quote by me a week ago regarding the Tribe's current road trip:

Quote:
If the Tribe can win 5 of the next eleven games (5-6). that'll be OK.

If they win 6 games in the next 11, it will be very good.

Tribe is 6-1 so far on this road trip.

We are in icing territory.

Is it me or does Clevinger look like he's got a brand new 'sleeve' on his glove arm with that salve on it?

Why would you do that kind of thing during the season? If indeed he did.

It's not new. He's had this tattoos for quite awhile. His most recent tattoo was the lotus flower over a month ago in honor of his daughter. It did not impact his pitching performance.

Hey did you notice Zimmer finally got his first hit of August?

After going 0-36. Ouch.

That's a lot of hitless at bats.

Let's hope he learns from it.

I have no idea why we ever traded for Bruce.

rofl wink

Man, he's been a great addition.

yeah I chuckle at everyone who thought it was questionable..lol, if you look at his career, he's been pretty consistent, and we gave up a ham sandwich to get him.. He's that lefty power we've needed in the lineup. he's great protection for EE, and since we got Bruce, EE has been on fire as well. win/win

7 wins on this road trip. (so far! - two games to go)

If you told me the Tribe would win 7 out of the next 11 games all on the road, I would have been ecstatic.

I would have said something like "The Tribe is starting to come together."

I've been as hard as anyone on the Dolans in the past, but I absolutely commend them for not being satisfied with being a swing away from a championship....

You go out and sign Edwin Encarnacion, and trade for Jay Bruce. I give them all the credit in the world for being agressive.

And the fans have answered, you're definitely seeing better crowds this year.

No Kiddin"!!!

Last year this time I was looking at attendance in the daily box scores and despite being first in the AL Central, Cleveland typically had the lowest attended home games.

Of everybody. Even teams that were like 20 games under .500.

Who'd a thought? Two years ago if I told you that the Dolans were going to be considered the best ownership group in Cleveland by now, you would of called me crazy. grin

I wonder if it's one of those perfect storm scenarios again? People might be getting tired of the Browns constant losing and the Cavs are getting harder and harder to root for these days. The Indians are just a fun team.

So here’s the thing about the Indians.

They can just keep sending quality starting pitchers up there. At least 4 out of every 5 starts.

Yesterday, Bauer goes 6 1/3 scoreless innings.

Today Salazer - who has not allowed more than 2 runs (any kind of runs) since May 27th.

I’m sure Royals fans will be fooled by Salazar’s 3.92 ERA. Salazar got shelled back in May when he pitched while injured, but after a stint on the DL he has been dominant.

that's true ... it's a luxury to have the depth of pitching the tribe does

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

That was a pretty solid team win there. I would like to see Clevinger get a little deeper in the game, but EE and Perez came through for us.

Go Tribe!!

Thanks GM.

I needed that.

And thanks Francona.

At least I have the Indians to be excited about this year.

Question:

Are the Indians' threads on DawgTalkers as good as any Indians Boards/Forums?

Not surprised about Miller, get him some rest. But, Salazar?

Just as long as they're both back in time to help us get into and through the post season.

hopefully its more precaution than anything. Tendonitis and soreness isn't uncommon in August

This comment was made August 5th:

Quote:
The thing is Sanchez hit 20 homers in only 201 at bats last year.

That's a Ruthian clip. (60 homers for a full season)

But he strikes out 1 out of every 4 at bats.

Yeah he's really tailed off this year. Still on pace for ~ 30 homers though.

I bet he continues a downward trend.

He needed more seasoning. Probably too late now.

Looks like offense crawled back in the hole. We just can't hit with RISP..Diaz and Gomes back to back...yuck. How nice would have been to still have Pomeranz on the team.

I think he just got robbed man...the guy beat the ball to second, he's on base and the guy gets him out just by continuing to hold the tag on him?

Nnnope.

Bauer is now a 13 game winner.

Carlos and Kluber can each keep pace with wins in their next starts. wink

I don't know how it is that Rajai Davis isn't on the team anymore, but I don't think that was a good idea. Had to big of a hit in Game 7 to be let go.
