- Kizer is much more raw than Hue wants to acknowledge.
- Hogan scored points and is basically a rookie too, QB controversy? I doubt that, but I would have left him in.
- The D looked gassed most of the day. They played tough but was expecting them to be tougher, expecting too much.
- This loss is on Hue and nobody else.

You can not survive 5 turnovers, and way to many penalties.
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

Kizer is a rookie and is learning. He's going to have a lot more stinkers.
Crow should only run downhill, I hate the side runs.
I think balt watched a lot of film from the pitt game and figured out how to attack william's D.
It's going to be a long year ladies and gentlemen. The good news is they have lots of assets to help get more talent.
We're trying to throw the ball downfield and he checked the ball down to Trent Richardson and the Indians on the choice.

coleman only getting 1 catch while being our 1st pick is kinda odd. crow getting 10 carries with a rookie qb...odd.
odd = poor playcalling.
I`m good with Baker... Playoffs is good enough for me.

I think Kizer has a ways to go. He throws a lot of high passes (gonna get a receiver killed) throws into coverage, holds on to the ball...
what I am not sure of is how much that is on him or on Hue's play designs i.e. are they taking too long to develop.
Not sure why we have rb's on the team when we don't produce
Too many drops Too many penalties
I think our next two games should be more interesting. I'd like to see what lessons we learned from this beating.

Post Game thoughts....
1. We need a OC 2. We need a OC 3. We need a OC 4. Kizer is a rookie - he's going to make knuckle head plays and I can live with that, I think he's learning faster playing than sitting ... coach is NOT helping him to limit the knuckle headed plays by asking him to throw so much. I like Hue as a HC - I don't think he can be HC and OC.

IF we can get Josh Gordon back, it will fix a lot of our offensive problems.
One thing Gordon did/does better then any Wr in the NFL is get open. Gordon is a TRUE bonafide #1 WR much like Megatron...the 2013 Josh Gordan is better then Antonion Brown....Gordon torched the Steelers for 267 yards in a single game...Brown has never done anything like that...
Gordon "should" be back soon...he should get reinsted in the next few weeks...we have him on payroll for peanuts...expect to see Gordon focused and hungry, and ready to make a big time statement.

We need to fire the person in charge of challenging plays, seriously. Fire that person and hire me. If we don't challenge that obvious no catch, we have 3 timeouts instead of 2. We call a timeout driving at the end of the 2nd quarter, we don't get a false start, then we do t throw a pick, then we don't give up a TD at the end of the half.

The challenge last week at the end of the game was a mistake, too. I didn't see the game today, for the record.

--At this point, 18 years since the return, it is emotionally taxing to not be able to play with the Steelers and Ravens year after year. Whenever it seems like we might have turned a corner, we run off the tracks. In 2007, I thought Crennel and Co. were on track. They took a jump in year 3 and seemed to have identified a QB to move forward with. Getting to year 3 was a huge positive in the first place. Then to have the continuity pay off felt good. Then it all unraveled the following year. When we beat the Steelers convincingly with Hoyer there seemed to be a gleam there as well although I think it was always in the back of everyone's head that Hoyer wasn't the answer. That the feeling would be fleeting. It was. And now here we are, year 2 of the current regime, and well, it's just deflating. Year after year after year the Steelers and the Ravens are always good. Lose players, sign players, have injuries ... it's no matter. They are always good. I'm racking my head trying to figure out how you get to that level. It seems we are so far away.
--I didn't see anything today that would give me hope for the future. I thought the defense was disappointing. I thought Kizer was disappointing. I thought Hue was atrocious. I don't mind losing, but I just wish there was something to hang your hat on to say "ok, they kicked us good today but it's not going to last."
--I look at the Hue and Kizer relationship like a parent and child. The parent is supposed to know what's best for the child. It is not apparent to me what Hue is trying to accomplish on O. He gives up on the run too easily. Then he gives Kizer graduate level pass plays to execute. The parent is supposed to protect the child. Nurture them and bring them along. The way he treats Kizer would be akin to me asking my 4 year old daughter to watch my other 4 year old daughter while mommy and daddy go out.
--By contrast the Ravens O kept it simple. They predicted correctly the Browns would focus on the run. So they called multiple play action bootleg passes. They kept routes simple with hard to guard crossing patterns. They allowed Flacco and the Balt O to get into a nice rhythm with easy to execute plays. The Browns O never gets into a nice rhythm. It appears that the O is designed to always have a big strike option. Our rookie QB wants to make a splash and make the big play. Where are the screens? Where are the quick slants? Where are the quick reads for 5-7 yard gains?
--I think by now we know Hue is not the coveted HC we all thought we were getting. However, I think it's important, warts and all, to stick with him. Allow him to grow with the rest of the team. Starting over at this point would be catastrophic. But he is a horrific play caller. I don't know what to do about that. Do you force him to give up those duties? I don't know.
--Maybe if he was just the head coach he could focus on things like challenges and TO management more. I don't understand any of his challenges at all. He challenges calls that have little to no chance of being overturned. He didn't challenge the Duke call. Did Duke score on that? The broadcast didn't spend much time showing it. Those types of decisions are why there are only 32 guys in the world who get paid to do what they do. To nail the simple stuff and navigate the complex stuff. Why can't we even get the simple stuff right?
--Higgins was great today. Where was that in camp and preseason?
--I am a staunch Crow supporter, but he looks uninterested to me. Either doesn't see the hole or doesn't hit the hole the way a RB should. He's been very disappointing. I think he's making the OL look worse than they are.
--I think the draw play is one of the most underrated plays in all of football. I rarely see one that isn't successful. Why don't we run that play more? Especially considering how pass happy we are. When we finally ran a draw, Duke hit it for a near touchdown.
--I agree with Vers that wins are needed to help change the culture and turn the tide. I predicted before the season that I think 3 wins is probably tops. I fear the team is going to start checking out if they can't compete in games. They weren't even close today and the team knows it. Hue needs to out coach the other team to deliver some victories and show his team that all the hard work is worth it. With 1 win under his belt, I'm starting to believe that Hue can coach a talented team but will not take an untalented team and have them compete at a level beyond their skills by out coaching the other team...by simply outsmarting the guy on the other side of the field.
--Oh well, another season. Same script, same story. Browns are going to Browns.

