Heres a problem you are not taking into consideration, they are not Americans.
I am absolutely taking that into consideration... what those who support the continuation of DACA aren't taking into consideration is exactly what Obama said when he signed it..
1. It's temporary, it is not a permanent solution 2. It's not a pathway to citizenship 3. It's a relief period until congress can find a permanent solution
Well, it's been 5 years since he signed his "temporary" law and nobody seemed to have any interest in finding that permanent solution.. to the best of my knowledge, he never pushed it again after that... Trump is pushing for that permanent solution and the only way to get Congress interested in finding one is to pull their little safety net out from under them.
I think we read each other wrong. I agree O's order was unconstitutional, and I like that Trump is trying to do something about it. But you stated they were Americans in your original post, I was pointing out they are not .
He also went repeatedly to Capitol Hill to encourage them to take action on the Dream Act... which had been languishing in some version since 2001.. Well, we all how cooperative they were, after they committed themselves to making him a one-term president. Bill was introduced thrice (2010, 2011, 2012) during admin 44, never gaining a filibuster-proof majority. Thanks to recalcitrant Republicans, the bills gained all the traction of Wesson oil poured on a sheet of ice.
And even after this: In a December 2010 report, the federal Congressional Budget Office and the Joint Committee on Taxation estimated that the November 30, 2010 version of the DREAM Act would reduce (federal) direct deficits by about $1.4 billion over the 2011-2020 period and increase federal government revenues by $2.3 billion over the next 10 years.*
So much for the myth of the GOP being the party of fiscal responsibility. It was more important to them to stonewall this effort than it was to increase coffers, decrease costs, and actually help some people out. Cynical and uncaring to the point of- well... being 'deplorable,' once again. Cynical- and totally predictable.

Now, as for the constitutionality of said Exec Order by 44: It's not illegal just because Agent Orange and Dobbie his house elf say so. It's only illegal by writ&ruling from the Judicial Branch... which never ruled on it at all.
O's action was no more and no less legal than 45*'s exec order rescinding it. BOTH are acceptable within the constitution. 'Cause that's how our law works.
And that quote you tried to use against him? It was part of his official plea for congress to get up off their dead, fleshy, pasty asses and do something permanent and legally binding. Phat phreakkin chance they were ever going to do that.
And so here we are: with 40 dropping speculation as to O's mindset, and spin like a whirlpool washer near the end of a heavy rinse cycle... and Clem dropping Truth Bombs based upon factual research and verifiable history. #sameasiteverwas
Here's your your azz. Please return my silver platter once you've hand-washed it in the sink. Some Wright's silver polish wouldn't hurt, either.

Something I wish 44 had done during his tenure. If this is what it'll take to get 16 year old legislation into the books, so be it. I think Trump did the right thing.

As long as he's not pushing a 'final solution', I'll give him some leeway on this one, but I still don't trust them to do what's right with the dreamers.
From all that I've taken in the deportation option is extremely unpopular not only in the public sector, but on both sides of the aisle, as well. They know what their constituents want. The trick is how to get it for them.
So you are saying Obama was actually lying when he said it is unconstitutional and our democracy doesn't work in a way that he can just make it a law on his own?
No. That's not what I was saying at all... and you know it. Or- you don't know it- and that whole 'reading is fundamental' thing strikes closer to home than most thought.
Joined by fellow California Democratic Reps. Jared Huffman and Barbara Lee, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi hosted a news conference in San Francisco on Monday to raise support for the DREAM Act, which would allow current participants in the Deferred Action on Childhood Arrivals program to remain in the U.S.
Following President Donald Trump’s announcement that he would be ending the DACA program, an executive order initiated by former President Barack Obama in 2012, Congress and the White House have been working on a legislative replacement.
Pelosi and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., both of whom want amnesty for Dreamers, have been negotiating with Trump, who is seeking stronger border security.
The conference was meant to bolster support for the DREAM Act, but the event did not pan out the way Pelosi had hoped.
Several minutes into her speech, Pelosi was shouted down by a group of Dreamers who continued to chant and make demands.
The protesters called for a “clean” DREAM Act — a bill that includes protections for Dreamers, but does not make concessions to the GOP on border security.
The group of around 30 young Dreamers accused Pelosi of being complicit in allowing Trump to end the DACA program — even though fate of the executive order is completely controlled by the White House.
“We, the undocumented youth, will not be a marketing chip for Trump,” the group chanted in unison. “Democrats created an out-of-control deportation machine and handed it over to Trump. We demand accountability.”
The protesters also shouted, “Undocumented, unafraid” and at one point yelled at Pelosi, “You’re a liar.”
They also carried signs reading, “DEMOCRATS ARE DEPORTERS” and “FIGHT 4 ALL 11 MILLION,” according to San Francisco CBS affiliate KPIX.
In an attempt to take back control of the event and appease the protesters, Pelosi said, “You’ve had your say, and it’s beautiful music to our ears.”
But the Dreamers continued to hijack the conference. Around 30 minutes into the commotion, Pelosi and her aides decided to leave.
The decision to protest this particular event was somewhat unexpected.
The conference was held to boost support for the DREAM Act, which would protect the 690,000 immigrants still under DACA status.
Before the interruption, Pelosi spoke behind a podium that included the hashtag, “#protectdreamers.”
“Make America dream again. We must strike while the iron is hot and get this done in a matter of days,” she said during her speech.
However, the group of Dreamers seemed to believe Pelosi and Schumer were giving too much up to Trump in negotiations.
Following Trump’s decision to end DACA he gave Congress six months to pass a legislative fix. Democrats and Republicans on Capitol Hill are currently working on a compromise that includes retention of the DACA program and stronger border security measures.
Pelosi said she sympathized with the group of protesters, but pointed out the need for compromise with the president because “Trump has the signature.”
It appears you're not reading the thread. I plainly stated that fringe elements of both parties go ballistic when bipartisanship works. Did you miss that?
Then 40 tried to cheer that it's happening to Palosi. Yes it is. Just like it happened to Trump. Both sides are guilty of the same thing.
Reading is fundamental.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

It would appear you are the one with a reading disability as I was replying to Vambo and his post.
I know you think you are the most important person here but we do talk to others also.
