You are correct. He was eligible to return against the steelers last year, I am 99% positive lol He was 100% positive though

Now to your "It seems off to me considering that Coleman had a lower catch rate then Louis." back at you - are you sure that right? lol I know you said seem...I'm not good finding stat things such as this (drop rate) hopefully somebody will answer this. Huh??? I changed this and it show edit with no change...well here goes again. I see you have checked and my IMPRESSION was correct. Don't believe what you read about me...I actually am right sometimes [/color] No worries. You can get those numbers below: https://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/drops/2016/here too: http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/wr # of targeted passes caught/catch rate/drop %: Ricardo Louis-----51.4%/50%/5.7% Corey Coleman-----45.2/45%/2.7% Terrel Pryor------55.0/55%/2.9% Coleman has a weird stat line in terms of receiving. He has the lowest drop rate of the 3 receivers but somehow still has the lowest catch rate. I don't know what explains the delta in those numbers for him *shrugs* somehow he's not catching fewer targeted passes despite not dropping as many...go figure?

That would suggest to me he was not thrown to well by the QBs...probably he ran longer routes and was missed? Just wanted to share what Saunders has to say about Coleman.
AL SAUNDERS - SENIOR OFF. ASST./WRs COACH
“The thing we had to do with Corey was make sure that he would be able to be physically able go on a day-to-day basis. He has been on what we would call a pitch count. There are only so many reps he can take during a team-work environment or 7-on-7. Corey has come a long way. He has come a long way in understanding the offense. He has come a long way in his techniques. He has come a long way in just understanding the principles of the receiver position as they apply to the National Football League. It has been good for him to practice. As the weeks come on, he will be able to practice more and more at a higher speed and a higher volume. The more practice you get, the better player you are in all phases of your skills.” -- on Corey Coleman's progress

Just listened to Corey's presser. When asked what he did this entire offseason, he said rehab and prepare his body... and he still suffered a hamstring tighten up on him?
Sounds like no matter what he does, he'll never be able to go all out/not have to be babied on a pitch count/not always wonder if he's going to have a soft tissue injury.

sadly, hamstrings are awful when it comes to re-injury. It's nearly impossible to get them back to 100%. I pulled mine badly in 11th grade and still have issues with it

JMHO, I've come to this conclusion...AND it could be completely wrong...,.we knew WR was a weakness on team, the front office hadn't been together very long, so they used sources, took guys highly rated and successful in college, but didn't have great faith in them, they could justify them by stats, accomplishments, over achievers- Coleman was rated high, but his injuries and program would have lowered his stock IF they'd had time to look deep at THEIR guys, Nassib- great production college, character, motor, but he ain't going to stud out in pros...solid backup MAYBE...Coleman might be a 2....if he can stay healthy, right now I'd prefer Travis Benji....hope one of the 4 shows something this year....we need it.....GO Browns!!!!

You can have Benji I'll take Coleman, there was a reason he was one of the top rated WR's in the draft ...

I guess I'm alone in not having any concerns about our WR's.
I think we have guys with some talent; they are just young and inexperienced. I think the guys we drafted have put in the work to get better this year. I think it'll actually show up on the field as long as they have a QB who can get them the ball.

I don't like our WRs at all. I think they are actually going to make the qbs look worse than they are. I believe that the unit is huge concern.
Hopefully, I will be pleasantly surprised.

I expect Duke and Devalve to see a lot of targets.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

j/c:
This is just food for thought. I am NOT making any definitive statements.
What's up w/Coleman?
Let me start by giving some background information. I was the guy who said he would be the first WR off the board due to his speed and big-play ability. I just didn't think it would be to us. LOL
Some of my concerns [as I wonder about him]
--I don't trust any of those Baylor dudes when Briles was there. No discipline. Unruly. Too many crimes against society.
--Baylor WR's haven't fared well in the NFL.
--I am not a fan of that conference.
Those are all general comments. More specifically:
--What's up w/him getting in all of these fights? I read today that he fought w/multiple d-backs. He fought last year in TC. He fought last year during a game and then two days later, in the first practice, they said he broke his hand while falling. Color me skeptical after I saw him slap a guy upside his helmet in the game.
--He was part of a group that beat up some dude.
--Not understanding route depth and other various nuances of playing WR last year.
--Injury history?
I have questions about him. I also have hope for him because he has raw talent and being a fighter is good for some things.
I will end w/this: It is my belief that this is a pivotal year in regards to how Corey Coleman's career pans out.

