Not sure why they sent Santana there, maybe it was just morbid curiosity to see if he could get the in-the-parker.

nice to have records of dominance as opposed to records of futility in cleveland again. So have they started on the Francona statue yet?

I guess that's kinda what I was wondering.

I thought the game was over a bit ago, come on here and people still "hoping", etc.

Had to go back to the sports updates to see if the game was still going on 15 minutes ago or what.

During the streak of 21 straight wins, they have played 189 innings and ONLY trailed in 4 of them, that is amazing.

Roberto Perez is batting over .400 during the streak.

There are just so many great things during this streak.

I corrected it to the Dodgers because home field advantage in the WS is no longer determined by the All Star game.

21!!

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Could not disagree with you more.

The playoffs and and winning the World Series is a crap shoot.

Often the best team does not win because of the randomness of the game. So many weird things can happen. Example: last year the Indians had home field advantage because of the All Star game. (that will no longer happen). Because of that Kyle Schwarber got to DH (he was unable to play the field because of injury). Schwarber recorded seven hits, including one double, two RBIs, and one stolen base while batting for a .412 batting average and maintaining a .500 on-base percentage.

I lived in Atlanta from 1978 to 2014. The Braves won 14 straight division championships. an incredible feat that will most likely never happen again in any sport.

The fact they only won one World Series does not take away a thing from the sustained excellence for 14 years straight.

It is easy to just say that the championship is all that counts. That is simply not true.

When you look at the history of baseball no team has done what the Indians have accomplished.

You of course can look at this any way you want.

However, your opinion will not change history.

Hopefully the Tribe will win all this year but even if that does not happen it will not tarnish this streak.

So it looks like the Indians road to World Series Champions is:

Winning 3 games in an “American League Divisional Series”

Winning 4 games in the “American League Championship Series”

Winning 4 games in the World Series.

Is this right?

Tough order.

I wonder what Francona is thinking.

I can guess.

He’s taking a careful inventory of the players he will have available. Trying to get them as ready as possible for this brutal stretch run.

He has been thinking about what to do with which players when.

He's assumed a new identity under the Federal Witness Protection Program.

This streak and winning in front of fans has Chief Wahoo smiling for a ton of good reasons.

Just do it again today. I can't imagine this pressure. I also do not want to peak too early and snuff out in The Run.

C'mon Tribe! We got this one today. Good luck! Be a winner today.

today's the last big one in terms of pressure IMO ... obviously until the playoffs. If we win today, everything else is just gravy.

The last and only time Jake Junis faced the Indians was August 28th and the Tribe won 10-1.

For the day, Junis lasted 2.1 innings, 4 earned runs on 5 hits. He walked 1 and struck out 3.

Tomlin pitched his only complete game of the season against the Royals this year on May 28th in a 10-1 Indians win.

Go Tribe!

I'm not sure.

I was thinking just the opposite.

1) The record is in hand.
2) The greatest pitchers in the history of baseball sometimes lose unpredictably.
3) Some one is gonna lose.

I sense there's much less pressure to win now.

This could even contribute to the streak.

And geez, the Indians batters go up there just licking their chops!

You guys are right. I think.

I watch on MLB.com and have on some occasions went over to ESPN MLB to view box scores of other games and noticed, "Hey, the Indians only have one out."

Or it could be that my perception of reality operates on a 5 minute delay.
