This is perhaps my biggest problem with Trump. He's the President. It's his job to be the calming influence in most situations, it's NOT his job to say crap to get people riled up.

As President you don't just lead with the policy you pursue, you set the tone for the discussions that everybody has.. and he is setting an extremely argumentative, aggressive, confrontational tone.. and the people are following his lead.

With what is going on across America today, our President, like our People, should be anything but calm.

They should be Outraged!

It's been his MO all along.

Before he was even POTUS, this was being reported about him. It's how he ran his business: pitting underlings against each other.

His default setting is adversarial... in order to function, he manufactures an enemy. Mexico, The press, his primary opponents, Crooked Hillary, Dems, ...and now the NFL.

Too bad he's never aimed his ire at Russia.

LeBron James blasts 'bum' Donald Trump, says White House visit an honor 'until you showed up'

A few hours after President Trump tweeted that he had rescinded his White House invitation to Stephen Curry and the NBA champion Golden State Warriors, LeBron James took to the social media platform to weigh in.

"U bum @StephenCurry30 already said he ain't going! So therefore ain't no invite. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!" James tweeted Saturday morning.

Curry said on Friday that he didn't want to visit the White House to celebrate the Warriors' title — an event that has become tradition for championship-winning teams over the years. While the Warriors had not received a formal invitation, team officials were of the belief that one would likely be extended if the team voted on attending the White House.

“I don’t want to go,” Curry said, doubling down on the stance he has taken since his Warriors downed James' Cleveland Cavaliers for the championship in June. “That’s kind of the nucleus of my belief … (But) it’s not just me going to the White House. If it was, this would be a pretty short conversation.”

To which Trump responded: “Going to the White House is considered a great honor for a championship team.Stephen Curry is hesitating,therefore invitation is withdrawn!”

This isn't the first time that James, one of the world's most influential athletes, has spoken out against Trump, his most recent comments coming in the wake of the violent rallies in Charlottesville, Va. last month.

"Hate has always existed in America. Yes we know that but Donald Trump just made it fashionable again! Statues has nothing to do with us now!" James tweeted.

James expanded on his comments during an event with his foundation later that day.

"The only way for us to be able to get better as a society and us to get better as people is love, and that's the only way we're going to be able to conquer something at the end of the day," James said. "It's not about the guy that's the so-called president of the United States or whatever the case. ... It's about all of us looking in the mirror and saying, 'What can be do better to help change?' And if we can all do that and give 110% ... that's all you can ask for."

Curry expressed similar sentiments on Friday when asked to elaborate on his stance.

"By acting and not going (to the White House), hopefully that will inspire some change when it comes to what we tolerate in this country and what is accepted and what we turn a blind eye to," Curry said. "It’s not just the act of not going there. There are things you have to do on the back end to actually push that message into motion.

“(Athletes are) all trying to do what we can. We’re using our platforms, using our opportunities to shed light on that, so that’s kind of where I stand on it. I don’t think us not going to the White House is going to miraculously make everything better, but this is my opportunity to voice that.”

Senator: Russian trolls are pushing the “BoycottNFL” hashtag

As Congress investigates Russian ads on Facebook, it appears the trolls have turned their attention to NFL protests

With the president's, and much of the country's, focus on the NFL and anthem protests, a Senate Homeland Security Committee member is claiming that it appears Russian trolls aimed to elevate this controversy in order to create division.

"We watched even this weekend, the Russians and their troll farms, and their internet folks, start hash-tagging out 'take a knee' and also hash-tagging out 'Boycott NFL,'" Sen. James Lankford, R-Okla., said, according to ABC News. “They're trying to push divisiveness in the country. We've continued to be able to see that, we will see that again in our election time."

This unconfirmed claim by Lankford comes just a week after Facebook agreed to turn over the records of thousands of political ads to Congress that were bought by Russian accounts during the presidential election. The ads reveal manipulation of the Facebook platform (one that reaches two billion people per month) by Russian trolls who sent varying messages based on political preferences.

Some ads, for instance, promoted Black Lives Matter. Others described it as a political threat. In another instance noted during the 2016 presidential election, trolls created ads featuring images of Muslim women who supposedly supported Hillary Clinton. Others promoted messages of anti-black, anti-immigrant, anti-globalist sentiments and various conspiracy theories, all themes central to the 2016 election. Sen. Mark R. Warner, D-Va., vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee has gone so far as to claim that the Russian operatives' main goal was voter suppression.

"The divisive themes seized on by Russian operatives were similar to those that Trump and his supporters pushed on social ­media and on right-wing websites during the campaign," The Washington Post said. Whether Trump or his team colluded with these forces continues to be investigated.
