Dodgers took 2 out of 3 from the Indians back in June, so they hold the tie-breaker if we both finish 103-59, or 102-60.

I still love hot dogs, but I have graduated to Nathan's or Hebrew National. They remind me of the old Lion Brand hot dogs they used to sell at Muny. Sugardale, not so much - they're mostly chicken.

Dr. Smooth pinch hits and in his first AB since Aug. 8, he singles on the 10th pitch.

Incredible.

I think the fact that we lost means we can't catch them. They have the tie-breaker.

Correct.

Id like to applaude the Cleveland Indians. A month ago I stressed how important a for us to start playing better, secure the #2 seed in the AL. You then proceeded to set an AL record by winning 22 in a row.

Terry Francona, believe it or not, is an underrated manager. He embodies baseball and this region, because he is one of us. He rallies and embraces the talent in Ohio, I truly believe to be the heart of it all. Make no mistake, Ohioans, we sit on a bed of talent and opportunity. He embraces this and expects, rightfully demands more. Tip of my cap to you Terry Francona.

Roll tribe, i have the upmost confidence in you, because I am one of you.

The fact that we won 102 games, more than the 95 team that most feel was the best ever, is telling. Going to be crazy. We have 3 guys that could be MVP in Lindor, Jram, and Kluber, if i was to rank them, Jram Kluber then Lindor. We have power galore in this squad, and in the complete opposite of napoli last year, both Bruce and EE have gotten stronger as the year ends, thats going to be huge, 2 guys with 100+RBIs. Not that I don't have some concerns, like our setup/closer minefield, and Lindor falling off the last few games. But I think these 4 days of rest will help, they will be ready to go come thursday, plus cavs open on weds, that should put an end to the Browns viewership for the rest of the way. 2 championship potential teams vs one that is wallowing in futility for the 19th year in a row. Going to be fun

We have 5 starters with double digit wins. How freaky is that. 2 of our starters are tied for the MLB leads in wins with 18, (Kluber and Carassco) and Bauer has 17. (the other 2 are Clevinger with 12, and Tomlin after getting win #10 yesterday)

Can't wait for the postseason to start!

Tito has some decisions to make.

First Kipnis in center. Myself, I am not big on Kipnis in center. He can make routine plays and that's it. He doesn't break on the ball well and he doesn't read the ball in flight well. You give up to much defensively with him in center. I would rather have him at second and Ramirez at third.

Fourth starter. I like Tomlin but, he throws strikes and if he is not on the corners he gets burnt. So for my money I would go with Salazar. I know he has been up and down but he has shutout capability and Tomlin does not. If Salazar falters they have Clevinger to go to in a long relief scenario. Fourth starter would probably only come into play in a seven game series.

Outfield: Bruce in RF. Jackson in center. It doesn't appear that Brantley can play LF at this point. So, if Guyer can play then you play him against lefties and Lonnie against righties. If Guyer is out then maybe you go with Greg Allen in center move Jackson to left and rotate Lonnie in there against righties.

Kipnis in center with Urshela or Diaz at third just doesn't sit well with me. Kipnis's bat is awake. I want him in there but not in center.

Why not put Kipnis in left and Jackson in center?

Actually in center you get a better read on the balls than LF or RF. Kipnis played some center in college but this is the Majors and the playoffs.

Kipnis in the outfield at this point in time is not good. It takes years of experience at this level meaning coming up through the minors.

He can look passable on routine outfield plays. But he is not going to make the plays Zimmer or Jackson make. And that can make the difference between winning and losing games.

I totally believe in Tito. And I am sure he is wrestling with this.

I thought he played LF in college.
Regardless, left is easier and less demanding than center - unless the game is at fenway.

I don't think the playoffs are the time for experiments. Put Kipnis back at 2nd, even if he doesn't have Ramirez's range, and put Ramirez back at 3rd. Jackson in CF and either Brantley or Chisenhall/Guyer in LF. If Brantley (ankle) and Guyer (wrist) can't go, keep Allen in CF and platoon Jackson with Chisenhall in LF.

Yeah the issue with Kipnis besides not much experience is he doesn’t have no where near the arm strength to play center. I believe that’s why they made him an infielder. I don’t think his bat is enough to put someone else out that can play OF. Going to be interesting

He should probably be the utility man, and we just use him in pinch hitting situations. Brantley is an odd one too. He's was an All-Star this season, and chances are he doesn't make the roster either.

My goodness. How hard is it to pick a 25-man playoff roster?? Talk about depth! I've been posting this every other week, and I get a different list every time:

SP: Kluber
SP: Carrasco
SP: Bauer
SP: Salazar

We've got relievers in:
RP: Clevenger
RP: Goody
RP: Otero
RP: Olson
SU: Miller
SU: Shaw
CP: Allen

That would leave off McCallister, Joe Smith, Tomlin and Merritt among others. Yikes!

C: Gomes
C: Perez

DH: EE
1B: Santana
2B: Ramirez
3B: Urshella
SS: Lindor
UI: Diaz
UI: Kipnis

RF: Bruce
LF: Chisenhall
CF: Jackson
OF: Brantley
OF: Allen

That would leave off Guyer, Almonte and Naquin. Maybe they drop Brantley or Kipnis to make room for another pitcher? But I think they have a solid starting 4, and probably won't stress the pen much. It just seems really difficult to leave guys like Kipnis and Brantley off the roster. Tough choices ahead!

The biggest bubble guys on your list (IMO) are:

Goody - I think they would keep Joe Smith over him in a tight one

Brantley - How healthy is he? It puts us in a bind if re-injures himself. And how rusty is he? He looked alright in his short time back but if he needs game or 2 more to knock the rust off, do we have that luxury?

Greg Allen - Love him as a defensive replacement and a pinch runner. Is that enough to earn a spot on the roster? Francona seems to prefer the veteran experience when there is an choice.

Tomlin - Can start or provide long relief out of the pen which he has experience doing. Does Clevenger take that role or are they looking to use Clevenger as a 6/7th inning guy? The nice thing about Tomlin is that if we don't use him for several games, that makes him stronger whereas a lot of guys struggle when they sit too long. Do tehy prefer Tomlin as the #4 starter and Salazar out of the pen? I feel confident that Salazar makes the post season roster but I am not confident that he will be the 4th starter.

The was Francona likes to use his bullpen, It is always going to be stressed. You have 11 pitchers which I agree with, however I wouldn't be surprised if we went with 12 given the versatility of Ramirez and Kipnis.

Lots of tough decisions.
