Never heard you bitch about Bill Clinton and his seric.........er, lack of service. I was thinkin' the same thing, but swish wasn't nearly old enough to vote for Bill so I don't think this one counts against him. His wife on the other hand, and all her myriad of vile conduct...he did vote for that. Swish's wife seems ok to me.

If I have to choose between a draft dodger, and a uranium salesperson to Russia of all people (and those are my only choices) I choose the draft dodger. And I'm not defending anyone.

I will support the police. fire department, and the EMS if they decline to attend next week's football game. It is obvious what these players think of them now.

I don't care for players political views. Sports is entertainment, politics isn't entertaining at least to me. That said, Trump is a moron for jumping into the weeds on this and too many other issues. He just can't seem to grasp this whole "being presidential" thing and it's disturbingly growing a fungus on this country.
Steph STFU, I don't care about your simplistic views of politics. Go make your commercials playing ping-pong. Trump STFU and let Pence speak for your administration. President Trump has dedicated himself to Making America Great Again and one issue that touches most of our divided society is this issue of Rights, Respect, Honor, Dishonor, Law, Order, When and where opinions and causes should be presented, Respect for authority and who exactly thinks they are more important than America herself. Wading into this is exactly what our Leader needs to do at this time. These issues need discussion. If you think about it Trump has unified the players more in one weekend than all others since Kap started all put together... My problem with this kneeling is the attention has gone to players kneeling not much at all go to the reason for the action. The talk is about disrespect for the flag and the USA not any mention of...what was it they were kneeling about?

I disagree with everything in your obviously tone death response. That's fine, you can disagree. But, it's tone deaf...........not "tone death." Just for future reference.

Two things: 1-I never saw this article and it came out way before I got wind of this and started googling the subject. 2-(and this is a genuine question) What level of credibility does politifact hold? I know Snopes is on the decline as far as bias goes. Honestly I can't say that this would've changed my vote although I did stare at the machine for a few reflective seconds before casting my vote for Trump. Even when I wasn't sure who I was going to vote for I found myself relieved at (not the thought of a Trump presidency) but at the thought of NOT a Clinton presidency.

politifact is credible. both parties/ideologies have used it.
i'm telling you like i tell everybody else: you didn't want to vote for clinton, fine with me, it's whatever.
but TRUMP? come on bro. the dude shouldn't had even made it past the republican primaries.
let's take him being a draft dodger out of the equation. let's take him possibly colluding with the russians out of the equation. lets take the sexual assault bragging tapes out of the equation. lets take his fraud cause with Trump U out of the equation. let's take him wanting to MAGA while having his products made overseas out of the equation.
taking all that out, you still voted for Trump even though he was a STAUNCH supporter of the clintons up to 2008 when he supported her for POTUS. he lived his life as a liberal, whatever you want to take from that, and supported/donated to a ton of democrats, including hillary clinton, the person you just finished saying you found relief in NOT voting for.
the all of a sudden he's a conservative and running under the GOP banner?
how in god's name did you not see that huge ass red flag? the sirens should've been going off in your head like it was the cold war and the russians just tested another nuke.
the guy doesn't give a damn about you or anybody else bro. everything you guys claimed hillary was as a person is exactly who trump is.
lies his ass off. says whatever it is that will get him support. involved in investigations and shady dealings. fake.
this guy rallies with a bunch of southern conservatives because he knows those are the people buying his products. but when have you ever seen him actually hang out with those kinds of people in his life?
the guy can't even stand to be around members of his own party. you don't seem him chopping it up with paul ryan or Mitch McTurtleneck. dude is hanging around with chuck shumer and nancy pelosi, because that's HIS PEOPLE. that's the kind of people he hung out with his entire life!! dems, liberals. he's a high rolling NYC guy. you honestly think he cares about some poor white people in nebraska? or some dirty coal miners in west virginia?
the man would never be caught dead around those people prior to 2011, when he up and decided that he wants to make a presidential run. the man literally got up there and became the ring leader for the birther movement, and you conservative ATE IT UP.
anything this man says, you trump supporters are like "yea yea he's right. he might have been off a bit but he's right essentially!!"
come on bro. you want to talk about these guys disrespecting the flag and country when the worst offender of that is sitting in the oval.
since when is it american values to trash our actual allies and praise the guy who just finished meddling in our election?
since when is it american values to claim that our first black president isn't even an american, and also a muslim?
since when is it american values to say that there are "Very fine people" amongst white nationalist.
you realize how stupid that argument got? "i know i was marching while holding tiki torches and chanting 'blood and soil' with white supremacists, but i swear i'm not racist!!"
come on bro. you sacrificed way too many of the values you claimed you had voting for trump.
and i didn't even touch on the hypocrisy coming from the religious perspective.
Trump is the epitome of what it means to be unAmerican. but yet all that doesn't mean anything to you guys, but players kneeling to bring awareness to social injustices is Unamerican?
that's some bizarro world stuff right there bro. straight up.

