I thought the biggest problem with Chinese food was that no matter how much you ate, you were still hungry half an hour later...

My Mom always told me to finish off my plate because there were starving people in China.
Now I know why.

When you visit China.....you have no idea what you will get on your plate..it could be dog............it could be cat......it could be monkey! Well that is the way it is in Hong Kong......as well as other Asian countries.....just have to be careful what you order over there!

I just came back to Hong Kong from Rizhao, PRC, which is in the Shandong Province.
My Chinese business partners there took me to several places and we ate very well..... it is more where you choose to buy your food, like anywhere else.
I mean, why would you, in any country, go into a place as described in this article and order food?
BTW...it is not that way in Hong Kong these days, or at least in the last five years. It is illegal to serve dog, and any establishment found doing so will be shut down quickly by the police now.
Other Asian countries are the same in the aspect that, if you travel to a remote village, say in Quezon Province, Philippines, you could be very well eating a mystery meat... but if you go to the Intercontinental in Manila, I would put their meals right up there with a majority of class hotels in the States.
