That would rock! The Elf 5000 Transveyor Device. Give it a basket and a handlebar bell from bikes of my youth.

Bum wheels suck so you might as well enjoy it. And sending more prayers for YT.

you know what's more effective than asking for prayers every freaking time?

start a gofundme page, send me the link, and ill drop some cash to help with your medical cost.

that will way further than begging for prayers. i got a truck full of empty prayers i can back up to your house, see if that helps with the bills.

i'm dead ass. start a gofundme page and get some REAL help. ill be the first one to drop some dough.

it's very necessary.

i'd love to help out with something that can actually do something. from what you guys post about religion all the time, lets say jesus is real.

he did a lot more than just pray for people. he went out there and did things, right? he went out there with his actions.

that's all i'm trying to do bro. So YTown, and all you other cats that need some help, let me know, and i can spare a few bucks for something very much needed.

If that's how you meant it, fair enough.

If you really, truly want to help someone, I have a Christian brother who has some very expensive medications. If you want to help him on a monthly basis, I'll ask him if it's OK to disclose his identity to you. We have been praying for a way to get his expensive medications paid for.

i must be one of those CAT'S you refered to. i have came on here from time to time to update what's going on with me.
I have never asked for prayers or needed to start a go fund me page. i have very good insurance.
I just wanted to give updates on what was going on, I have new test coming up and then i will give another update.
And i believe prayer helps.

I just want to clarify here.

I believe that God answers prayers. I was looking at a lot of medical bills, and out of the clear blue sky. my dad re-entered my life, and has provided money to help out with my medical bills. It is nothing I could have foreseen, but it has been the difference between being able to go to the assortment of doctors I have to see, or not.

I am OK for now.

However, if you are looking to do something good, my church is looking for the rest of the funding to purchase a bus so we can help those who are unable to drive to get to church, and to be able to get out for a little bit. We are currently $1050 short. Any part of that would help. We are also about $250 short on paint cost for a local project we are working on. (repainting the home of a local family in need) If you can contribute to either of these, it would be fantastic. I can give you my church's information, if you are interested. These are definitely projects that carry out Jesus's mission of helping those in need.

Ytown my dad passed from prostrate cancer, my mom passed from an abdomial anuresym. So i have to be checked yearly for both.

well what happened in January may have just happened by dumb luck actually helped and hurt. They found a 2nd anuresyn. I have an abdomiable and an arortic anuresym, ya 1 below the heart and 1 above. Both at 4.4 surgery at 5.0. That's the good. The bad my balance is still way off. I am now using a walker where less than a yr. ago i was walking just fine. anyways i hope this test i have coming up helps.

that's fine but all i'm saying is your dad came to help you out. you can chalk it up to prayer or you can acknowledge that somebody wanted to make an impact in your life and help.

and i apologize if i came of ass attacking you. i didn't mean it that way. my point was that people send so many "prayers" and fake condolences when sometimes all it takes is to spare a 20 or so.

i see so many prayers being sent to people like you and to disaster zones. how much actual help would be given if people replaced those prayers with a 20, even if it's just one time?

Prayers arent fake to people who believe in them, and Ytown didnt ask for money, he asked for prayers. So please consider other peoples wishes before you bash them.

Let me explain my situation with my dad and I.

My dad took off when I was 10 years old. He re-entered my life shortly after my medical situation took a downturn.

I hated my dad for what he did to my mom and my family, by leaving us without caring about leaving the burden of caring for the family to my mom alone. However, I felt the Lord tell me that I needed to forgive, in order to be forgiven. In time, that message resonated, and I accepted it. God presence began to grow in my heart after that, and continues to grow to this day.

As for your offer, God uses us for His purposes, and He often surprises us with the way he does things.

It's really nice to see some things in this thread.

It's nice to see Ytown have faith in the power of prayer, and to see how much his love of God has grown over all the years I have known him.

It is nice to see all the love others have shown for him by giving their time to make heartfelt and loving prayers.

It's nice to see Swish show him love with offering money to help out since he doesn't believe in prayers.

