Actually Pit, NK are not officially recognized as a nuclear militarized country. They may be close to it but, as of yet they are not. The US saying they are needs to be taken with a pinch of salt considering what was said about Iraq having "weapons of mss destruction" when they didn't.

However, a war in the Korean peninsula would be disastrous as this area is one of the densest and most populated regions. NK would attack Seoul...imagine a city bigger than NYC having missiles rain down. Tokyo could be targeted. Then you would have potentially China and Russia joining in. It could turn into a world war very quick.

Trump is clearly not stable and his rhetoric is literally no different than Kim Jong Un's. Their propaganda of us is no different than our propaganda of them. Perhaps what we do need is an "information" war where the people of NK learn to understand exactly what life is like outside of their state controlled country and information. Country like NK's biggest worry is the amount of information their population has access to. Most of their citizens don't even know how rich their southern neighbor is! That could actually play into our hands better than any bombs.

Yup ...wild card on vacation while we sit at the door step of war. Coward!

How many times did the former Soviet Union threaten to destroy us? I think most of you would agree, NK is no Russia. Contingency plans have been in effect since the Korean War cease fire. None of this is new.

Anyone who has served in the Pacific Theater knows the primary threat is NK/China. Possible threats come across the wire daily. An attack on the US by a rouge nation is a suicide mission. There is zero indication this clown wants to die. This is all a game by Russia and China. Period. Relax. . . .

In Trump's real estate business, he was famous for spouting off and blustering about his own greatness and the greatness of his projects... he still had a plan as to what the finished product was supposed to be... one can only hope that thought process still applies here.

And yet, the world has been feeding N.Korea - not N.Korea feeding their own.

They've been sanctioned by the U.N. how many times?

U.N. - you can't have nukes. Yet, they apparently do have them.

U.N. You can't have ICBM's. But, they keep working on them and claim they can hit the u.s., or guam, or Japan, or who knows where.

It's a constant "U.N. says we can't, but we do." And then comes the "we will hit the u.s. with nukes" stuff.

Sanctions aren't working, obviously.

This threat has been ongoing for how many years? Yet nothing gets done about it.


I have no doubt if N.K. starts an attack, the world will for the most part support us in retaliation.

And I have no doubt if the u.s. were to bomb first, China and Russia would support N.K.

I also have no doubt the citizens of S.K. would suffer the brunt - perhaps Japan, as well.

What's the solution? It's been escalating for years/decades, no?

N.K. does what they want, regardless of sanctions.


Do we attempt to take them out, risking millions of deaths and a possible world war?

Or do we sit them out, risking an attack on the u.s.?

Neither is a good option, in my opinion.

If Obama so much as looked at his golf clubs while a North Korean lunatic was lobbing missiles all over the South China Sea the collective GOP backlash would have been brutal. But yeah Trumps on a working vacation. Ok

See, if O and the u.n. had done their job, (and Bush, and Clinton) N.K. wouldn't have missiles capable of reaching the u.s., and certainly wouldn't have nukes.

If you wanted to start a nuclear war, both the US and North Korea seem to be following that playbook.

Just like the Cold War, we have to wait for cooler heads to prevail.

On a side note, I'd argue that if Trump just publicly ignored Un, and invested in whatever necessary missle defense for the time being, the world would be a safer place today.

I would think that if a country is determined to get nukes there is not much you can do to stop them, short of going to war. They are always going to have some allies that will help them with trade and stuff despite any UN embargo. Also, a war in Korea would be a total cluster, because you know that China is going to back North Korea. They will not want either a US friendly government, or an even more chaotic one on there border.

Warmbier was caught stealing a propaganda poster and tortured to death.

Well first he was sentenced to 15 years hard labor, but released this year in critical condition and soon died.

For oBUMa's first 4 years i said to give him time ...