That statement can be made for the bulk of the guys on our team, lol. Lets make some bolder statements, Vers. My next comment is not in reply to you, but about another comment someone else made about having no WR's that defenses have to bracket. At this point last year, did we have any WR's that defenses were planning to have to bracket? I'd say no. Defenses adjust to what players have proven on the field. None of our guys have proven a thing (I'm not including Britt, more so the guys we drafted last year). Thats not a bad thing in my eyes, as it should allow more 1 on 1 coverage. I think our WR's can beat the one on one, again as long as they have a QB that can get them the ball.

I like the progress Payton is making so far this year. Coleman is the real deal. Not sure about Britt, something tells me he is just going through the motions. Don't know if that is because he got his money and is a vet on a team that does not have for WR position??? Saving it for the games? If so I don't like that either. He ain't Joe Thomas.

Looks like that HGH is paying off for Payton. I hope he's still taking it. I always said he'd never make it into the NFL with his speed, but everything else was there. I just never thought he'd be physical enough to do it. I'm glad he's showing some signs of proving me wrong. You know, you never want to be against a Browns player, even if it's realistic to do so.

jmho I agree with you on Payton. He has had a nice camp.....hopefully it transitions to meaningful games.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Josh Gordon's Reinstatement not "Under Consideration" right now http://scout.com/nfl/browns/Article/Josh...et-pe-106246565

Never understood the position of the Browns on this matter. After years of disrespect for superior WR's skills, showed by not drafting bona-fide Wr's when we were in the position, and always drafting questionable prospects, we still have to live with this Gordon thing... Just cut/end any relations with the guy, and let Gordon be somebody else's problem

Not 100% certain but I think this is how this stands.
He got reinstated last year with a 4 game suspension. After the 4th game and he became eligible to join us all of a sudden we heard that he instead was putting himself into REHAB...prior to that he only went one day to rehab because the courts made that mandatory.
Once he did that his reinstatement was REVOKED. And he cannot ask for reinstatement until ONE YEAR from that time...which was AFTER our 4th game.
In March as usual Gordon is clueless of how it works (again I'm not sure but probably am close) he's thinking the new fiscal year starts everything anew. So he sent in a letter and it was refused to be reviewed.
Again the notification that Gordon's reinstatement is not under review "RIGHT NOW".
That tells me its a "WHEN" issue on them reviewing his application to get reinstated. Which I'm guessing is after our 4th game.
Jmho backed by common sense.

I don't know. The worst? Cousins didn't make his look good at all the other day for the little I watched. Looks like we write ff Gordon as well.

Just cut/end any relations with the guy, and let Gordon be somebody else's problem They can't. The collective bargaining agreement will not allow the Browns to cut anyone who is suspended by the League. If they want to or not, under the agreement, it can not happen.

Not sure anyone is really considering JG these days. Bonified loser material. A quote from Sashi "But at the NFL Combine in March, Browns head of football operations Sashi Brown left the door open a crack for Gordon's possible return. "Josh, assuming that he'd play at the level we started to see glimpses of last preseason, and certainly when he was in the league before, would be a talent I think no team in the NFL would turn down if he got back in," said Brown. "We're not in a position at wide receiver to turn down a guy like Josh if we feel like he's settled himself.'' http://www.cleveland.com/browns/index.ss...art_river_index

He isn't anyone's problem. He isn't a problem, issue, distraction, or a factor in anything. He's a non-entity that isn't in the league. We merely own his rights & contract at this point, but it pretty much looks like that will never play out to completion. He doesn't count toward anything - not the roster, nor the salary cap. He doesn't count, period. Basically, it isn't worth the ink or effort to file the paperwork to release him, and it doesn't hurt or impact us in any way to not do so. There is literally no point in even giving it any thought.
Browns is the Browns
... there goes Joe Thomas, the best there ever was in this game.
