See, this exactly what I'm talking about with you. Dude, I live in Florida, the beach is my back yard. I can find better things to do on Sundays here during football season. Since you choose to make crap up and act like you know me and what I do...you can go get bent!

When he's not picking a playground fight with North Korea he has to turn on Americans.
Trump has no clue what the protest is for or what it means. He lives in an ivory castle and has no idea how the rest of the world live let alone what 99.9% of America experience on a daily basis. Whether it be race relations/profiling or general survival worries and concerns. No clue. Also, it says a lot that he spent more time and energy talking about sports and the anthem than he did addressing the Neo-Nazis/White Supremacists and their terrorist attack and murder in Charlottesville.
Such a shame and equally as sad is that most of the GOP sit silent and don't show any moral backbone by standing up to him because they fear losing their job.
Well said

Publicly disrespecting the very symbol of freedom and why one has the right to protest is about the most vile thing a person can do outside of harming another innocent human being. I don't care why one wants to do it...it doesn't matter. Find another way to make your mark.
When you trash talked as a kid, Moms were universally understood to be off-limits. That was due to respect to the institution of motherhood. You don't call your wife by her mother's name.
It's not difficult and there are lots of other/better ways to make a point.

P.T. Barnum strikes again! You told your wife... Everyone is lighting up this Thread. It is all over the News. It is all over Sports. It is running rampant on social media. President Trump Leads American into the conversation on subjects that have needed our attention for a long time. Remaining silent will solve nothing. It allows only those with Media access to have free speech, furthering the Divide. Now everyone is talking! Brilliant!

no there isn't better ways.
sorry but you just want people to protest in a way that doesn't inconvenience you.
AKA, you and others want the protest to occur in a way that you aren't forced to actually think about the issues they are bringing up.
we have protest all the time locally against black on black crime and other issues. the million man march got little to NO coverage from media, especially conservative media.
you don't want players to kneel for the national anthem? then how about you help bring awareness to the issues they are bringing up then? help change whats going on, then they wont have to kneel anymore.

Calling people SOB's isn't a conversation. The conversation was going on long before his hateful comments.
It's yet another way he has chosen to help divide people rather than unite them. It's what he does.

Trump is so unpresidential it makes me laugh. I don't think I've ever seen someone consistently try to put out small fires with kerosene. It's certainly entertaining.

Inconvenienced? I'm not inconvenienced by anyone choosing to disrespect the flag, our country, our dead soldiers and our living soldiers - both retired and active. Am I disgusted by it? Yes. I don't want ANY US citizen to NOT stand for the National Anthem. I don't care what excuse/reason they may have. It's not an appropriate or respectful way to make a statement. Perhaps the players should take up their cause(s) and I should take up mine. It's freedom...symbolized by the flag and the sacrifices made to create that freedom.

The kneeling is a cheap way for these losers to "show they care".
3-4 minutes they'd be standing around anyway.
These same losers won't devote any of their own free time.

are you one of the guys who will stop watching? posting on a browns message board says you aren't.
This is why I don't like talking to you, YOU MAKE CRAP UP and twist everything that is said. FYI; I didn't watch any football the 3 years the Browns were gone. I didn't watch any football last year. If you noticed, you won't find any posts from me in any other forum on this board. I use to post religiously on the old board talking football. I registered in 2013 and have a little over 200 posts. I WILL STOP WATCHING! Good now stop complaining about something you don't watch.

The NBA and the NFL have become garbage sports. It won't ever cease to amaze me how you people can complain about things you don't follow, watch or even care about anymore. But please continue your divisive rhetoric pointing out players you don't even know or care to.

Keep making up lies like your friend Swish. Just because we don't agree with your opinion doesn't mean we don't watch or know who these guys are. People like you twist peoples statements to fit your view.
I said if the NFL stops playing the Anthem to skirt this issue, I WILL STOP WATCHING!

Just watched the NA in fox-borough players arm in arm kneeling and standing all in mutual respect together for all.

Pit,
Focus for a second on what I said and not what you want it to mean. I am not talking about Trump or his opinions nor am I defending him.
I believe it to be disgraceful and insulting to NOT stand for the National Anthem. I believed that before Trump was POTUS and I will believe that after his time is over.
See, we are not that different in regards to how we "feel" about it. Point being, I feel the exact same way when the KKK or neo nazis have rallies in our nation. But the fact is, people who I disagree with have the right to "peaceful protest" whether I like it or not. It's a part of free speech and the right to peacefully protest. Those are rights that are ingrained in our nation. While I don't like what the players are doing, I'm not going to stand by when our president decides he's going to make public comments attacking people for exercising their rights. Saying he disagrees with them is one thing, but the visceral way with which he attacks those who disagree with him is petty and childish. Quite unbecoming of his office. I understand you disagreeing with the players. But if we don't stand up for their rights, no matter our beliefs on the subject, how long until our rights are also infringed upon? Damn good post Pit, much respect. The only difference for me is I don't agree with protest while on the job. But if the owners of the business' are ok with it, what do you care?
You may be in the drivers seat but God is holding the map. #GMSTRONG

Which would be fine on a normal situation, but since you and others are so ticked off about players kneeling, one should reasonably expect guys like you to be up on the regulations.

Intent matters. It's one thing to do something you think is patriotic but happens to be a faux pas because that's what it says in a book somewhere. It's something else entirely to say that this flag is not something you believe in and therefore you won't stand for it (or something to that effect.)

They're both constitutional rights. Perfect said it well earlier in the thread. Don't like the protests? Don't watch. I'll add to that and say don't buy merchandise, don't go to games, vote against taxpayer funded stadiums which allows the owners to socialize their costs and privatize their gains, and cancel your cable (money flows from your checking account, to your cable company, to networks, to the NFL.)
In the interest of full disclosure, I haven't watched much NFL football the last couple years.
Somewhere between the greedy owners, spoiled/whiny players (my opinion of this goes back farther than the Anthem protests), ten straight losing seasons, and a declining product where games last more than 3 hours and yet somehow we only get about 11 minutes of actual game play where the ball is live, I've gone from watching three games on Sundays when I joined the board to only catching plays here and there... and I'm not even sure I can justify that anymore.

So you were barely watching the games even before the protest. Which means you not buying any merchandise or tickets meant absolutely nothing to in the grand scheme of things.
The NFL is still the biggest sport in this country. Still ridiculously profitable even WITH a slight hit from people not wanting to support the NFL anymore.
Then on top of that, thanks to Trump, now the NBA players are gonna start doing it on a regular, and they got international money.
you don't like players kneeling for the anthem/flag? Then help bring change to the issues they are addressing that way they don't have to.