Defense played well again. Balt exploited the weaknesses we have but the D provided enough for an average offense to at least make a game of it.
Hogan better than Kizer. He made decisions in the time allotted. This is a game thread not a potential thread.
We are so bad at running the ball because teams don't think we can pass.
Saying all this, I'm still all in. The defense plays hard. We get some sort of production out of the offense we win games.
That Balt D is still excellent.

This loss is on Hue and nobody else. Yeah... no. My thoughts - Crowell once again proves to be irrelevant and Kizer got a welcome to the NFL in playing a good team on the road.

Young team, rookie QB. It's going to be like this up and down. Too many dropped balls and penalties. That score at the end of the half killed us. It always does.

expect to see Gordon focused and hungry, and ready to make a big time statement. I expect to see nothing from Gordon ever again... if I DO see him - even just wearing a uniform and being slightly better than Kenny Britt - I'll be surprised.

I want to see how Kizer responds to this game, because he looked completely flustered out there. Which wasnt entirely his fault. Everybody sucked.
I hope they dont ruin him. I really like this guy.

j/c:
Two games in and people are already blaming Hue. LOL, y'all never learn.
Some thoughts on the game:
--Kizer holds the ball way too long.
--Kizer is inaccurate on too many throws.
--The team moved better w/Hogan at qb.
--Peppers is strong.
--Peppers missed a lot of open field tackles.
--S. Coleman has poor lateral movement.
--Our safeties struggled in coverage today.
--We gave up too many yards in the running game.
--Our OL is not run blocking well.
--Higgins had a very nice game.
--C. Coleman dropped a pass and was not getting open.
--Britt sucked again.
--Louis dropped another pass.
--Duke made a sensational catch.
--Larry O showed some explosiveness.
--I like #52. Is his name Burgess? He caught my eye in preseason.
--Coates looked like a dud. Poor effort, poor routes.
--This team lacks experience in the worst way and is still lacking in talent. But again, people will blame the coaches, namely Hue. See my sig!

It was a messy game. Kizer had a lot of bad throws, obviously. Not encouraging. Hogan played better, IMO. People have been asking year after year after year how come we don't run the ball more often? For whatever reason - poor run blocking? Crow ain't all that? - whatever it is, we just usually don't run the ball too well. It's almost like a waste of a play sometimes to do so. It was a rough game to watch, at least in spots... large swatches... lol... I recorded it and will watch it again. The last game against Pittsburgh we looked better. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with just 3 wins this year. Oh my.

I'm still pissed the refs gave Baltimore a free TO at the end of the half.
Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

- Britt is a horrendous FA acquisition and gives minimal effort - Crow is sleep walking and will be gone - Our OL is underperforming. Zeitler has been porous. - Higgins was a bright spot. - Kizer ... let's hope this goes down as his worst game ever. - Hogan ... I've continued to be impressed. - Our D is awful covering RB/TE .. and it killed us today - Sucks to see West and Watson beat us - Dumb, dumb penalties - Bad drops - Don't like Hue as a play caller ... too cute, especially with a rookie - Baltimore took advantage of our aggressiveness ... really kept us off balance
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

Had to go to calling hours. Why was Hogan inserted? He was put in because the "Kiz" had a headache. He lobbied to come back in when he saw he was being outplayed by Hogan. Kizer is a wimp. So is Hue for putting him back in the game. A friggen headache??

I think the talent he has been provided has a lot to do w/how the team performed. I knew you guys were going to pull this junk. I said it all off season. To be fair, Kizer moved the ball at times but turned the ball over or stalled each time. WRs had stone hands with im in, we need to dial up the velocity on the jugs machine and have a couple long days this week.
Hogan had an INT but also put 10 on the board with his drives. He's not as gifted as Kizer, but he's the better QB now.

Agreed, I said it at the time, I would not have put dk back in the game, kizer left, hogan showed some stuff. Correct me if I'm wrong, first play after reinserting dk, delay of game?
I like Hue, but I place the vast majority of this loss on his shoulders

I'm not saying Hue didn't suck today too - but for anyone to say the loss is on him alone is ridiculous. These are grown men. Some would say professionals. I tend to put blame on them too.

Kize held the ball too long on almost every throw. He was late w/his throws. He was terribly inaccurate,
Getting an OC doesn't fix that.

I think the game vs. vet starters is too fast for him. The number of sacks is adding up fast! Kid should sit a few weeks IMHO and get his confidence back /adjust to the speed of the game. But I'm no pro, just a fan thinking they are going to ruin another QB.

None the less, Hue isn't very good.
Hogan was our best shot.
A headache? Really? LOL
Seriously man, when have you seen a good player, let alone a rook take themself out of a game because of a headache?
Hue has to be crazy for putting that wimp back in the game....especially after Hogan was actually moving the ball.
Last year the guru was telling us how Kessler was the guy. This week he was inactive. Now he is sucking up on the "Kiz".
Earlier I said Hue was safe unless he made really stupid moves.
He is off to a good start.

We're so early in the evaluation process with these two kids that I don't see an issue with swapping the two if necessary. I know it's not optimal but it's critical we have an answer before next April's draft.
