We all know the incentives for us to root against Houston. Honestly, their home game against JAX was one of their easier games on the schedule. Their offense looked pretty bad and they will most likely look to play Watson from now on (who, IMO, looks less ready than Kizer). They go to CINCY this week on short rest. Is there a chance that they could be one of the worst teams in the NFL?

Their schedule is pretty difficult too, especially since they play INDY both times so late when Luck will be back. Here's their full schedule:

Jacksonville - LOSS
at Cincinnati
at New England
Tennessee
Kansas City
Cleveland
at Seattle
Indianapolis
at LA Rams
Arizona
at Baltimore
at Tennessee
San Francisco
at Jacksonville
Pittsburgh
at Indianapolis

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Will luck be back, though?

Also, cincy looked like hot garbage. Dalton had 5 turnovers (4 int, one fumble), but it's the first game of the season.

They have weapons, and their defense should be good as the season goes on.

Obviously I hope their trash that way we can have a high draft pick, but again, it's the first game of the season, and I. Houstons case, you have to wonder if the hurricane was a major thing on their minds.

Knee jerk reaction.....I think Bill O'Brien is in alot of trouble.

I feel you, and it depends on if he has to deal with another QB circus again, or if Watson can take over the spot and actually solidify the position for a change.

But let's not forget that they keep winning that division even with trash QB play. However, in the next 3-4 games, were gonna see if obrien can actually earn the QB quru label.

I questioned why some people thought we would lose to them in the Browns record prediction thread. Houston has a great defense but they have one the worst OLines in the league and their best player on the OLine LT Duane Brown is a hold out. Plus add into the fact that they have no QB and WR Will Fuller is out for another 2 months. I actually see us having a better season then them.

I wouldn't bring Luck back at all this season if this is how bad the Colts are. He'll just end up taking unnecessary hits during a 4-12 season.

I see nothing that says that Watson will wind up being any kind of solid pro. He makes a big play here or there, but then struggles on the next 3-6 plays. His decision making process seems to be really slow, and reading the defense doesn't seem to have sunk in at all yet. We'll see what he becomes, but I was glad we passed on him.

And he's hurt now too.

The Texans defense is still very good, it will win them quite a few games (like it did last year).

hadn't seen that he was injured. Gonna be tough for them to win in Cincy on short notice ... although, Cincy looked atrocious

right, but everything you said could be argued that it also applies to Kizar, struggled a few plays, made slow reads, etc.

he also benefits from having a way better defense than we do, as of now, and an actual #1 WR developed already.

houston's OL is trash, and watson kept plays alive with his legs.

not defending watson persay even though i wanted him on this team, but he showed just as much potential as kizer did in their first games. the biggest difference is that watson plays in the AFC south, which is weaker than the AFC north.

all he has to do is be better than Brock...and that isn't really asking a whole lot. Their defense will carry that team, so i dunno if it's fair to say houston has a problem with only one week in the books.

Houston does have a rookie QB and that's always a bit tough as it will be for us as well at times.

Sometimes people go overboard and look at week 1 as some long range indicator of the season. Often times it really isn't. It's a snapshot not a feature length film.

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

The game needs to slow down for all rookie QB's including DK. It probably won't start slowing down for him until maybe mid-season. It's just part of the learning process.

one of those players is brian Cushing.

every freaking year this dude gets a concussion or some sort of injury.

Watt also has a hand injury... a broken finger, I think?

I hate to admit it but I am even rooting for the scratch head Bengals Thursday. Would love to see the Browns picking in the top 5 next year with another teams pick not their own,

Yeah, I'm kinda with you on that one. I'm hoping that my love of the Browns and their future will be able to overpower my loathing of that team.

With their 1st and their 2nd round picks, I want Houston to lose every game. wink

Dream scenario (not realistic.)

1) Kizer completes the season looking like our franchise QB.
2) Houston has a terrible season and ends up with the 1st overall pick.

We end up with the golden ticket and we don't even need it = king's ransom.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up too much, but your dream scenario seems a lot more possible now than it was before the games on Sunday.

Watson is starting this week.

https://twitter.com/AroundTheNFL/status/907728462990819329

It's a short week for them (they play Thursday) and he has a bum ankle. That is not a recipe for success. Add in Bill O'Brien's history with QBs and I don't see this trending in the right direction.

he might still come out fine.

bigger questions is how many picks will Dalton throw on thursday? he already leads the league.

Watson will wind up on crutches or on the bench eventually. He isn't close to being the answer and is only in their because their line stinks and he's mobile. If he's got a bum ankle, he screwed.

Their defense will right the ship soon.... I think it was too emotional this game for them... Don't know if they will be better against cincy but the defense has potential to be very good.... Offense...oh man.... First they need to give brown a contract and get his ass back in camp... Their line is awful...its brown (who is holding out) the center (whose name escapes me) and some scrubs.... They have a Cole decent running backs... Johnson is fantastic at times but has some major drops at times... Fuller is good but hurt right now... Braxton Miller has potential but hasn't shown much... Their tight ends are decent but right now all have concussions.... And the. QB.... Why the hell did OB give savage so many first team reps just to pull him after a half... And he hasn't named a starter yet?!? Wtf?!? Just got with Watson and get it over with.... Watson is clearly better but will have his screw ups....

This team is tough to judge... Has potential to have a fantastic defense but their offense could either be good or awful....

Edit: saw Watson is starting... Which is the right move but he shod have made that move weeks ago to give him the reps...
