The boys are really taking it to Chris Sale right now. I don't know if they'll win tonight or not, but we've hung 7 on him in five innings.

And, wow!! Austin Jackson made one helluva catch in center field!! Wow!! Unbelievable...

man can you trust shaw to pitch anywhere without imploding? That catch my Jackson was pretty sweet, we have a good defensive outfield this year

well that lead didn't last long...we have bases loaded with noone out and we don't score, they have bases loaded with 1 out and score 4. Our batting in scoring situations blows.

And just like that, Lindor ties it up. If he keeps on this trajectory, he will make Omar Visquel look like a run of the mill shortstop. I love this kid!!

Sure is...I wasn't able to watch a lot of games last year so I followed on mlb.com, every time I saw Shaw was pitching I knew we were in trouble. He seems to be getting a little better but not much.

I don't understand how shaw isn't on waivers yet...just let smith have that spot. But I've never really like Allen either, he always seems to make it difficult. We have to get pitching figured out...my only knock on Tito is i don't think he's that good at managing pitchers. As soon as someone got into scoring position against shaw he should have been yanked..dude has like an almost 7 era with RISP..why gamble in a 2 run game

Pitch Miller in the highest leverage situations (when he is not on the DL). Francona has basically used Miller perfectly since he got him.

The bad news: going into a critical (and difficult) part of the schedule, the Indians won't have Andrew Miller (10 day DL) and Josh Tomlin, innings eater, for 5-6 weeks with a moderate hammy strain.

The good news: KC has lost 2 in a row; we're still up by 2 games.

Carrasco, Salazar, Bauer, and Clevinger have to step up and help Kluber keep this thing going in the right direction. Cody Allen needs to snap out of it too.

Having said that, I'm getting the sinking feeling that last year was the year we needed to win that title. Hoping I'm wrong.

What part of "manages for September" do you not capiche?

Have faith. I know it's hard.

Here's a possibility.

Tito wants

1) Miller to take some time off.
2) Tomlin to take some time off.

I bet there's a very good possiblity that these two pitchers will be pitching their best come the fall.

Tomlin is out six to eight weeks. That's a little more than rest.

(His best is also not very good.)

First off, I watched the game.

There was ho apparent reason for his injury. He came out to pitch the 5th inning and.. I don't know they took him out.

He wasn't limping, he wasn't grimacing, I don't think he wanted to come out.

How he's out at least 6 weeks is beyond me other than the fact the Tribe doesn't need 6 starters right now.

And presumably he will be fresh in mid-September when hopefully there's still another 1 1/2 months of Indians baseball.

As far as how good Tomlin is:

In that last game he pitched as good as the greatest pitcher in MLB history - 4 perfect innings. No runs, no hits, no walks, 5 strike-outs.

The game before that he also pitched very well.

6 innings, 2 runs, 4 hits, 1 walk, 6 strike-ots and the W.

"His best" looked pretty good to me.

One last thing.

Things don't look good for tonight. Boston doppler rada show wide, slow-moving bands of heavy rain in Boston.

Tomlin is a 5th starter, bullpen arm. Those guys are nice to have around. They are not good. Judging any player off of a two game sample is not wise (especially when the games are against the terrible White Sox and Reds).

Those $1 hot dogs are disgusting and I'd gladly pay $4 for a regular hot dog.

More importantly, Kluber is dealing and Frankie just smacked another HR from the right side of the plate on an 0-2 count.

Exactly. Heck, even a $4 hot dog at a stadium is dicey at best. NO WAY I'm eating a $1 hot dog unless I plan on spending 2-3 hours in the bathroom later that evening. You know that $1 hot dog is 3% meat. The other 97% is ligaments, bone, sawdust, hair & random innards.

The worst part about that hotdog is it had ketchup on it. Ketchup on a hot dog!? Its reprehensible, indefensible ... incomprehensible. An outrage!

I love ketchup, mustard, onions, relish and/or pickles .... maybe some diced tomatoes .......

Or chili with cheese, onions, and mustard ....

Good stuff. I have never understood what people have against ketchup, especially on hot dogs. It's not like they are a gourmet food. rofl

They had an article in the Plain Dealer recently about hot dogs, and they left out one of the better tasting hot dogs. (IMHO, and in the opinion of several who commented) I really like Echrich hot dogs .... and they are often less than a buck a package.

Oh, and great game by the Tribe to get the 5-1 win over the Yanks tonight. Kluber pitched a gem. That sees to be the norm for him. laugh

Indeed! I've been to 20+ games so far this year and have gotten a hot dog(s) once. It was the 3 mini dogs sliders with chili and cheese. I wanted to run 3 miles after I ate them, but they were pretty good.

Those dollar dogs have to be hot dogs that failed QC, they are nearly inedible. Lol.

But hey, whatever gets fans to the ball park!

More importantly, great win tonight and outstanding performance by Kluber.

Kluber is so good

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

*Rubbing my eyes* are people really complaining about one dollar hot dogs. Hell you can buy an 8 pack of hot dogs and an 8 pack of buns in the store for just over 2 bucks. So it's not like there is anything wrong with them.

At Dodger Stadium they have all you can eat tickets. For $33 you get unlimited hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, soda, peanuts, and water (along with your seat to the game). Not a bad deal.

You guys realize I'm a trouble-makin' vegetarian, right?

I wouldn't eat the best hot dog in the world (actually I'd probably make an exception for that).

I wouldn't compromise my principles on a $1 stadium dog.

That's a damn good deal. I could literally each nachos for every meal.

Geez the Yankee's defense sucks.

I don't recall seeing such bad team D before.
