody else to invest it for you. My wife's OPERS was paying around 4.5 percent across the board over the last 4 years. My dumb old ass moved her assets around and earned just over 8 percent during the same time. You have to look out for yourself because most other people won't bro thumbsup

A brilliant movie in the making about how inept the American Government have become. Coming soon to a theatre near you. It is so near I can smell the popcorn!

This would be hilarious if it were not so sad...

I'm glad Senators McCain and Graham are fighting for what's right. I could hear Mitch McConnell's butt clinch from my house when they made these remarks; McConnell is failing big time.

So the Skinny Repeal went down in flames and Trump had egg on his face and made an angry tweet saying let the ACA implode...

Also hearing on CNN that this failing by GOP ends the reconciliation voting of only needing 50 votes to pass the budget, they now need at least 8 democrats and the dems have sworn they won't pass a penny for the border wall...

Trump just couldn't make a deal with a stacked deck in his favor. #Losing.

McCain did the right thing here in my mind. He killed Government healthcare in America. He took the hit for the party.

ObamaCare is dead and now Repeal and Replace is dead.

The Republicans had 7 years to pull together a Repeal and Replace strategy and get everyone on board. Instead they played politics with it.

Their chance came in March and they failed. Everything since then has been an attempt to cover their butts for this failure.

Repeal and Replace is now as dead as ObamaCare and all that is left is talking the talk for the next few years.

We can't yet, Democrats are still on the defensive this cycle. They’ve got 25 senators up for re-election, including 10 in states President Donald Trump won in 2016. Five of those states voted for both Trump and Mitt Romney in the last two presidential elections. By comparison, there are just eight Republican senators up for re-election, with only one (Dean Heller in Nevada) running in a state Hillary Clinton won in November.

We will just have to add more Republican Senators in order to limit the damage done by the RINO's.

The problem with your idea is that a lot of districts are moderate conservatives. Not everybody is an extremist.

Fiscal conservatives are truly hard to find (I am one myself) as many Republicans claim to be fiscal conservatives, yet route money to corporations or further inflate the defense budget (which is also routing money to corporations).

This should, by no means, be interpreted as an absolution of Democrats, as they're awful, too.

I like how the excuses for the GOP are falling like rain. They have control of the WH and both houses of Congress, period. They cried and lied for 8 years about how they would fix healthcare. They have failed to even start. SAD.

Phew…

That was too close for comfort.

Remember if you don’t have corporate employer sponsored health-care, you are at risk for substantial IRS penalties, late fees and interest for not having mandated health coverage.

And oh my god, thinking of starting your own business?

You better have your taxes done by a tax professional.

OBAMACARE FOREVER!

It's about time that both sides come together and fix what's broken. It's time for Congress to just ignore Trump and his threats (yeah, we've all heard he tried to threaten the people of Alaska).

Ignore the idiot and just sit down and talk like humans and get it done.

Time for bickering and name calling is long gone. It's time to get together as they were pre-obama, pre- Bush, Pre- Reagan and Carter.

Time to govern for the people and it's also time for Politicians that are bought and paid for by special interests to be kicked to the curb so that they can get the work done that that they were elected to do.

Most of this BS we see today is staged to raise the hockles of one side or the other. It's time to come together and quit the BS.

President Trump on Saturday threatened to end health care “bailouts” for insurers and lawmakers in Washington as he continues to push Congress to pass legislation repealing ObamaCare.

“If a new HealthCare Bill is not approved quickly, BAILOUTS for Insurance Companies and BAILOUTS for Members of Congress will end very soon!” Trump tweeted Saturday afternoon.

He also tweeted, “After seven years of ‘talking’ Repeal & Replace, the people of our great country are still being forced to live with imploding ObamaCare!”

What a great leader... He whines on twitter all day spreading distrust and creating divides everywhere, while getting absolutely NOTHING done about the most pressing issues we face today.

I just don't understand why anyone supports him or what people see in him. Big mouth do nothing Donald.

As much as I complain about what he does, I have to ask, what's the issue you have with him bringing light to the "bailout" situation?

Quite honestly, I think he should say that he would endorse a bill that puts Congress on the same footing as the people who would be affected by healthcare legislation, either current or future.

The response to that would make me run to the store to grab popcorn.

I agree with you on this one and I might add the interference of the Insurance Company Lobby might be one of the reasons some Senators are voting the way they are. Trump is basically threatening them and those Senators involved with them.

Maybe.

Yeah lobbying and Congress are so synonymous it has just gotten to a fever pitch. I don't see how anyone could disagree with that.

IF, and that's a big IF, Trump took a logical step to reduce interference by withholding payments then maybe I could see it that way. However all I see is Trump throwing a fit, trying to do more bullying, and taking no logical action. That's the way I see it, that's the way I called it.

But your point is noted and thank you for pointing it out. Time will tell. Personally I think Trump is just an unhinged child-man who spends most of his days plotting vengeance on perceived wrongs. I think this because anyone who doesn't do what he wants becomes a target, even close allies like Sessions, Priebus, and Spicer. The lunatic is running the asylum.

If you bow to Trump he thinks he owns you. If you flatter Trump he likes you. If you speak out against him or his actions you are his enemy... childlike in every way.

So you try to convince us that a Neanderthal has built a multi Billion international business, created a hit tv show, and then ran for and won the Presidency of the United States of America?

It appears to me that your view of the real world is through the bottom of an empty bottle.

First, I don't drink alcohol. Second, never called him a neanderthal but you did. I called him a child, spoiled silverspoon child. And yes I doubt his business acumen very much. His daddy's money and all of his frauds and bankruptcies prove that he has gained his fortune like the old robber barons, by hook or crook. He is just not that successful.

He beats little people out of hard earned money by scamming them. He takes advantage of every situation to skim a penny anytime he can. He acts like a common street thug in reality, but coming from a silver spoon upbringing he thinks that's what people like us are for; to steal from, lie to, use any way he can, and cheat.

Sounds like a pretty fair description to me if you just take time to reflect on it.

Thank you, sir. I really don't think I'm any more intelligent than anyone else around here. If anything, I work a job where I see first hand the corruption of politics in first-hand view. So does my wife, but at the state level. It has absolutely shattered my previous paradigm of good guys vs bad guys in politics.

I've had to condition myself over time to view the facts and the issues, and even to acknowledge good points from people who the selfish side of me wants to be wrong.

I still have a long way to go.

This entire thing could easily be resolved if an actual comprehensive healthcare bill re brought forward. It would actually be helpful if Trump me parameters that he would like to see in such a bill ell them to just pass anything and he will sign it. A little bit of leadership could go a long way.