You'll have to wait for Jeff Sessions is done with his investigation. Hillary is going down. Unlike the Mueller probe, Sessions isn't leaking anything. The bomb will drop.

I would go line by line and respond to most of this but that would take forever so all I'm gonna say is:
I'm not gonna argue with any of this, it is bizarro world. Like you asked me months before the election: How did we get here? Is this the best we could do?
Apparently so.
Like you've also said, we get what we deserve.
And we did.

Politicians and government as a whole is a reflection of the people that voted for them.
That's all I'm saying.

That's all I'm saying. There's a lot more racists in the country than I would've thought to be sure, but I seriously doubt (hope like hell) that it's not as many as the media would like us to believe. I don't believe for a second that most Trump voters did it out of racism. Not going back into all the reasons why, we've done that over and over for months, but it's what we got now so... I'm just gonna love my neighbor, no matter what ideological bent they have.

I have a question for some of my conservative brethren.. I saw where one of the Broncos said, and I've seen many others say it on this board and in other places... if folks don't feel safe or don't feel equal economic opportunity or just generally don't like the direction of the United States, then why don't they leave, just pack up and go someplace else if they think it will be better... it's a reasonably common sentiment.....
So if that's the case, if that's how you feel... then why in countries like Mexico or Syria, where people don't feel safe or don't feel they have equal economic opportunity, and they try to leave... why do you call them cowards and say they should stay and fight (politically or militarily) and try to fix their own country? So what is it??????
Should I stay or should I go now? Should I stay or should I go now? If I go there will be trouble And if I stay it will be double So ya gotta let me know Should I cool it or should I blow?

Ok this is not directed at you Clem, or at anybody else on the board. It is only my personal opinion. I don't agree with the players kneeling. I did however like the idea of linking arms. I do however support there right to kneel or protest as they are not breaking any laws. I for one would be a hypocrite if I did. You see I have been accused of disrespecting the Church during my lifetime. I have been accused of disrespecting the flag as well. WHY I have been known to wear my Browns hats to Church, along with my Browns clothing oh the horror. I am not talking about last week. I am going back to my days as a teen when everybody wore their sunday best to church, and it was sacrilegious to even think about wearing sneakers, jeans, or even a polo shirt to Church. I also stopped taking my hat off during the national anthem. I didn't see the need to as I always thought it was nothing but a stupid old tradition to do so and it had nothing to do with respect for our flag or our country. If y'all feel you have to stand with your hat off, your hand on your chest, and sing the anthem to show respect then by all means do so. If you feel you have to remove your hat, and just stand to show your respect then do so. If you all feel it's OK to sit and just sing, then by all means feel free to do so, and if you feel it's ok to kneel, then by God you should be free to do that as well. I don't have to agree with you. It's really none of my business. BTW Those of you ( and this covers 90 percent of the people at football games) who start screaming and drowning out the Anthem with 30 seconds left of the song) are complaining then your nothing but hypocrites as well.
I AM ALWAYS RIGHT... except when I am wrong.

Not standing for the National Anthem is a disgraceful, selfish, despicable act. There is no excuse to justify it. People who insist on doing that SHOULD be called out for it. I don't disagree with your thoughts on standing for the Anthem. But, it's their right to not stand for it. As long as what they do is peaceful. So, The President doesn't like it. Ok,, Neither do I. but unless or until he gets the constitution changed, he needs to let it go. All he's doing is trying to flip the script so that people will stop talking about Healthcare and North Korea and the myriad of other issues that he's stirred up.

So what is it?????? I can't speak for what to do in other countries that may shoot you for trying to change things but here in America we have a system that is in place for making changes. Just look at the Amendments to the Original Constitution. There you will see Change. You talk in terms of how people "Feel" and "Like", which doesn't mean they are looking at it factually but emotionally. I have trouble "Feeling" that people who grew up in our system and applied their talents to the point they became multi millionaire sports stars, have anything to "Feel" unsafe about. In America there is a time and place for protest. There is a system set up to make changes. There are Constitutional protections for all sides in any situation. There is no need to leave the Country when you can work to change it from here. BUT... You have to be willing to accept, when the people and the Courts hear your concerns, complaints and feelings on an issue, when they see the way and place you protest, you have to accept that sometimes the answer is "NO".

no, we aren't on the same page.
we always have to admit our faults, while you guys, especially cops, get to play victim like you never do anything wrong.
this 4 time combat vet supports the players protesting against people like you. Let me ask you something Swish. If Blacks didn't resist arrest,Run when lit up and could take an order from police would there be a lot less problems. I would like to see Haslem man up and cut all these crybabies. Whats the worse that could happen , we go 1-19?

