No totality here. The "peak" eclipse was at 10:14. Overhyped.

Pretty hazy and cloudy here in Central Ohio. I think this was all a conspiracy to sell funny glasses.

I think that depends on why you're watching. When I think of an eclipse, I think of how it proved Einstein's general theory of relativity. That's underhyped.

I'm more looking forward to it being dark in the middle of the day.

So it happened. The biggest thing I noticed was how cold it got. The temperature dropped significantly. The other thing was that at totality the sun created this shimmering rippling light effect on the ground. Kinda cool.

Pretty hazy and cloudy here in Central Ohio. I think this was all a conspiracy to sell funny glasses. In the Greater Cleveland, Ohio area I think the eclipse was at about 88%, or thereabouts. I watched the total eclipse on youtube. It was okay, I guess... Honestly? You've seen one total eclipse, you've seen 'em all!

It was cool. There was only a tiny silver left. It didnt get completely dark here, but the light was very weird.

We had 100 percent, but of course, a dark cloud came by right then. Missed some of the light show, but it was still pretty cool. My son said he had a clear view at his house and it was awesome.

I'd be cussing up a storm if it was a total eclipse here and a random cloud covered it up right when it centered. But that would be Ohio weather for ya.

We had about 93% in Raleigh and it was pretty cool. What was most amazing was that with 93% of the sun blocked, it was still barely a noticeable change from broad daylight. Had my glasses, watched it from our 9th floor office balcony, which faces south. Neat event to have seen.

Almost totality in Salem Ore Nasa channel on dish = 286 Nasa Channel on direct tv = 352 If you miss this one you will have another chance in 2024 Smack dab over Clev. If you take this future one and overlay it over the one today, the only spot to be dead center for both is just south of Carbondale, Illinois. Fun fact.

You will be near ground zero for the next eclipse in 7 years as the shadow comes up from Mexico and travels to Maine.

My cousins live in Tennessee ... they had totality for about 2 mins. Based on their reports, it was dark, the temperature dropped 8 degrees, and BATS came out of the trees. Weird and cool
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

I'll be just inside the 'totality' if I'm still living here in Central Ohio then.

I got a chance to see it at work. I DVR'd the newscast of it. It was kind of funny watching the news people trying sensationalize watching it on TV. One crew was with a local astronomer. They asked him to explain what the viewers were going to see. He responds, "well, we're going to see the moon move in front of the sun." I think they were looking for a bit more. Then they sent a meteorologist to report from Wyoming where the eclipse was 100%. At the time that occurred, he said he was going to stop talking and let people take in the moment. As soon as he stopped, a guy back in the studio started blabbing. This guy wins the eclipse: Photo taken by Andrew Studer Visuals

"Shortly after a total solar eclipse swept across America on Monday, many eclipse gazers took to social media to complain about their eyes hurting or burning. For many viewers, that raised the question of whether they had permanently hurt their eyes by looking at the eclipse".
After weeks and weeks of warnings on all news outlets ...can you believe it?

For those of you who missed the eclipse and still want to see it just let me know. I will be glad to stand between you and the sun while mooning you myself. Your guaranteed to see a full eclipse but don't look directly at it or you will still go blind.

I've seen this photo floating around on social media and there is something about it that makes me question its legitimacy (eg. photoshopped). But, real or not...it is a beautiful image.
