Didn't see this posted, but this seems about our luck Link BALTIMORE -- The Browns fear that wide receiver Corey Coleman has a broken right hand, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter, confirming an earlier report. Coleman had X-rays on his right hand following Cleveland's 24-10 loss to Baltimore on Sunday. Although the team did not immediately release details about the injury, further tests are planned for Monday. A source told Schefter that Coleman left the locker room with his hand heavily wrapped and that the Browns "won't know full extent of injury until [Monday]." Cleveland.com earlier reported that the Browns feared a broken hand for Coleman. The 5-foot-11 receiver injured his hand after he fell awkwardly following an incompletion. If his hand is broken, it will be a serious blow to the Browns. Coleman, a first-round pick in 2016, missed six weeks his rookie season with a broken hand. Coleman has six receptions for 62 yards and a touchdown in two games this season. Against Baltimore, he caught one pass after being thrown to seven times. In addition to Coleman, linebacker Jamie Collins left the game with a concussion, and rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer missed a quarter with a migraine.

it might be in the injuries section of game forum .. regardless, it's par for the course. It seems like he can't stay healthy and is destined to under perform in terms of his draft pick.
Higgins was clearly our best weapon yesterday, which is telling. Not sure he can sustain it, but he'll have to.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I think the league has been devastated by injuries and that the Browns, relatively speaking, have been pretty lucky overall.
I don't think this moves the meter at all. Losing Coleman isn't that big of a deal, IMO. He was a swing and a miss as a first round pick. Currently makes little to no impact on the field.
Will he get better over time? Undoubtedly yes, but I'm just not a fan and think that ceiling is relatively low.
LOL - The Rish will be upset with this news as well. KS just doesn't prioritize winning...

I think we need to trade for one now..even before coleman getting hurt it was obvious we needed a legit threat, now even moreso, won't matter who is at QB until then

In preseason and Game 1, it seemed like Kizer and Coleman had developed a bit of chemistry. For a rookie QB, I think that would be important to have someone to lean on/grow with . And for a WR corp lacking proven talent, I think missing him hurts.

If Corey is hurt and is out for awhile then bring back Leslie and let him play. If Crowell isn't playing well give M. Dayes more reps. I've been reading about KB and Crow not playing well. If that's the case let the younger guys play more and see what we have.

Report: Broken hand confirmed for Corey Coleman After Sunday’s loss to the Ravens, there was a report that the Browns feared wide receiver Corey Coleman broke his hand for the second straight year. Josina Anderson of ESPN reports on Monday that further tests confirmed that Coleman has indeed suffered the same injury. Coleman missed six games last year as a result of the injury and a similar timeline this year could make him a candidate for injured reserve so that the Browns have a full 53-man roster available in the coming weeks. Whether or not they go that route, Coleman’s absence will force the team to look elsewhere for help in the passing game. Rashard Higgins had the most snaps among receivers during the loss to Baltimore with Kenny Britt, Ricardo Louis and Sammie Coates also seeing time on offense. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/09/18/report-broken-hand-confirmed-for-corey-coleman/
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

The stars have aligned for this perfect moment in time.....soon, Josh Gordon will be reinstated to take his spot, and just like in 2013, he misses the first two games of the year only to go on to have a all-pro season.
It's destiny.

Coleman can't help a broken bone, this can't stay healthy crap is absurd here. 99% of the time players "can't help" their injuries. The fact of the matter is that he has had trouble staying healthy throughout his collegiate and NFL career. The only thing that matters is that he will again miss significant time.

This time around Coleman will require surgery, whereas last year it did not require surgery and he lost six weeks. This might be a season ending injury.

Word is he may be out up to 8 weeks. We will have to look at other options. He might be put on the IR - to return list.

I think the more likely scenario, the Browns give more time to others including, Coates, and Kasen Williams. Both have had decent catches, out of bounds, that will get cleared up. And that. Ricardo Louis' development, and maybe Higgans, will stick around and pay dividends. I'd say, for the first time in probably 10-15 years, the Browns don't currently have at least one receiver that I absolutely hate that he's on the team. How'd that happen? Lot's of big days ahead for Browns receivers. Lots and lots of them. Just like cards in Vegas, you can't use logic, because there are lots and lots of big days for Browns recievers ahead. "lots of em?" "lots and lots of em."
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

there are videos floating on twitter about Britt and Coates and their lack of effort running routes. That's unacceptable to me

j/c... Coleman broke his hand diving for a pass. Maybe he puts his hand down to take the brunt of the fall??? Surgery as long as he doesn't get a Staph Infection he will come back this season.
Hillis is testimony that a good WR can come from anywhere. Leslie was mentioned...is HALL not available?
I don't like Coates at all. jmho

Those are the two guys that came to my head. Rannell Hall and Jordan Leslie. At least give them a try. They know the offense. I've been dissapointed with Coates too. I thought that was really going to work out. I've always heard good things about him. I wonder what his deal is. If he is upset to be on the team (which means, get him off the team, we need professionals around here. You're paid to play a game, and A LOT of money to do so), or if he's struggling getting up to speed.

Coates may just need time. He probably needs a little bit to pick up the offense.

Whatever we have or don't have... we need to make WR a top priority next draft or free agency. Preferably the draft. Coleman is utterly a joke a IMO. I was just starting to warm up to him come preseason that game he made so many nice catches, but he is the Montario Hardesty at the WR position.

May raise the ire of some posters, but the Wide Out problem can be laid at the feet of the 53 man roster decision makers ..

They drafted a wide receiver in the first round last year and three others later in the draft. Kenny Britt was also signed (I didn't like the signing at the time). It's not like they didn't address the position.

OK , let me try again lol. FO signed Britt / they cut ( end of preseason ) all the WR's they had through camp and pre season ( save three ).. Brought in Coates, Williams , Davis .. They went into game one with THREE wide outs ready to play ( not to smart in MY book ) Coleman ( as we know ) has had some injury issues .. I just don't see the above situation being helpful to rookie QB . Way to early to be throwing folks under the Bus ,lol .. Now I did have to eat crow when it came to Higgins !

I have to disagree w/Coleman performing "well." I thought he was pretty good for a rookie last year (especially considering the college system he came out of) and then he was good in week one of this season. Even if you don't think he has performed well, he has not played nearly enough to make any real determination about him (because of two freak injuries).

Not trying to nitpick, but judging talent is about 50% of the problem, imo.
The previous regime left the cupboard as bare as it can possibly be at the NFL level. This regime has taken the "shotgun" approach, as I like to call it. Yeah, they took Corey Coleman... and if we were only 1 WR away from restocking that cabinet, that would be fine. But we weren't, and we took a bunch of late rounders, PS guys, etc. We took a high volume of shots to find a couple gems. The book hasn't been finished on these guys, but it doesn't look too good, and it's exacerbated by Corey Coleman not quite panning out as we hoped, at this point.
There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

He has a chance.
He's fast. Makes some sweet catches. Seems pretty tough.
On the other hand, he drops too many passes. Isn't a very good route runner. Hasn't been impactful. Inconsistent.
I agree w/you about the two "freak" injuries, but one also needs to consider the history of soft tissue injuries, which are not "freakish" at all. Instead, they are a concern.
I am not giving up on him, but I am a bit disappointed in his performance thus far. I hope he can turn it around.

Addressing the situation insinuates that it's fixed. I'd say they threw money and picks at the situation but it still hasn't been addressed. I believe that once again brings up the fact that some of our issues may be coaching but some of our issues also lie with the FO.
