That's weird, I posted the same article and in it it says his name is Josh, not Jared.

Will Lamar Jackson come out?

Will Lamar Jackson come out? I bet he will. He's a first round pick based only on potential.

So this class, at the moment, is pretty awful. Jackson is the only guy I would take in the first round, and he is a wire coat hanger. He throws with anticipation, and he is really good in the pocket but I am afraid of his durability in the pros.
Darnold needs at least one more year. He has HORRIBLE mechanics but can get away with it because of the talent around him. Botles 2.0 if he comes out this year.
Josh Rosen is Kizer 2.0. But Rosen has a bigger personality, very arrogant and not sure he is a hard worker. Hard pass.
Josh Allen is not good at all. He will light up the MWC but against any sort of power 5 team, he turns into a pumpkin real quick. People and even teams will hype him as the great white hope, but he is not. Inaccurate and pathetic reading of defense.
Rudolph is a marginal QB, looks like a Kessler/Hogan to me. Solid guy.
The rest arent worth talking about. The draft analysts miss big time on this class. Its not very good.
you had a good run Hank.

USC's problem is that they don't have enough talent. Also, I don't think Darnold is going to leave school (I've been saying this for awhile now). Josh Rosen is Kizer 2.0. But Rosen has a bigger personality, very arrogant and not sure he is a hard worker. Hard pass. Rosen and Kizer are not similar in anyway. Rosen has perfect mechanics, Kizer. . . does not. Josh Allen is not good at all. He will light up the MWC but against any sort of power 5 team, he turns into a pumpkin real quick. People and even teams will hype him as the great white hope, but he is not. Inaccurate and pathetic reading of defense. I haven't seen any of Allen. If I had to choose a guy right now I'd take Rosen. He has been in a rough situation all three years at UCLA. He has had three different offensive coordinators, no offensive line talent, and no skill position talent. I think he's the first overall pick.

Last year everyone was saying that this years QB class was going to be great.
This happens 9 of 10 years.
Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!…. That did not age well.

I wouldnt take him in the first round. I would much rather have Jackson than Rosen

Unfortunately the party lifestyle took priority in his life over football.

Up to this point I have not really done my usual heavy analysis. Watching all the guys and really breaking them down.
I have seen some of Darnold. What I have seen I like alot.
Have no idea if he stays in school or not.
What I saw was a natural player. He is not robotic. He has not been schooled to death in proper mechanics on all throws. He throws from all kinds of platforms.
But I will say this right now: this guy is going to be a star in the NFL. He reminds me of Big Ben when he was in college.
He does things that you can not coach. He has great anticipation. Really sees the field. Yes, he has thrown picks. And at this level I have no problem with his picks. What I have seen is a guy who can be super accurate when he gets to the next level. Even on picks and throws not completed; the ball is right there.
He has pure natural instincts for the game of football.
He is no Bortles.
In addition he is a leader. Not a guy who has to be taught how to be a leader.
If Darnold is there when a team picks you would be very foolish passing on him.

Why don’t the picks bother u with Sam? ...
What other qb‘s are u going to focus on when/if u have the time?

I haven't watched enough to make a real educated opinion on Darnold, but I have seen things I like and don't like.
I like his aggressiveness and confidence. I like that he can make a lot of throws. I do think the picks are a bit of a concern because he sometimes loses his mechanics and throws passes like Aaron Rodgers, but he doesn't have the latter's arm.
These are all very early observations and are likely to change.

Because college is a learning ground. I don't know the USC roster or his receivers that well. What I see is a guy trying to make things happen. At the college level you have to do that in order to learn what you can do and what you should not do.
Later as he matures and is in the pros he will learn more about what you can't do. In college you can not be afraid to push the ball. That does not mean crazy but aggressive.
You can't watch a college quarterback and see them in the light of a professional. You have to project them down the road a few years. That is just the way it is.
I remember watching Derek Carr. There was no doubts about his ability to throw the ball. My concerns about Carr were tied to handling pressure in the pocket. He seemed to panic when guys were rushing him.
My initial thoughts were that it was a bad sign. You had to have that cool under pressure. Carr developed quickly once in the pros.
You have to remember these college players have a lot to learn. You have to look at their core talents.
Darnold has strong core talents. He is accurate. Once the ball is snapped he has great instincts.
You hear players say all the time experience helps to slow the game down. The game doesn't slow down. The mind speeds up.
Darnold shows signs of that right now. He anticipates where receivers will be open.
I saw one of the early games this year. Darnold made about six or seven throws in a row that blew me away. I was like WOW.
Still more to watch and plenty of time to do so. So my opinion may change some but I like Darnold.

I think the QB was Josh McCown.

I'm late to the party, but a week ago I'd have added Luke Falk to the list of QBs to look at. He impressed me last year and has had a great season to date, minus last week at Cal. I think the biggest concerns with him are lack of time under center, he stares down receivers too much, and if he is a product of Mike Leach's offense or if he's really that talented.
The guy I don't like is Baker Mayfield - he reminds me too much of Manziel...good college QB, way too many odd throws and an ego that is out of control.
Regardless, there's nobody in this class that is looking like a can't miss - Darnold is probably the closest. I like the little I've seen from the Northwestern kid too. At this point, I think he's going to be the 2017\18 version of Trubisky.

https://www.yahoo.com/sports/virginias-k...-183748012.htmlThis interception is Brandon Weeden bad. Which obviously means we’re drafting him with our 1st pick.

Sam Darnold struggling against Notre Dame. He criticized the play calling several weeks ago (he said that some of the plays were predictable and that teams knew their tendencies). Notre Dame is (are?) jumping routes like crazy.

Darnold appears to be overrated, especially since he is throwing his coaches under the bus. That is inexcusable.

Like I said in the beginning of this thread, the class was highly overrated/awful. Jackson is the only 1st round pick right now, IMO.

Darnold looks like .... I agree, and I hope we don't screw this up again by passing on Jackson. But it really won't surprise me to see another trade down. I'm use to it.

Heres the problem, Barkley is clearly the best prospect in this draft. There is no one close to touching him in talent. Jackson probably should be a 10-15 area draft pick. Assuming he gets the QB push, he will probably get into the top 5. Do you take the best QB or the best prospect? Not a decision I would want to make.

I think Lamar Jackson is a great college Qb but I have concerns about him as a pro Qb. So much of has game is his running ability. I don't think he sees the field that well and I question his accuracy.

Does anybody have a scouting report on Kenny Hill Qb TCU?
I have only been able to see highlights but he looks like he throws a nice ball. But again, I have only seen highlights.
