Let's see how that works out if we are the aggressors starting a war in that part of the world. He may not like Kims actions, but they're still allies.
How quickly we forget about Syria.

"Of course, Trump grew up in wealth, and he's probably never mowed a yard in his life."
You know, this kind of stuff bugs me too. Wanna know why? I hope so- 'cause I'm about to break it down.
I hate it, because forming opinions is the job of arch and Clem... NOT the person reporting the news.
Journalistic standards started dropping the minute the internet became a regular feature in most peoples' homes. I remember the first time heard the word 'blog.' It was on a news program where the announcer was interviewing some ordinary schmuck like he was some learned expert. When I discovered what a 'blog' was, what 'hits' were and what 'followers' meant, I was gobsmacked.
"Are you kidding me? This nobody bangs out some half-formed opinions like a HS essay, gains some idiot followers.... and gets interviewed on a NEWS show? WTF???
I think that was around the time that everyone jumped the shark.
[Insert 'Angry Old Guy' voice here]: "Back in my day, there was a clear delineation separating quality news journalism from opinion. When reading a news article, I NEVER came across opinion, innuendo, speculation, etc in a news item. Opinion had its own section... in both print and electronic media."
When Paul Harvey came on the radio, he wasn't embedded in the 'top of the hour' news segment. Mike Royko appeared in the Chicago Trib's opinion pages- not slipped into the B section newsfeed. Every once in a great long while, the intersection of Sports and National Politics would make headlines in both disciplines ('68 Olympics, Ali's imprisonment, etc.) but most of the time, everyday sports reporting was separate the hard news. It made sense... and it lent itself to encouraging folks to follow the same format as they engaged others.
Nowadays, the Journalist's "Five W's" are liberally seasoned with personal spin and slant within the body of the news reportage... and I HATE that.
Yep. The Internet seduced conventional news media to sell its soul in order to remain in competition with 'infotainment.' In so doing, they relinquished their relevance as an unimpeachable source of factual information.

I think even 'feel-good stories' should have some immunity from this partisanship that seems to have gripped the nation. (I confess even I politicized this story, just to tease 40 about his "Mexican gardener", so I'm just as guilty as anyone else-).
I guess I'm slamming this post out to acknowledge that I see the same stuff you see.
Times have done changed... and I'm not happy with this one.
"Fake news" should not be a thing. "Slippery news" should not exist, either.
The odds of N. Korea being able to send a nuclear weapon that can actually hit the U.S. is very slim. I'm not sure at what point it would be smart to attack them. But it's not going to be pretty and the most likely scenario would be the beginning of WW3.
China and Russia would not sit still for it.
They can hit us. One of the tests was a shot nearly straight up. It went high enough that we know they can now lob one to hit about as far as the east coast.
Don't think they can't.
If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
Tough talk from Kim Jong Un, but expert says it may signal an 'opening'
SEOUL, South Korea – More tough words from Kim Jong Un.
Through state media he’s quoted as saying that North Korea is going “full speed and straight” to the goal of “completing its nuclear force” and is “nearly” there.
The North Korean leader goes on to say his regime’s aim is to “establish the equilibrium of real force with the U.S.” so the U.S. would “dare not talk about the military option.”
All of this comes after the latest launch by North Korea of an intermediate range ballistic missile that flew a distance of 2,300 miles which, if pointed in that direction, means it could hit the US territory island of Guam.
And all of this also comes as the U.S. is working with its allies here and in the U.N. to put maximum economic diplomatic pressure on Kim’s regime. As late as Friday there was more talk from Trump administration officials of possible military action.
Still, according to one leading North Korea expert here in Seoul, Kim Jong Un’s latest rhetorical outburst suggests intriguing possibilities.
“This is an important statement,” John DeLury of Seoul’s Yonsei University told Fox News. “I think this is an opening.”
For one thing, DeLury notes, the fact that the North Korean leader is talking about achieving “equilibrium” with its nuclear arsenal rather than turning the U.S. into “darkness and ashes” is a good thing. Also that Kim Jong Un thinks he is close to completing that arsenal might mean he thinks he is close to considering negotiations.
“The language is significant,” DeLury said. He adds that the words come from “…Kim Jong Un himself… there is no higher level.”
Experts like DeLury are convinced negotiations are the only way out of the North Korean crisis.
“We got to talk,” DeLury told Fox News. “What has to happen is a senior American official or a trusted confidant of President Trump needs to get in the room with a senior North Korean official or confidant of Kim Jong Un. Until the talks start, this process we’re watching, is just going to go on and on and on.”
I wasn't trying to insinuate that his missiles didn't have the range to reach the U.S.
My point is that it would take enough time that we would be able to target them and shoot them down. That's no sure thing but the idea we don't have missile defense systems in place to do this is untrue.
What Kim doesn't want is the destruction of his nation and his death. That's what he knows will happen if he strikes the U.S.

the fact that you willingly spread fake news shows that you're just another poster who can't be taken seriously now.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
except 3 million illegals didn't vote. you guys just can't seem to admit that the majority of America did not want anything to do with Trump.
and he has done absolutely nothing to change that belief.

And yet no one has proved that they didn't vote. They just say they couldn't have possibly voted. Kinda like how you all say they do not collect benefits, when California has paid 1.3 billion in welfare benefits to them.
Who claimed they don't collect benefits? First you lied, then you lie again but making up a narrative.
You're street cred is sinking like the titanic
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
The burden of proof rests on those who made the accusation. Prove what Combover 45* asserts, or drop the charade.
Idiotic.
Kinda like "Trump colluded with Russia" which was based on a dossier.....
We can go back and forth, but to this point until real evidence is seen by a commission or presented in a case against either side, its all hearsay based on "sources"
except 3 million illegals didn't vote. you guys just can't seem to admit that the majority of America did not want anything to do with Trump.

How do you know? The States refused to cooperate with the investigation. Now the Sanctuary cities and States are looking to allow illegals to vote legally.
well when the states finally turn in the register rolls and allow voter id, we wont have to worry about this argument, huh? wonder why none of the dem states want to do that.........
my grandfather was a democrat and voted religiously as such, but that wasn't until he passed away
He was offended by Clem's post. Stop kissing Clem's butt and read.
I happen to like Clems butt, and I have no problem kissing it.
I once tried kissing it but all I got was the back of your head. Just thought you were a little hard on Willie as everyone was barking in the heat of battle.
I realize that and in the name of inclusiveness I have no comment on it except to say it is a bit salty. Just thought you were a little hard on Willie as everyone was barking in the heat of battle.
It was meant to be a little bit salty. It was also meant to be hard on Willie. Battle or no Battle I got Clems back even when I disagree with him.
