First grader sent to office for 'misgendering' fellow student

A first grader at a California charter school was sent to the principal’s office this week after she accidentally “misgendered” a classmate in what’s being called a “pronoun mishap.”

The incident occurred at Rocklin Academy, a school roiled by controversy after a kindergarten teacher led an in-class discussion on transgenderism that included a “gender reveal” for a little boy who was transitioning to a little girl.

Parents were furious because they were not informed in advance and were not given the chance to opt their five-year-olds from the classroom transgender activity. However, school leaders informed moms and dads – they were not allowed to opt-out – and the state did not require them to notify parents.

The latest incident occurred during the first week of school when a first grader came across a classmate on the playground. She called the student by his given name – apparently unaware that the boy now identified as a girl.

“This innocent little first grader sees a classmate, calls him by the name she knew him last year and the boy reports it to a teacher,” Capitol Resource Institute’s Karen England told me. “The little girl gets in trouble on the playground and then gets called out of class to the principal’s office.”

Capitol Resource Institute is a California-based public policy group that specializes in strengthening families. And they are working with a number of parents at Rocklin Academy upset about the LGBT agenda being forced on their children.

I reached out to Rocklin Academy numerous times, but they did not return my calls.

England said the first grader was investigated by the principal to determine whether or not she had bullied the transgender child by calling him by his original name. After about an hour it was determined the little girl made an honest mistake and she was not punished or reprimanded.

But she was terribly traumatized by the incident, England said.

“The daughter came home from school upset and crying – saying, ‘Mommy, I got in trouble at school today,’” England told me.

The little girl’s mother, who asked not to be identified, immediately contacted the school to find out what had happened.

“She was told that whenever there is a pronoun mishap with this biological boy who now claims to be a girl -- the school must investigate,” England said.

Capitol Resource Institute provided me with a letter the mother wrote – expressing her extreme concern over how the situation was handled.

“I stressed over and over with the principal that I am all for protecting the rights of [the transgender child], but my children have rights as well,” the parent wrote. “It makes me sad that my daughter felt like she was punished for trying to be kind to the kid.”

England said Alliance Defending Freedom, a nationally-known religious liberty law firm, is currently investigating the playground incident as well as the classroom lesson on gender identity.

“Our focus is on ensuring that every student’s privacy is protected and that parental rights, including the right to be notified that before children are exposed to gender identity teaching, are respected by the school officials,” an ADF spokesman told me.

What’s happening at Rocklin Academy is an example of how schools have become indoctrination grounds for the LGBT agenda.

And the only way to stop the indoctrination is for moms and dads to take a stand.

It may be unpleasant and it may be uncomfortable, but we’ve got to stand up to these activist bullies.

Let's set aside the terrible crime of misgendering for the time being, and think about whether or not it is really a good idea for a confused little boy to become a girl.

Most likely, irreparable physical harm will be done via pumping the transgender child full of exotic chemicals and hormones. Horror stories abound, from micropenises (due to lack of testosterone from chemical treaments during the growth phase) to soaring rates of depression and attempted suicide.

Schools always have over the top reactions. I didn't see any of you conservatives whining when some of the schools sent home girls from school cause their dress showed too much shoulder.

Accidentally "misgendering" someone shouldn't be a crime or even a faux pas for that matter. Many fully grown adults, in good faith, get confused about what gender a transgender individual is, what they started out as, and what they should be called. To put this burden on a first grader and then send him to the principal if he gets it wrong is crazy.

That wasn't even the crux of my post though. I think it is crazy that we allow six year olds to go through the sex change process. It will most likely affect the child's life in a dramatically negative way, when most kids in this child's situation grow out of their confusion anyway.

We let children be actors and actresses, that could screw them up for years afterward. What's his face from home alone is a shining example of many. I could list so many kids that are drug addicts now due to crap like divorce or sexual abuse.

The school had an over the top reaction to something stupid.

But for the issue itself, as long as the kid isn't being forced, then guess what Haus?

So I decided to do a search to see if I can get another view of this. Nothing from anywhere. Not Brietbart, not Infowars (they like this kind of stuff)

I can't say for sure if this is just garbage not based in fact, but I can't substantiate this either. Nobody, not even the fact check sites have anything on this.

What I have been able to find is that Todd Starnes has an agenda. And I think (mind you I'm saying I think, I can't prove) that he's putting things out there that are designed to create bias.

Personally, I can admit that the whole transgender thing is pretty weird to me. However, it's a thing. And people have the right to live how they want to live. The big question for me is a kid in kindergarten really able to intelligently decide if they want to be a different gender. My inclination is that no...they can't. As they get older, sure but in kindergarten, I just don't see it.

The gender and sexual orientations issues today is the race issue of years past. Its about treating people as people without any sort of prejudicial lens. Even if we may personally feel a little uncomfortable with it, we should acknowledge its a part of the world today and accept it as such.

That is how America used to be, live and let live.

You say live and let live. So if a transgender person wants to be live as the opposite sex as they were born into, why not let them? You act like if a boy and a girl use the same washroom or locker room that sex and rape and depravity is instantly going to ensue...much less someone who lives as the same sex.

Here's a fun little redirect. Should gay people be allowed to use the same washrooms and change rooms? After all, they are in the same vicinity as their sexual desire. Isn't that far worse than a transgender person who has zero sexual desire towards their locker room companions?

You may be able to justify the abuse of children in your own mind by comparing it to the Civil Rights movement but I will not stand by while kids are abused.

So far you're sitting by your keyboard, not standing.

Then you should stop spreading so much hate. We are all people, trying to live our lives our way. What the "other" does, does not have to affect you and yours. But maybe, just maybe, somewhere near you there is a transgender kid/adult that wants some acceptance too.

Personally I don't get it either, but my body doesn't work that way. I was born male and have always felt like a male. I was born straight and have always felt straight. I was born white and will always be white. So my experiences don't always allow me to understand the "other", but that doesn't mean they don't have the same rights and protections under the law AND under common decency to each other.

Or maybe there is some rule in your life that makes it ok for you to impose your beliefs, morality, and narrow minded social views on EVERYBODY ELSE? Trump being President for a short time does not count as a reason.

I will look it up when I have time bro But I can say that On May 13th 2016, the Obama administration warned public schools that they must allow transgender students to use the bathrooms and locker rooms of the gender with which they identify.
