Obviously "score more points" is the real answer, but this is a WINNABLE game (yes, we "could" have won the last two) ... but in my opinion, if we are on the way up we must win games like this.
So, how do we do it? Indy's O is not good. Point blank. In fact, their entire team is not good.
1. NO MORE STUPID PENALTIES. This has been a KILLER for us all preseason and season.
2. NO MORE TURNOVERS. It's a tall task to ask a rookie to be smart with the ball, but we can't let the trend continue.
3. Can we please stick to the run? We say it every week (even Hue does), and then it never comes to fruition.
4. Bring Peppers closer. The Ravens took advantage of our defensive alignment. I think a more traditional defense should be stressed. Just let our good players play.
5. Simplify the offense. Too many shifts, formations, etc. for my liking. Give Kizer a smaller chance to fail. Set up in traditional formations, give him easy reads/check downs, and then gradually progress.
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Jeudy is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Tillman is flanked out wide to the right. Judkins and Ford are split in the backfield as Flacco takes the snap ... Here we go."

As to your #5 - just a question, as I don't have an answer......but, is it possible all the pre snap shifting is done to give Kizer a better chance at seeing what the defense is in? Zone, man, etc?

Commit to the run!!!!!!!! I'd like to see at least 25 rushes combined from all 3 backs.
I would also like to see some 2 TE sets. I feel we have 2 weapons in DeValve & Njoku. Combine that with the underwhelming potential of our WR group and this seems only logical.
I also agree that there are too many penalties that continue to leave us at 3rd and long all day.

if we can keep gore to 80 yards or less we have a shot...
if crow gets more than 10 carries..
if our recievers dont have drops...
I`m good with Baker... Playoffs is good enough for me.

I agree EO just play a clean game and we'll win.

Limit mistakes. Penalties, turnovers: stay away from them. If we do that we probably win. We are entering a cupcake portion of our schedule. An opportunity to get experience, some rythmn and balance against weaker teams is before us.
Indy will likely go for quick plays against our D. Get after their QB, make him uncomfortable. On O, run it , look for DeValve and Duke. I bet we win by 10.

No more turnovers.
No more stupid penalties.
WRs getting open.
QB throwing the ball quickly and on target.
Oline opening gaps for our RBs
Defense not allowing the middle of the field to be wide open for a Mack truck to barrel through.

I think it is going to be difficult to win when the qb is playing so poorly. He is going to have to step it up in order for us to have a chance.
I'm not saying he sucks, but right now, he is beyond clueless.

There are breaks good or bad and they kind of even out, they tend to go both ways.
There are 3 phases of the game, Offense, Defense, and Special teams, the team that wins 2 of those phases, usually wins the game.
Who said that!

Just gatta matriculate the ball down the field.

I'm sure it is. But I think the challenge is finding a balance that allows him the time to make the correct read, but guards against him being too focused on moving players around that he misses his reads. Now I have noticed that on some of the delay of game penalties that while Kizer brought the play clock down to the wire, Tretter wasn't snapping the ball to him when he was clapping for it. Not sure where the miscommunication between them is coming from.

May I ask how pre-snap formations and motion affect post-snap reads?

May I ask how pre-snap formations and motion affect post-snap reads? People don't like the motion because they don't understand what's going on and it looks like window dressing. If done successfully they can really help an offense: Pre Snap Movement

Indy doesn't have a strong front seven. We should be able to control the clock against Indy and run the ball. This would take a lot of pressure off of our rookie QB. A ball control offense combined with less penalties and turnovers and the Browns will be victorious.
This is the first game so far this season that I feel we have a realistic chance to win.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

If that's the case, lets use this game to really break in our shiny new Oline. The need time to work and grow together, and I can't think of any better way than to knock around a weaker Dline.

It would be great to see a CONSISTENT and effective run game. Even if it's against a lesser front, it enables us to start to jel... hopefully.

