Sorry, I don't need an investigation... Not that they weren't wronged or profiled in some way, perhaps they were... it's the fact that they are asking for TWO HUNDRED MILLION DOLLARS that makes me not really care if they were wronged or not. It is that simple fact alone that makes them appear to be nothing more than greedy opportunists as opposed to race activists with a genuine concern for righting a wrong......

As long as the out of pocket expenses are nothing then why wouldn't they sue ? If they get this case thrown out I honsetly hope these two losers go broke paying court costs and then are banned from Toys R Us forever .

If these two women just have lawyers looking to make a name instead of really trying to find out if this is true, because the Toys R Us lawyers will not be playing around, then they will be outta some money . BUT if this case has some legs, Toys R US will try to settle.( or possibly us a delay tactic).

i've often wondered why they don't place the "receipt checkers" in front of the cashiers, so they can SEE you purchase your stuff.
tradition can only carry you so far, then you have to start winning again.

I love the receipt checkers when we make the monthly $400 run to BJs and we've got 2 carts full of boxes and bags and loose stuff.. the receipt checker looks at the carts for 2 seconds, scans the receipt for a second, then punches a hole in it... there is NO WAY he has any idea if the stuff in the cart matches the stuff on that receipt.

profiling happens everywhere. that is often how we are kept safe. Many police departments/loss prevention/etc use it because it is true, not for any particular race, but if you have a store who is getting shoplifted by 90% mexican people, 5% caucasion, 5% black when the majority of shoppers are black and caucasion, who are you going to look out for? It is tool that can help identify potential threats, where people get into trouble is when they believe something that isnt there.

Why am I not surprised at those defending this absurd action. Guess what, Dog and ndutyme, I had my receipt checked at Toys R Us JUST THIS LAST WEEKEND. Should I file suit because I'm WHITE and had my receipt checked? This is absurd and people looking to make a quick buck. Show the receipt and move on. I noticed you mentioned Denny's.....why didn't you mantion Twayna Brawley (spelling)? It's a two way street, you know.

is that really true. What's done at a TrU in Houston, Cleveland, or Mars for that matter. What matters (and hasn't been spoken about factually to my knowledge) is what happens(happened) in THAT store!
oh and as an add on i aint defending or even siding with anyone just trying to keep the facts straight....or at least as straight as a racial motivated opportunist like myself could do

As Pit pointed out, most stores have security cameras at the exits. If that is indeed the case then we should have some evidence, one way or the other. It may not be conclusive, but should give us an idea.

Notice you didn't repost anything I said before that. But like I said "this isn't racism"
And yes, I can understand, I've been in situations like that, I handled differently though, I just showed my receipt. And yes, I've seen white people get their bags checked too. I can only speculate that these ladies were the only ones asked at the time, that's why I can relate.
But you're only gonna brush this off too, so do your best. You're really not worth the effort of trying to open your eyes to another world outside of boxed in existence.
Black people experience racism everyday...so do white people, latinos, and every other race. I recognize that, and have NEVER demeaned, degraded, or otherwise made light of a situation any race has been through. If you were to get your ass beat by 5 black guys, for no absolute reason other than it was just opportunity, that wouldn't make it right. If you claimed it was a racist act, I would agree.
Everytime someone says anything about race, I just shudder, because I know what's coming from you, and the likes of you. This particular case, you're right, this has nothing to do with racism, maybe a case of predjudice, but not racism, and the ladies should've let it go. But just because this is lacking merit, doesn't mean every situation is.
