Petition urging terror label for Antifa gets enough signatures for White House response

A petition put up just days ago urging the Trump administration to label the left-wing Antifa a “terror group” has attracted well over the 100,000 signatures needed to merit a formal White House response.

The left-wing group has been the subject of intense scrutiny in recent days after President Trump controversially blamed “both sides” for the violence in Charlottesville, where a counter-protester at a white supremacist rally was killed in a car attack.

Trump’s criticism of violence on the “alt-left” was seen as a swipe at groups like Antifa, whose “anti-facist” members have been known to clash with groups ranging from Trump supporters to white supremacists and neo-Nazis. Trump was hammered for seeming to equate Charlottesville counter-protesters with neo-Nazis – but in the days since, Antifa’s tactics at other rallies have been the subject of numerous media reports.

The same thing I always want to discuss. I want to discuss how our country's future is in doubt because of the extremity of our sides and how we need to make amends to somehow come together so we can prosper as a nation and continue to have the ability to fight off our enemies across the globe.

I don't think all of this in-fighting is a good thing. And I do know that we'll never completely solve the problem, but if both "sides" were willing to compromise a bit and become a bit more tolerant, than perhaps we could find some common ground and stop the this madness of ripping our country apart from the inside-out!

I'm good with them being labeled a domestic terror group? I have no issues with that at all. But even the KKK hasn't been labeled a domestic terror group and this administration hasn't publicly announced they don't want their support either, wonder why?

I do believe in uniting our country and have been arguing that point for quite awhile. You are talking about not having an open mind and arming yourself.

If by chance you are asking me to be so open minded as to accept lies over truths, fairy tails over known facts of life, Dreams over Common Sense or that free speech is not free for everyone, while I suffer under others forcing their ideas on me, without even a vote, then stuff it!

I think most democrats will have no problem with this group being classified a terror group. I don't see a debate unless you guys think the KKK and others fascists terror groups including the neo nazi's and the alt right should not carry the same terrorist label. Classify them all as terror groups and let the cops and the FBI go arrest some left wing nuts and some Nazi's racists. Lock em up.
