I guess we'll make a thread to keep track of who we release through tomorrow.

Browns cut Kitt O'Brien, according to a source
— Aaron Wilson (@AaronWilson_NFL) September 1, 2017

He's been a yoyo the past few weeks with us

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Hue stated he is meeting with Sashi and Berry and they will make the decisions and make up of our roster.

I'm sure we will do some more cuts as we will add a couple of players for the bottom of our barrell! I'm saying after we make the 53 man roster we won't be 100% done...I keep forgetting posters can't read my mind saywhat

Obviously, you don't have to answer this question, but I have been curious as all get out as to how you make dozens of posts during the day as a teacher? I never posted one time during working hours when I was a teacher, nor did I ever write a personal email or check the news, etc.

Just wondering how you find the time to do these things while teaching?

What does that have to do with the thread topic? The third post in the thread. You whizz and moan about being tired of reading a topic/post that FOLLOWS the darn thread title...then throw out a post like this. Do you own a mirror?

I wouldn't be upset if someone like Leslie made the team over Higgins.

Agreed. I like Louis, Hall, and Austin over Higgins and Peyton.

I hope Leslie makes the team, but I can't see him and what's his name, ("""ar-nel""",cant' remember sounding it out) both making the team.

What's his name returns kicks, Leslie doesn't, but I think Leslie is a true receiver and if he got a shot, after his 3rd time trying to make some team, he'd put a lot of effort to make it and stay for next year.

I'd be upset...

Oh I Don't know, THE BROWNS HAD THE 4TH BEST CORNERBACK IN THE ENTIRE NFL! JUST 9 DAYS BEFORE THEY PLAY THE STEELERS, IF THEY
If they could have just waited,(actually 11 days) before they cut him, they wouldn't have to play against their own best player, in their HOME OPENER vs a division opponent.

logic: If They cut Joe Haden, there's no way in Heck I can believe they are trying to win a SuperBowl this year.
If they aren't trying to win a Super Bowl, then I don't know why anybody buys tickets.

Still like the kid #83 Mullaney , don't think he got enough reps to have a shot at the roster .. excellent route runner , Hands and good blocker .

I believe we are currently at 82 players. Cutting 29 dudes in one day is rough (and a few more after that after some waiver claims/trades).

I thought Shult played very well. But, he wasn't drafted by this FO........so, it was almost a given he would be cut.

Mullaney is probably the biggest loss on that list.

Hated to see Mullaney go but who knows could be a good practice squad candidate. no real surprise with anyone else. I imagine we may try to get down today. less to deal with as we try to sign 4 or 5 from other teams. work some trades as well. Would cut it down to 50 today and go from there.

Probably not. We are very deep on the defensive line and there are other guys we will cut that we would probably like on the practice squad over him.

I don't know. I hope so.

There was a poster who just joined and was a fan of another team, but he posted this chart that had Shult's effectiveness during the preseason. I wish I could remember what thread that was on.

Just looking to talk about cut day. You said the front office won't cut anyone they've drafted. They just cut Trey Caldwell, who they drafted.

I think that chart was from before the last game where he had his best game as well. Not sure it's the fairest comparison as I don't know how they would account for the quality of competition, but would have liked to get him to the practice squad. He likely played too well against CHI to not get picked up by someone else, though.

Hope Schult makes the practice squad, couldn't see who we cut to keep him but he did more than enough to make the team imho.

Man, wasn't Stevan Ridley the starter for the Patriots for a season or two?

For several years yes...as they featured him a few years with Shane Vereen as well..

He had I believe an ACL injury...has never fully recovered from it...as I thought he would be a good option for us in FA a couple years ago as he would be an ideal goal line back...however I believe he bounced around the Jets, Lions and Broncos...for some odd reason he can't regain his form prior to injury...

Shame he's a really great person and stays out of trouble by hunting all the time...good ole country boy

Likewise. Guessing they are trying to sneak him on the P.S. in the massive wave of initial cuts?

Interested who makes it between Orchard and Holmes. Thought Schult played his way into that conversation.

Does Will Blackmon still return punts/kicks? I remember that was his calling coming out of BC and why he has lasted in the league for many years...as he can be your returner, #4 CB, and play FS...wonder if we will look at him

Then again I haven't seen him play since he was in Green Bay.
