yeah our "veteran" WR are lazy alligators and I hope we cut them both when this season is over. I had hopes for both but they are making me sick watching their sad effort.
You can't fix stupid but you can destroy ignorance. When you destroy ignorance you remove the justifications for evil. If you want to destroy evil then educate our people. Hate is a tool of the stupid to deal with what they can't understand.
1. There are no bad play calling...just bad execution.
2. We had our swing passes wide open Kizer has to learn that at 2 seconds dump it off.
3. Higgins is proof that there are many good WRs out there ALL you need is good. I think Njoku and Devalve are our best Red Zone WRs right now. Mostly cause of their size.
Louis is playing good.
Did somebody pick up Hall? I hear a lot of Leslie Leslie but no Hall???
So who is doing better for their team...Britt or Marshall? Before you have said it...I didn't mind Britt's first game but I didn't like this 2nd game at all!
7th round pick from Northwestern is looking darn good, loved him in college. Simian...just popped in my head even though not a WR...lol
Coates I thought was disgusting giving up on his routes when we needed him to continue and if the Safety indeed took him on our other WR would be open. Execution. Coates, Williams and Davis did not have the benefit of coach Saunders in training camp. Hall, Leslie, Higgins did. We would be better with them...not big tall and fast to become a Pro Bowl WR...but as I have said what you need is a WR unit that runs good routes and have good hands and you got a championship caliber UNIT.
jmho The miss matches...look at Njoku and Devalve for that!
Defense wins championships. Watson play your butt off! Go Browns! CHRIST HAS RISEN! GM Strong! & Stay safe everyone!

For what it's worth, Nathan Zegura (Cleveland Browns Daily & sideline reporter on the Browns radio network) said that Coates was dealing with some sort of issue or dilemma on the sidelines and was being looked at by trainers. Didn't comment on any other receivers, just him.
At DT, context and meaning are a scarecrow kicking at moving goalposts.
Dude balled out in training camp and there was zero reason to cut him.
Watch, dude might have a 3-4 catch, 60 yard game out the gate in limited action.
“To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.”
It's a shame that someone like Leslie (who deserved to be on the team) is yanked around and gets paid peanuts in relation to Britt
"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

Coates has a hamstring. For what it's worth Britt is dealing with a sore knee.
This team hasn't draft a good wr since Webster Slaughter. 30 years ago . Since then it's been all 1 yr wonders or career cupcakes
keenan mccardell ... was he drafted here? he had a good career. I also like Kevin Johnson. But, overall, yeah it's pretty underwhelming.

Minus the diva and distraction Braylon Edwards was a very good to elite WR for a few years...Kevin Johnson was a good pick...Northcutt was an ok pick, always hurt or hampered somehow...Andre Davis was solid for us, had some injuries as well...beyond that I can't think of a WR besides Josh Gordon that really made an impact outside of the guys I listed...
We truly need playmakers at the WR position and a better RB. DN may become a playmaker at the TE position but he's not there yet. If we had playmakers at those positions our QB's would look better because of less pressure on them. JMO
funny thing is, sometimes i'll watch "old" games from my middle school/high school years ... like 99-2004. We had better playmakers then than we do now: KJ, Cutt, Andre Davis, Morgan ... for a window of time we had a pretty good offense and could move the sticks/score pretty easily

Sad, yet true...seems like everything went downhill since.
I hear that we signed Leslie to the practice squad.
he looked good in preseason...maybe he pulls a Higgans and balls out
I agree, he looked great - he probably shouldn't have been cut. He'll come in and be better than all our 2nd year WRs and our (yet again) overly paid but equally worthless vet in Britt.
Here's hoping one of the guys can turn into our Coulston. Higgins had a nice game last week. If we can get contributions from 4,5 guys it at least gives us options. This won't help Kizer though.

If it were up to me, I likely would not have cut him either. But after 2 weeks into the season, he was still available.

Below average WRs are better than our current display of talent IMO. I've preached it all along, we have the worst WR group in the league.
Like Kessler, I think Hue maybe expected too much and the big jump from the second year people isn't happening. I did and a lot of others did think the second year would/could transpose. It's only two games, but I don't see that jump. I think our QB play isn't helping, but I think our WR play isn't helping our QB play either.
Quite frankly, it's a poop storm.

Some players develop and some don't. People always hope Browns players will develop and grow. Sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. Let's face it, if every player developed every year in his first four years, there would be so much talent in the NFL that there would be forty teams and still not enough teams for the surplus of talent.
Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.
BEREA, Ohio -- After Browns receiver Kenny Britt's big drop in the opener against Pittsburgh, coach Hue Jackson brought him in and challenged him to be the big playmaker he needs him to be.
"Yeah, man-to-man,'' said Britt. "I mean, he wants me to step up, bring more energy to practice and to the field, on and off the field and in the classroom. Because we're leading down a path that we didn't believe we were going to go.
"0-2 is not where we wanted to be, and it's not where we're going to stay and as long as do the little things and the small things that we've been missing the last two games, I believe that we can be a contender in this league.''
Instead of yanking Britt out of the starting lineup after the opener like he contemplated doing, Jackson gave him a chance to redeem himself. After all, what choice did he have? Britt is the only experienced veteran receiver on the roster and the one who was supposed to make folks forget about Terrelle Pryor this season.
"I've challenged him that he needs to step up and make plays, and I think he will,'' Jackson said Thursday. "I really do. This is where we are. We've got to make some plays, and we understand that these are the guys we have. And Kenny is the elder statesman in that room, and I think he'll raise up and help lead these young guys, and we'll go play good this week."
Britt, who caught one of only two targets in Baltimore for 2 yards, is eager for that breakout game. To date, he has two catches for 15 yards.
"I'm always up to any challenge,'' he said. "I've always been a competitive person. If the coaches want me to go out there and kick the ball down the field, I'll go out there and do it.''
Dreaded comparisons to Dwayne Bowe
In the unforgiving world of social media, Britt has drawn comparisons to veteran receiver Dwayne Bowe, who was signed by former Browns general manager Ray Farmer in 2015 and given $9 million. Bowe was inactive most of the season and finished the year with five catches.
Britt, who had his first 1,000-yard season last year with the Rams, has no plans of letting that happen.
"That was more me just being comfortable with the offense and having people around me believe in me and that's what we have here, especially in this locker room,'' said Britt, who turned 29 this week. "This locker room believes in each other and each and every day we're out there on the practice field, we believe we can do things that other teams are doing or other people think that other teams can do better than us, but I think we can be one of the top offenses as long as we start clicking.''
With Coleman down, someone's gotta pick it up
Especially now with Corey Coleman out for at least the next eight weeks with a broken hand, Britt will have to try to become the go-to guy that rookie DeShone Kizer needs. Currently, the starter opposite Britt is Rashard Higgins, who came off the practice squad Saturday to catch seven passes for 95 yards in Baltimore.