It certainly does.
Why? Because all these people who didn't even serve are using us as a talking point.
""It's so disrespectful to the vets who fought".
Yet when I, an ACTUAL combat vet, like many others come out in support, now people like you want to claim that I'm throwing my service around.
That's a double standard. You say nothing about those who didn't serve using ME andother vets as a talking point, but then turn around and come at me because I'm an actual vet with a different opinion?
That's why I don't take you serious on any of these social discussions.
So yea, it makes my opinion more valid than most, and equal to those who did serve who have a different opinion.
People are gonna have a problem with what I say and I don't care because that's how I feel.
You voted for a draft dodger. You, 40, Haus, Devil, and others. So if you want to know why I essentially wipe my ass with you guys opinion, it's because you guys have no credibility on this topic.
You guys claim it's disrespectful to the country to kneel, yet voted for a guy who bitched out and dodged the draft when said COUNTRY called on him to serve.
That's the most disrespectful crap to a nation ever, short of treason. But hell, there's a good chance he did that too.
Yea, I'll take social justice warriors over double standard, draft dodging supporters all day everyday. Hey Swish, I'm a vet too and I got to wonder if you are lying about you're service. I belong to the VFW and every vet I know is disgusted with these spoiled crybabies.

Should I stay or should I go now? Should I stay or should I go now? If I go there will be trouble And if I stay it will be double So ya gotta let me know Should I cool it or should I blow? I'm a fighter personally. The United States is the country I grew up in and love. And while I may sometimes disagree with how things are done here, I also understand how fortunate I was to be born and raised here. I'll stay and fight. Hopefully that remains political in nature, but I have ancestors on both sides of the family that go back hundreds of years in this country. My ancestors fought in more wars and saw more adversity than I can imagine, and they must be rolling over in their graves right now at some of the liberal insanity out there. I'm not going anywhere. I understand that not every place has the relative wealth and safety of our country... there's no better example than Syria. A sensible peace agreement would be the best option there, but unless and until that happens, I don't blame the migrants so much for trying to find a better life. The people who deserve scorn are those who willingly sacrifice the safety, wealth, cultural cohesion, etc. of their own countrymen in favor of virtue signaling.

My two cents,
Although I disagree with the kneeling during the anthem, and wish they would do it a different aspect of the game, it is their right to protest and voice their first amendment.
I do find it funny, about the Steelers standing in the tunnel, if you are going to protest and kneel, get out their and do it! don't be a pansy and hide in the tunnel. If you feel that strongly about your cause, how are you going to let the ownership of the team silence you?
Now, if the players really want to make a statement, they will kneel on the first play of a game. But I highly doubt they will do that because then maybe the team can start doing something about it. You see, they will only kneel during the anthem because their really is no reprimand. Kneel during a game, lose money possibly. Seems like their check is more important than the cause if you ask me.

Didn't Bill dodge the draft? Hilary the wife of a draft dodger, bush was also chastised for his service or lack thereof. I don't believe Obama served in the military, nor anyone in their family. Sorry, I don't think it was issue with Bill, Bush, Hilary, or Obama, but because its trump it is an issue. And you can say whatever you want, facts are, he had a deferment.

I think you're talking about families, & refugee's fleeing oppression and war vs people immigrating to another country due to political opinions. I'd never call families and refugees cowards. The cowards are all the political leaders who can't find or deliver peace in their country. The saying goes "America! Love it or Leave it." It's always going to be directed towards the opposition party of the WH every 4 years. The saying has been repeated since I can remember. It never fails to be uttered.

Then you either don't know many vets or you're lying about your service. There's literally a social media presence of a bunch of vets in support of Kaep and these protest. But I guess they are all lying about their service, too.

I have a question for the liberal brethren. Why when the players who wanted to wear 9/11 tribute cleats they were fined and liberals stood up for the NFL saying "well its in the contract they cant wear those, blah blah blah." But its in the contract for the players to be on the sideline standing, and now nothing by the NFL?

The NFL made that deal.
The players as individuals did not. Misinformation on your part again. You're on a roll. And the players are employees of the NFL and its teams, no? The players union give the NFL the right to negotiate on their behalf, am I not mistaken? The NFL does not have a policy banning protest of NFL players, which is the point. Just because the NFL took military money to honor the vets does not = players must stand for the anthem. Honestly people have double standards anyway. Nobody in this board plays the national anthem before going off to work. Players didn't even come out during the anthem prior to 2009, yet all of a sudden you guys act like they've disrespected decades of tradition in the NFL or something. I got Day questioning my military service, but then if I defend my service in support of protest, Arch will comes and claim I'm throwing my service around, then I point to how civilians like using the military as talking points, I got people who didn't even serve acting as if they speak for me. This thread has done nothing but enforced my beliefs that most of you are completely oblivious to the world around you. Day wouldn't have questioned my service if I was white and conservative. But because I'm a minority and liberal, people question it, as this isn't the first time that's happened on this board.

Don't know if your white or black honestly don't care. And I said in an earlier post, I disagree with WHEN they are protesting but I stand by their right to do so.

But its in the contract for the players to be on the sideline standing, and now nothing by the NFL? It is not in the contract or the rules. You are incorrect my friend.
I AM ALWAYS RIGHT... except when I am wrong.