It all boils down to folks in our little dawgtalkers family (yes I believe we are all part of this dysfunctional little family) supporting and caring for each other in the best ways we all know how. *Tipping my cap to each and every one of y'all*

OK, if anyone has some spare prayers, my family can definitely use them.

My brother's stepson was working on a car with his (biological) father, and needed to patch a gas tank. Yep, sounds like a really, truly bad idea, especially when welding equipment is brought in.

My nephew is in the hospital (they may have discharged him by now) with serious burns on his face and head. They had to peel off a lot of burned skin .... which I guess was no picnic.

This kid has been a troubled kid, so I hope that God will use this incident to straighten him out. Any prayers would be greatly appreciated.

I was going to tell you that you wouldn't need a damn walker, but didn't want to be crass. I used crutches to leave the hospital and enter the house. They were a pain the ass. I ditched them and just started hobbling around.

Don't baby it, but do everything they tell you to. Good luck, YTown!

Thanks. It is harder to use the walker than to just use the furniture and such for balance getting around the house. Crutches were out of the question once I tried them. My back just wouldn't handle the different pressure they put on my back.

I used the walker to ..... well, I carried it in from the car, and I carried it up the stairs. Does that count as usage? lol

My knee is killing me, but they told me to gently work on bending it. I can do full bend and full extension, except for the limitations of the bandaging. It's still killing me, though. Man, I laid down for far longer than I usually do, and I got a muscle spasm in my right calf, to go along with the surgical pain in my left knee, and I though I was going to die. lol I couldn't get out of bed to stretch out my calf, which sucked.

Oh well. it's not as bad as I expected.

I don't think that mine will be as bad as yours. lol I spent most of last might with my knee bent as far as I could, then back to straight again. That hurt, but it was what they wanted me to do. In fact, the nurse said "b end that knee, or the doctor will do it for you." shocked I have also been limping around the house. Hopefully I get the release to drive, because I am going to anyway/ lol

Don't be as bad as me. When the DR told me no driving a car for 3 weeks after my one surgery I listened.

But he didn't say a word about the motorcycle, so I had it out one week later naughtydevil

I drove home from my follow up today. The doctor said I was fine.

My knee already has about 80% flex, and I can put full weight, and climb steps normally. (though more slowly than usual)

He gave me pictures of the inside of my knee, which are always fun. The rear side of the upper bone in the knee joint had splintering on it, and that's what cut the meniscus. He removed the torn part of the meniscus that was jamming up the works, and repaired the bone that had splintering on it. (smoothed it down with the scope)

The back of my knee is the part that hurts the worst. He went in through the front and the sides of the knee, and did the work on the back of the knee from there. I thought that was rather unusual, but he said it was the standard way to go. I go back on Monday to have the stitches removed. He'l decide if I need physical therapy at that point, but I think that I'll be back to 80% or so by then, given the progress I have already made.

when i had my knee replaced i already knew what to expect. I asked for a wheelchair for my room. Day of surgery i was 45% bend and they couldn't figure out why, but i got it. Also didn't want the sheet to move my leg i wanted the gray therapy band. Just easier to get around the foot.

Now the reason i wanted the wheel chair i would get in the chair and go over to the sink and i would rock the chair back and forth until my knees hit the sink.

ok i'm now at 90% bend. what can i do now? i went to my closet and got 1 of my shoes then another then i rolled up a towel and put it down there.

anyways the therapist came in on Monday and i went from 45% bend to 110% bend. all i'm saying is work with what you got. You can push threw the pain. you have it in you just do it.

YTown, I started physical therapy 2 days after I had my surgery. I would strongly recommend it. Not sure what's up w/your doctor, but that seems kinda crazy. It's really important to start PT asap.

I have almost full range of motion back in my knee already. He told me to keep doing what I'm doing, and Monday the stitches come out.

My biggest problem/pain is that my calf is killing me. He did a lot of work on the back of the knee, and I assume he had to push the muscles out of the way to work on the back of the knee joint. I am trying to push through it the best I can. I am not using the walker, though I did take my cane into the doctor's office just in case.