I'd also prefer to run straight at them. It seems like Crow has struggled more with the sweeps and outside runs than anything...which is odd considering he did pretty well at that when Shanny was here.

GC. If the team falls to 0-3, I'm all for sitting, / benching all the starters on offense, Excepting the offensive line probably.
I think Duke Johnson has shown he's there to make the extra effort and deserves time.
Part of me just wants to see the Duke and Dayes show, and factor in the tight end more often.
( The Browns seem to have at least one play designed to go only to Seth DeValve.
I can't mention DeValve without my niokname for him. Seth "Catch short of the first down" DeValve.
I mean that guy has MOre drive killing times his name is called, where he makes the play, and next up, Browns are about to punt!~
Maybe it's time to get real vanilla on this offense, stop with all the substituions, only use 2 wideouts, 1 TE, and get about all the RB's they can sign off the practice squad, in to carry the ball up the middle. ( And what Ever Happened to, if you Can't run up the middle ; run outside or run somewhere else!, This team has had 1 running play, the dive over the guard for a short gain, for 25 years! Mix it up!
Why not try a true deep out, or a Sweep.
And then, on about 1 play per half, throw a 40 yard up for grabs to one of the guys that have been watching, like Kassen Williams, or Coates, or anybody who can get up field behind a safety. ( hopefully inbounds once)
Play boring offense, with the occasional deep attempt to see if it works out. And then play defense and try to absorb the punishment the other team is going to throw at you.
And if the Browns' haven't won a road game in about a hundred years they might as well beat the other team for old times sake.
Like they say. If you can't Beat em, at least beat em up!
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Sit Kizer if he sucks or migraines or whatever. Player who gives us a best chance to win hasn't taken a dozen or more sacks and interceptions. Do something different than we have failed with twice.

Just gatta matriculate the ball down the field. Sometimes I think that's the problem, they want to take too many plays to reach the end zone, except for trying to find it all at once. They get into scoring position and then try to play everything short of the goalline which doesn't really challeng the defense. If this offense were to start clicking on all cylinders, it'd be , big play, big play, big play, dominant run, dominant run, dominant run.

Run the ball, move the chains, and control the clock.
This game will be dictated by what our offense can do.
Except maybe by our special teams. I can see Pepper breaking off a punt return or two to at minimum flip the field.

if our defense can't hold Indy under 20 something is wrong. So it's imperative to limit mistakes and don't help them out. punts and playing field position is okay here.

I have us and the ravens in my fantasy league ... no points for sacks or turnovers ... not sure who to play us or the rats ...
nice to be considering Browns O players and their D in fantasy ... I wanted our D, Crow and Coleman pretty bad ... only got our D ...
I'm probably going to go pick Higgins up ...

Yeah, that's kind of funny. I had Crow, Coleman & the Browns D. I've since dropped Coleman and the D. I picked up the rat's D. This might actually be a good week though to play the Browns D and to start Crow.

J\C A better FO...A better coach.... Better players oh and some cheerleaders LOL How about Bench Crowell, Bench Louis, Let Britt, Higgans and K.Williams start out, bring Coates in situationaly Put Duke in at runningback all day, with Dayes also in at the RB, with Dayes sliding out to slot receiver, Worked in game 3 of the pre-season. Mix things up, maybe bring Crowell, and Louis off the bench in the 2nd half. If they are going to pay Zeitler more than any other inside lineman in NFL history, they may as well run the ball behind him.

How can we win??? Lets see The colts can have the ball on Clevelands 12 yard line with 1:08 left in the game. It's 4th and 2. Brissett completes a 3 yard pass to Hilton. It's 1st and goal on the Browns 9 yard line. The colts quickly line backup and Brissett spikes the ball. It's 2nd and goal and the Ref's stop play for a review and overturn the 3 yard pass completion, giving the Browns back the football and sealing our victory. Colts fans then start heaving massive amounts of beer bottles on the field and the refs call the rest of the game off.
I AM ALWAYS RIGHT... except when I am wrong.
