Some of us considered Peppers possibility at FS.

Can you or one of the others explain what you mean by "kick"?
I'm not familiar with that term and hadn't come across that original post you are referencing back to.
I have not been able to see enough of kizer to pay attention to his mechanics closely but I am hoping to. This would be helpful for me.

Thanks guys

Interesting. What are the implications? I suppose it could predispose to injury if he gets hit shortly after throwing. How does that "kick" affect his throwing?

if I had my way, we'd cut Britt and just roll with younger guys. But his contract makes that unfeasible

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

A few days late, but here's my thoughts:

- I really liked what I saw out of Kizer. I want to agree with what Ammo said, as I think the coaches were telling him to throw it downfield and test it out. He didn't scramble at all and he rarely threw a short pass. I think the gameplan was to test out the long stuff.

- What I really like about Kizer is not just the arm strength, but the pocket awareness. He seems to float around the pocket and out of the way of oncoming rushers really well. I think it's something a lot of our QBs in the past have lacked. They would stand in there, let the pocket collapse around them and get into trouble. Kizer seems to sense where the rush is coming from and moves up and out of the way, giving himself another second or two.

- I don't want to break down every throw of his, but I liked what I saw most of the time. He really only had the two bad throws, and I think both times he stared the receiver down. The stat lines wasn't impressive, but most of his passes were deep balls and many of those were catch-able and/or something that could of been called for PI.

- The defense is fun to watch! Garrett isn't getting huge "numbers" yet, but you can see him causing problems already for opposing offenses. When Joe Haden is our biggest worry on Defense, we know we've improved.

good point about Garrett EXCL ... the dude was triple teamed in the one clip ... yeah, he didn't get a sack, but that is impressive for a rookie. He has the skillset to be very good, if not great

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

The bad news, we're only averaging 14.3 points per game on offense.
The good news, we're averaging 9.6 points per game on defense.

If that ratio holds up, we'll win a lot more than 1 game this season.

Anyone this the ratio or specific numbers stay the same?

Compared to previous seasons, that's the "Greatest Show on Turf"

The "kick" was just part of it. We had what I thought was a very good thread on Kizer's accuracy issues and if Hue could fix them. I think it would be easiest for you to just read it. It might help answer some of your questions.

I've said several times in the past "you can't tell how good a team will be in preseason, but you can tell how bad they'll be".

Last year's team, and even the couple of years before that, fit the second half of that, completely. In preseason, you could see that things were just going to be bad. This team (finally) fits the first half of that..... we are likely still going to end the season with a poor record (I'm still predicting a Top 5 pick next April), but they could just as easily be far better than that -- and, maybe, shock the world.

Browns is the Browns

i think if we some how some way beat Pitt.wk. one that would shock the football world

Last year I could not stomach this team. Went to the bar maybe twice to watch them.

This year I feel pretty pumped. The defense looks to be much improved. Amd Kizer is fun to watch. Its a young team, no doubt
But they have a lot of sizzle instead of fizzle.

Finally watched the entire game. Some thoughts:

--Pretty boring all the way around.

--OL blocked very well for Kizer. He had all day to throw and huge pockets.

--Kize made a couple of throws that made my jaw drop. That throw to Coleman down the sideline was awesome.

--Kize was innacurate much of the night and I don't get all the praise he is receiving.

--Kessler is who I said he was.

--Hogan made the best throws overall.

--Hall looked okay to me. Didn't have the numbers, but I liked his quickness coming out of his breaks.

--Not sure why Duke gets so much love.

--Reading the board, I thought Peppers made a great pick, but his coverage wasn't good. The ball was overthrown.

--Nassib flashed.

--Tampa Bay rested a ton of their starters on both O and D.

--Officials made some weird calls against TB late in the game.

--Too many penalties.

--Schobert looked pretty good again. He seems to be a different player from last year when he rarely stood out.

--Njoku or whatever his name is looked pretty bad.

--Parkey seems like he is kicking better, but given the brief history of the FO, that probably won't matter.

Joe S. has gotten better. If might be the scheme, but what a shocker if a guy shows significant improvement in his second year. Who could have predicted that?

Dayes is a keeper, Kizer will need time, but that first-quarter throw to Coleman was sweet. He shows potential for sure.

Hall I think will make the team. D looks fast and has an attitude. People should be patient with Britt, too early to write him off.

Before the Browns kept the Buccaneers out of the end zone last week, TB scored at least 1 TD in 43 straight games, including the preseason.

I was pretty down on him and the pick last season, because I did not see him in our 34 D, but I think that he is the most improved player from last years Draft and others have looked better in this defense too.

I finally got the chance to watch the game.

I understand why Kizer is the QB.

Hogan looks better than Kessler. Sigh.

I love the Defense. Shobert is the starter. The defense plays fast and hard. There is not much drop off to the second team. The defense is aggressive. There is much to like.

The TE's are a problem. They can't catch a cold.

Nassib and Ogbah will have better second years.

It looks like Coleman is the only WR. The rest are meh.

All of a sudden, last years draft is looking better.

Welcome back, Joe, we missed you!
