The Browns also signed TE J.P. Holtz, LB Deon King, RB Terrence Magee and DB Najee Murray to the team’s practice squad. All four were with the Browns this preseason and were waived during final roster cuts.

When does the dust settle on our PS as far as people on it and getting to its limit? Or does it?

I'm assuming that another 24 hours from now more moves can be made based on who was cut today.

Yeah, I'm guessing we would like to have the guys we cut today (Holmes, Higgins, Nacua, and Burley) on the practice squad

love to get Holmes, Nacua, Murray back

Sorry, we already have Murray on the practice squad. The fourth guy we cut was Marcus Burley.

I'm hoping either Hall or Leslie make it to the PS.

I thought it was strange that they cut Leslie after he had a pretty big game against Chicago. The practice squad makes sense though.

Ah...the last thread for me to get to. The one I was looking for. So we got 4 on the P/squad.

What is the maximum P/squad, rules change just wondering 6,
8???

thnks in advance whoever can advise me. Ok I do know how to Google...lol laugh So 6 more!

Two years ago, the NFL and the NFL Players Association agreed to a temporary expansion of the practice squad to ten players. That expansion was set to expire this year, but was renewed in the offseason. That will allow each team to carry 10 additional players throughout the season.

I'd love to have Leslie on the PS. Thought for sure he had a roster spot, but nope.

Same here (and Hall actually). I thought they deserved a spot

If some of these guys were asgood as some think, they would have been picked up.

Yes,...there's that, but I think that unlike the Coaching staff, they put too much into their production vs less than pro level talent in most cases.

I don't think either player has signed with anyone yet.

Happens every year. See: Lenz, Josh.

I still hear about that one to this day from some people.

Great. He was my choice to make the team as an UDFA .... and he did ... for a few minutes, anyway.

I think that he has real ability as a deep center field type FS.

No offense, but I thought the dude was awful in preseason. I was watching him because some of you hyped him. He was terrible.

I liked the guy we waived who got injured much more.

Browns officially add two more players to practice squad; S Kai Nacua will also sign
6 comments
The practice squad should be all filled up by Tuesday.
by Chris Pokorny@DawgsByNature Sep 4, 2017, 7:49pm EDT

https://www.dawgsbynature.com/2017/9/4/1...-will-also-sign

On Monday, the Cleveland Browns announced the signing of two more players to their practice squad:

OL Travis Averill
LB B.J. Bello

That brings the club’s total to six players, with RB Terrence Magee, TE J.P. Holtz, OLB Deon King, and CB Najee Murray having been previously announced. Bello was with the team all of camp. Averill (6-3, 295 lbs) is an undrafted free agent center/guard out of Boise State who spent all of camp with the Atlanta Falcons.

What about the other four spots on the practice squad? At least one of them will be taken by FS Kai Nacua, who went unclaimed on waivers Monday:

One can only assume that the other three spots will go to WR Rashard Higgins, DE Tyrone Holmes, and CB Darius Hillary, all of whom also cleared waivers on Monday.

If you’re wondering about all of the other players who Cleveland waived this weekend, the only person who ended up getting signed to another team’s practice squad is OL Anthony Fabiano, who signed with Washington. I believe the Browns wanted to retain him, so if he chose Washington, that would explain the lone outside player (Averill) being signed to the squad.

That would be great. McGill might only be around until Shelton is ready to go and Lord knows we are thin @ CB.

It's pretty surprising that Holmes cleared waivers. He had a pretty good preseason and we are pretty deep at the position.

We released him from the IR. I think it is obvious why he is not here. Nobody should be picking him up soon and we always could sign him if he gets healthy...unless there is some rule that we cannot???

Wow, did anyone responded Snarky...lol laugh

The Cleveland Browns have signed WR Rashard Higgins, DB Darius Hillary and DB Kai Nacua to the practice squad.

All three were with the team this preseason. Higgins was a fifth-round draft pick last year and appeared in 15 games. Hillary spent nine weeks on the Browns’ practice squad in 2016. Nacua is an undrafted free agent out of Brigham Young.

The Browns’ practice squad currently stands at nine members.

Just a guess but maybe they keep that final spot open for a QB, either the one they just signed or Kessler/Hogan. But I guess you could always add now and cut again later is that ends up being the case.
