Last year's disaster wasn't just revolving QBs-how many different lineman played and what positions...other than Joe, there was lots of movement...Kessler has the team's confidence- he's opposite of Manzel, will know the entire playbook, will throw under pressure....IF the run game works AND it should he will be great at play action.....I know we need to see what Kizer has, but until/if we are out of division playoffs, play the best player.....GO Browns!!!
Coleman has to stay healthy and at least one of the other WR picks MUST show something.

Cleveland Browns

Corey Coleman will leave preseason as the third wideout.

Coleman had a wildly impressive first two weeks of camp as a rookie, but his season went south from there, as a hamstring issue and a broken bone in his wrist cost him valuable time. Coleman battled more injuries this spring, but he also has to show that he can be a polished NFL receiver. He will begin camp as a starter, but Ricardo Louis seems ready to seize the spot. That would make Coleman a potentially valuable slot receiver. -- Pat McManamon

Time to rekindle this thread. It may just be click bait and stuff, but Louis has impressed .... Coleman maybe hasn't?

They haven't even played the intrasquad scrimmage yet.

Who is Pat McMananahan to say. Shenanigans' I say,

It's entirely up to the team; the depth chart.

Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Of course total speculation...I would not mind Louis upping his game at all. But I don't see Coleman dropping from the starting WR position. He is working hard from all reports I've seen and progressing nicely.

The only thing stated by PAT, who use to read our board, is that when we go to 3 Wideouts I can believe that Coleman will move into the slot and have Britt n Louis on the outsides. But it doesn't mean he will be the #3 WR.

Wasn't Duke Johnson going to be our slot guy...?

This story and the Johnson to slot story are why people are so quick to bash reporters. Some of the stuff they put out are complete trash.

I thought Coleman's route running was suspect. How can you move him into the slot if he doesn't run precice routes? Other than being small and quick, how does his game (what we've seen so far) lend itself to putting him there?

And the Duke Johnson being a slot receiver story was even lazier. The guy is a running back. Sure, he's probably going to be motioned out to the slot a bunch, but he's a running back.

Ugh.... I can't wait until the season starts.

Was that was all of DeValve's targets? If so he was very effective when he was targeted.

I think this is why many Dawgtalkers have picked DeValve as a potential "break-out" player. Although he saw limited targets in his rookie year (being behind Barnidge and all) he certainly did take advantage of them when on the field.

Even with drafting Njoku, I think Hue will get creative in how we use him. Partly because of unproven WR depth, but because he could probably present a match-up problem for defense if lined up outside or in the slot.

I'll be real, I didn't know Seth even made that many plays haha. I recall the one he got rocked and hit hard and of course the TD catch.

Thanks for the vids. Look forward to more. I too want to know you included all of his targets?

Browns signing receiver Rasheed Bailey

The Browns are signing receiver Rasheed Bailey, according to CBS’ Jason La Canfora. Cleveland had receiver Jordan Leslie hit his head in practice, via Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, and coach Hue Jackson said Leslie has a possible concussion.

Bailey has had stints with the Eagles, Jaguars and Chargers as well as the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League. He has never played in a regular-season game in the NFL.

Bailey went undrafted out of Delaware Valley in 2015 and signed with the Eagles as a free agent. He was among the team’s final roster cuts at the start of that season.

He finished third in school history in career catches (165), first in yards (3,138) and second in receiving touchdowns (29).

This is going to be an interesting year, with no cuts until the final cut to 53. I wonder how it will affect the Browns ability to sift through players who get cut by other teams in that one big round of cuts?

I've read that some teams may still do the cuts in a more gradual manner.

The good news is that we have the #1 waiver priority until week four.

j/c...did Louis lead the team in drops...man seemed like 50% he dropped. One thing though he almost always made that first man miss. If he can get somebody to throw him rolls of toilet paper he actually could become good, lol laugh

Are you sure thats right?

It seems off to me considering that Coleman had a lower catch rate then Louis.

It's a shame Leslie is concussed and most likely out against NO. Apparently Brock and him have built a decent connection.

According to Sporting Charts, he was targeted 35 times, had 18 catches, and 2 drops.

A couple of those drops were mind-boggling. He makes a catch towards the end of that video - short and over the middle - where he snatches the ball with his hands. Maybe he can get better.

Just used the link that was posted for sporting charts.

You were right about the drop %. Louis had the highest drop rate on the team.

Oh I see you checked and my "IMPRESSION" was correct thanks for the info. Don't believe what you hear...I actually get some things right... grin

Went on impression of watching the video which recorded every target. Didn't count and make an exact %
which is why I chose my words "SEEM LIKE" as it was a lasting impression with me.

Now to your "It seems off to me considering that Coleman had a lower catch rate then Louis." back at you - are you sure that right? lol laugh

I know you said seem...I'm not good finding stat things such as this (drop rate) hopefully somebody will answer this.

Huh??? I changed this and it show edit with no change...well here goes again.

I see you have checked and my IMPRESSION was correct. Don't believe what you read about me...I actually am right sometimes grin

I'm thinking we only keep 5 WR's, with Duke Johnson, DeValve and Njoku part of the majority of packages.

I got;
Britt
Coleman
Louis
Higgins
Leslie > Payton or Boyce

I still think we keep 6 (Payton or Hall) assuming they can play STs, but I do expect Njoku,Duke, and Devalve to get tons of targets
