My goodness Roberto Aguayo missed his first kick with CHI ... and it was ugly

This is exactly why STATS ARE FOR LOSERS ...
My boy Mitch went 6 - 8 for 60 yards a td and no picks ...
VERY VERY DECEIVNG ..
He played bad IMO ...
He threw as late as I've ever seen to the outside ... CB was there and waiting before the camera even got there .. should have been picked ...
His td pass was wide open and he threw it 10 yards in the air ..
His completions were catchable but not good throws ... only 1 maybe 2 were hit in stride ... the others were slightly behind, low ... they were all catchable balls .. just not good throws ...
He was also sacked twice ... on one he held the ball to long ...
And i feel sorry for him ... he went to IMO one of the two or three worst laces he could for a QB ... and last night just re-enforced my beliefs ...
They have no clue how to handle a qb ... they don't invest in OL EVER ... its a bad org. And he's stuck with it ...

Looking forward to the Falcons/Steelers game today. James Conner is slated to get his first reps Good NFL story but as a player, I do not think James Conner is very good. If they are going to try and replace Williams with Conner, they are going to be in trouble. I think Dayes is better than Conner. Maybe even much better.
you had a good run Hank.

The Steeler D is getting torched by the Falcons. Ryan, Schaub, and Simms have all abused the secondary. Josh Dobbs looks lost. I liked the kid in college. New he'd be a project. Sad that now I have to root for him to fail. Oh well.
Go Browns.

Kamara for the saints has really looked electric He looked really quick, against us as well... Christian mcaffery...man his gear is insane, something the Panthers have lacked outside of Ted Ginn...but man he looked solid size is college, looks very small in the NFL...then again I'm surprised by this every year... If KC doesn't keep all four backs...Spiller and West have looked dynamite (ware and hunt already have spots locked up) Bruce Ellington played well for the Texans... Bears RBs are deep...I really like Kadeem Carey if he gets cut...does everything well, just not superb...

So the the Broncos drafted Paxton Lynch in the first round and he can't beat out Trevor Siemian heading into his second season. That's not a good sign.

I watched Watson's 2 games (those 'every throw' videos), and I was really unimpressed. I don't think he made a single "100%" completion. His receivers had to reach up/down/back for all of his throws. I don't think a single reception was put in the ideal spot for his guy to just catch it and take off.
He also seemed to get happy feet.

I think almost everyone who followed Lynch said that he needed 2-3 years to sit and learn.
Not sure how this is news?

Not sure how this is news? Because usually first round picks beat out average QBs. They also don't usually sit for [almost] two years. It's weird. For reference, here is the draft thread on Lynch: https://www.dawgtalkers.net/ubbthreads.php/topics/1104468/paxton-lynch#Post1104468

(Just to be clear, I never said Paxton Lynch was a finished product. I said that he couldn't beat out Trevor Siemian and that that was weird because he was/is a first round pick.)

Not sure how this is news? There is a difference between "news" and "common sense." Yes, the word on Lynch is that he needs a couple of years. But very few guys taken in the first two rounds actually get that kind of time before getting the call. The favorite player on the team is the backup qb. When the starter is less than great, then the people call for the next guy. This story about Lynch not winning the job should not be news, but it is. Because there are "experts" who remember where he was taken and not the scouting report.

Chad henne got the start over Bortles.
makings of a complete bust.

Bortles was a guy that almost everyone said needed time to learn when he came out of college.
Experts agreed that he should sit a couple of years because he didn't have to call plays in the huddle, didn't take snaps under center, didn't have to make a ton of reads, or even utilize a snap count.
Jax started him day one. And the kid has actually regressed the last couple of years.
Not sure why, but it sounds familiar...

Not sure why, but it sounds familiar... Yeah, it does sound familiar. I do think that we're in a tough spot because Kizer surely isn't "ready" .... but the other two are just THAT bad. He's the "best" option now, even though it may hurt his career arc.

I don't think Brock got enough snaps to prove anything.
I am not going to whine and moan about the decision because Hue and his coaching staff see these guys every day and know way more than any of us do.
I just feel it is a risky move that could hinder the kid's development, as well as raise eyebrows in the locker room.
However, you never know.........the kid might light it up. I'm hoping that is the case.
One last thing........I sure as hell hope the FO isn't behind this move.

j/c...my son who talks to me about Fantasy as in who is decent on the Browns mostly...lol
I feel bad for him cause he has Cam Newton (who I believe is hurt), Bortles lol well enough said and on that enough said he also has Kessler, figuring he started 8 games last year and he would be better this year. smh...he's scrambling for a QB now. Glad I don't do Fantasy...

Who was the vet starter? Was it Henne to begin with?

Thanks for the correction. And yes, it does sound familiar. Rushing to play a qb who isn't ready--just because the other guy isn't that good--is not a good idea. I think Bortles needs to go somewhere and sit behind a guy for a couple of years. A place like Pittsburgh. Sit and watch a guy like Ben. Learn as much as he can. Work on his mechanics and reads. Rebuild his confidence. He clearly has the physical skills. He just needs some time.

Rebuild his confidence. He clearly has the physical skills. He just needs some time. The Jaguars had a stated plan with Bortles. They were not going to play him his rookie season ( http://jacksonville.com/opinion/blog/400...redshirt-season). Once Henne was bad, they panicked and threw Bortles in before they had originally wanted. It seems as if DeShone Kizer is more ready than Bortles was. He has always had the chance to win the starting job from the time he was drafted. I'm going to trust Hue Jackson on this one. (I totally disagree on Bortles (surprise!). I think he his toast. He has been in the league four years now and still can't read a defense. That's a fatal flaw. I don't think he has the brain to play the position in the NFL. That may be because he was forced into action to early or maybe he was never good enough. Either way, I wouldn't touch him unless I was someone like Bruce Arians, Kyle Shanahan, or Adam Gase.)

Thing that bothered me with Bortles coming out was his horrible feet and a crappy windup. He never really showed any improvement in this area when he was named the starter. Similar to Paxton and i was a big fan of paxton coming out but he like Bortles was atleast a 2 year project.
Kizer had really amazing upper body mechanics but horrible feet. Looked like a giraffe on roller skates. When you only have the feet to correct, it makes the coaches job so much easier. Its why I actually thought Mason Rudolph very easily could be the best QB in the country. Upper mechanics are flawless and he has tremendous accuracy when his feet are set but like Kizer, his feet are everywhere.
Can he maintain his feet under pressure? We will know soon enough.

I think Pittsburgh, Arizona, SF, Miami, and maybe even the Giants would be good landing places for Bortles. I disagree w/anyone who says he doesn't have talent.
