Horrible. Several witness videos on the article, must see. Shooter is down, no more details. They just opened fire with full auto machine gun from the sound, 40,000 Targets at a concert. What the hell is this world coming to. Terrorist and nutjobs everywhere!

Reporting the shooter was 64, no run ins with local law enforcement, had multiple weapons in the room. Police shot and killed shooter. A companion female person of interest is also being investigated.

I'll say I was In Vegas 2 weeks ago with my art for a festival. The festival was in downtown Vegas but one night my girlfriend and I went down to the strip. I kept thinking about how I felt so vulnerable because of how corralled the sidewalk makes you feel. There are places that if a shooting started there'd be no place to go. Fish in a barrel. Frankly I was glad to leave.
My take on Vegas after my first visit, it is a cesspool anyway. A stripper pole. Shiny from a distance but up close its gross and it stinks.
I hope the shooter rots in hell. May the victims be at peace, and families of the victims find peace in their tragic losses.

50 Dead, 406 taken to the hospital.(just reported on NBC) Alleged Shooter, Stephen Paddock, 64 of Nevada.
Just awful.. Need to check on Relatives living there. Not sure if any are Country Music fans and attended that concert, but I need to check to be sure.. Little worried at the moment.

I don't think there is "motivation" for something like this. There are just some sick people in the world. There is no such things as motivation when comes to killings and hurting this many people.
Not trying to combat your question, just saying in general. The press always say what motivated the shooter or killer, or what have you. I always thought it was a loaded term. Someone to do anything of mass harm is just plain ol crazy, to me its as simple as that.
I think it's important to understand motivating factors behind events like this, that way we can prepare and possibly prevent another one from happening.
If you just chalk Hitler up to being a crazy person, well then you do nothing to help prevent another million Jews from being slaughtered in the future.

There has to be a trigger (call it a motivation if you want).. you don't live a 64 year life free of violence and arrests (as far as we know at this point).. and then one day plan and execute the worst mass killing in US history. Saying a person who does this is "just crazy" is a cop out answer.

From what I gather she has been cleared of wrongdoing.
Thoughts and prayers to all the victims. Last I checked the reports said 50+ dead and 400+ in the hospital. Just an unimaginable tragedy. There's no doubt that many of the victims are critically wounded.
I've on the strip many times, including Mandalay Bay. I have some friends in Vegas right now (all safe) and another who got home last weekend. It's kind of surreal.

I can feel what States that have committed monstrosities feel.
If this had happened in 1930 Soviet Union, Stalin would have tortured the shooter’s family to death. Then he would have killed the shooter’s neighbors. He would have killed anyone who knew the shooter. Then he would have killed the whole town where the shooter was born, the town he lived in.
This is a travesty to human life. A tragedy of epic proportions. The reports about the shooter are too new and unsubstantiated for me to draw any type of conclusion at this time.
However, my thought, prayers and best wishes go out to the victims and their families. May God be with them all.