He said stepping up means "doing all the right things, doing all the small things, and that's what's been killing us the last two weeks was the details of things, finishing on certain plays and things like that. That's something that we've been doing since OTAs and in camp. We took a step back from that and we just need to get back to that.''
He's got his mojo down with Kizer
Britt insists his chemistry with Kizer is good despite the fact he's been targeted only five times in two weeks.
"Definitely,'' he said. "We've been working since OTAs. Even though we had the quarterback competition and we didn't know who was going to be the starter and we had all the receivers switching with all the quarterbacks and things like that. But it's more getting the timing down, and that comes with it.
"He's young, he's a rookie, there's some things with his footing and our route depths, it's got to time up and that's something we've been working on.''
He said it's not as simple as telling Kizer, 'Hey look at me, I'm going to be open. That's backyard football and it doesn't really happen that way.You can go over and tell him, 'hey, look, they're playing me this way, I think we can get this off and if we do this, I know we can run this route on them because it's the way they're playing us.'''
* Britt vs. the Ravens: What did he do all game?
He said he understands the backlash on social media because "that's everybody that plays fantasy football. You have to understand that. These guys, they understand that they're rooting for one team, their fantasy football. We actually want the passionate fans that's going to be with us. When things get tough, they're still going to be with us. When we start picking up and they're still with us, that's something that we need, especially at home and them getting loud.''
With seven new starters on the Browns offense, including Britt, he cautioned that it takes time to jell.
"We're still in the beginning of our offense, it's only the third week," he said. "And as the weeks go on we're just going to get better and better.''
His teammates have his back
Britt, who signed a four-year deal worth $32.5 million, including $17 million guaranteed, has the support of his teammates, who've embraced him in the locker room and on the field.
"Kenny's been good since he got here,'' said cornerback Jamar Taylor. " Obviously, they paid him. I think preseason, he didn't get to play that much. But Kenny can stretch the field. He can be a jump-ball guy. He can be possession guy. He can be a deep-ball guy. He's physical. He loves to block. . . . We've just got to get the ball in his hands."
Browns cornerback Jason McCourty, who played with Britt at Rutgers and for five seasons in Tennessee, knows the criticism won't rattle him.
"In the years since his freshman year in college I've never seen anything bother Kenny,'' he said. "No matter what he's gone through, somebody yells at him, have a bad game, have a bad practice, he's going to come in here with a big smile on his face, and he's going to be ready to roll.
"I remember talking about some of our receivers in Tennessee. They envied that about him because he goes out there and just plays football."
McCourty said the criticism is part of the job, and as longtime veterans he and Britt, more than anyone on the NFL's youngest team, understand it.
"We don't expect nothing less,'' he said. "That's your job. We know the process. We trust one another. We've been out there on that practice field since May, since April, so we know what it takes. We know what guys have in them, and as brothers, you continue to trust and you continue to challenge and rely on your brother."
"I've challenged him that he needs to step up and make plays, and I think he will,'' Jackson said Thursday. "I really do. This is where we are. We've got to make some plays, and we understand that these are the guys we have.
Poor Hue.
He doesn't have enough talent to win and many have already turned on him and are blaming him for the team's problems. Those same people just love the FO, though.

LOL at some of our fans.
I don't think liking Hue and the FO are mutually exclusive I like Hue as a coach but do have some reservations about what we seem to be trying to do offensively, albeit against very good defenses. I'm hoping we see some flicker this week.
I like most of what the FO has done. The defense is now a young, fast unit with a few gaps remaining but it's already on the upswing.
I'm an optimist by nature. I do want to see Browns Week 1 not Week 2 in Week 3. I also want Hue *and* the FO given at least 4-5 years unless it is blatant we are not progressing.
The Cleveland Browns have signed WR Jordan Leslie to the active roster from the practice squad. To make room on the roster, the club waived WR Reggie Davis. Leslie, 6-1, 205, led the club this preseason with two receiving touchdowns and added nine receptions for 93 yards. He was signed to the practice squad on Tuesday and spent time on the Browns’ practice squad in 2016. The Brigham Young product is a native of Houston, Texas. Davis is a rookie who joined the team via waivers from Atlanta during final roster cuts. He was inactive the first two games. He will wear No. 11.
The Guy that I have been pulling for is back on the Team .. I hope he can pull this opportunity off ! Like several others , I thought he should have made the 53 out of Pre !!
