Do you think people with the right intentions can do bad things or only good things?
Just look at the NFL players right intentions via bad thing by disrespecting flag, anthem and country. Exactly. People with good intentions can do bad things. Look at how the NFL disrespects our flag every game, by holding it horizontally, completely violating the code of conduct.

Also I'm not trying to kick anybody out of the country. I just said if things are so bad here maybe they should go where things are better. Like our founding fathers did? Like women fighting for their rights did? Like those who fought to end segregation did? Our history shows that people don't leave this country to make it better. They stay and fight to make it better. Even when people like you try to stop them.

That's the point here. The VAST majority of cops are good and honorable men doing nothing more than their job to protect and serve. Yet it's hard for people who haven't been harassed by the police to understand how that feels or with some people, to even believe that it happens Thanks. You can't know how much I appreciate this. Well, which is it Clem? If the VAST majority of cops are indeed honorable and trying their best to protect and serve, how can you turn around a make the claim of massive white oppression via the cops? Do you think people with the right intentions can do bad things or only good things? Well, if the alleged vast majority of cops are indeed honorable and doing their best to protect and serve, but are doing bad things on such a grand scale, they really aren't honorable and doing their best are they? I mean, the only way someone here could say I'm a good, decent, honorable cop, but then accuse me of 75% of my job as nothing but oppressing people of color and have that make sense is to claim that I'm just dumb or ignorant and really don't know what I'm doing. But rationale isn't even on the table because the claims being made by the protestors is that cops are intentionally murdering innocent people in the streets on a daily basis. I think the fact that yours is the only response I've gotten that challenges what I wrote speaks volumes.

The sad part is they only had a trickle of a player or two when the protest was about oppression from police and Trump said something now it's about Proving something to Trump and a huge turn out for that. Now it dwindling back to a couple players here and there the cause is losing steam unless Trump gets involved again.

Protests ensue. What would you expect, that the other 70% of the U.S. population to just sit idly and let it go?

What? Those guys can't even count that high. That gets a great big: Oh wait. Is this them?

Well, which is it Clem? If the VAST majority of cops are indeed honorable and trying their best to protect and serve, how can you turn around a make the claim of massive white oppression via the cops? I didn't.I thanked Pit for what he said, which was my only post in this entire thread. The rest of this was you projecting something onto me that I never said or thought. Here's where I am on this issue: Last Fri and Sat nights were the first Classics joints of the year. Custom dictates that we perform the Nat'l Anthem on opening night. All players stand except for us celli, because of how we play our instruments. Now, when that piece began, I had a 1st amendment choice; participate in the playing -or sit silently with my bow across my lap (roughly the equivalent of taking a knee). I chose to play, as did my stand partner. Now, here's where things get complicated for some. Though I made a conscious decision to participate, I don't have a problem with those who choose otherwise. It's not my place to impose my idea of patriotism or social advocacy on someone else. Why did I choose to play? It was the right thing for ME to do. Me and me alone. I don't represent a team or a movement. I don't follow someone else's marching orders. And I've chosen to approach this subject in discussions here and elsewhere. Those are my "now that I have your attention" moments. So here it is: there are times when I'm performing that piece and actually have flashbacks to the times when I was harassed by police. It was almost never in my own home town, because 1. they knew I was a law-abiding citizen 2. they didn't want to run afoul of My Pops (whom I would NEVER use as leverage, if I knew what was good for me). Nonetheless, I'd been on the receiving end of a few pretty sketchy, scary moments involving flashing lights/badges, and that montage flashing behind my eyes while hearing The Anthem plays out a fairly bitterly ironic scene for me. Think: the montage in "Good Morning Vietnam" that was accompanied by Louis Armstrong's cover of 'What a Wonderful World.' As I conclude one of those episodes, I sometimes look into the audience and wonder "How many of you have been instructed to grab some curb?' (Col's, OH)? How many of you have had your car tossed 'just on general suspicion?' (Ft. Lauderdale, FL) How many of you have been baited by some smirking azzhat who's obviously trying to goad you into forgetting The Talk, and veer off-script for just one moment? (Ft Wayne, IN) These moments of humiliation, defenselessness and terror brought to you courtesy of some local constabulary somewhere... because the population of good, honest police officers IS NOT YET 100%. I have proof. Until it is, some of these moments will continue to occur. As long as they do, some will choose to express their resistance in controversial ways. ________________ I can hold more than one thought in my head at a time. Sometimes, I can also remember all my 'Uncles in Blue' when I was growing up, and how safe they made me feel. How proud I was in 2nd grade when My Pops was the guest on career day, and rode up on that big B&W Harley 3-wheeler. How touched I was at his funeral when they handed Momz his flag, snapped a salute, and fired off the 21's. Dawgs think they know 'Taps?' They don't... unless they've heard it played for one of their own. As with most social issues for me/us, there is inherent conflict. It's almost never cut & dried. We can almost never experience something of a universal nature and feel 100% embraced by that universe. I'm not sure when or if that will ever change. I'm not certain it's even possible in this country. 'The American Experience' really is different for some Americans.

Budweiser considers ending their NFL sponsorship over protests — and they want to hear from you
In the wake of increased national anthem protests by NFL players, Anheuser-Busch is reconsidering its NFL sponsorship, likely because the protests are very unpopular among everyday Americans. Bud Light currently serves as the official beer of the NFL.
So the company set up a hotline for fans to call and give their thoughts about the protests and Anheuser-Busch’s sponsorship of the NFL. The number for the hotline is: 1-800-342-5283.
What does the hotline say? When a customer calls the number, they are greeted by a recorded voice who gives them the opportunity to voice their opinions about the protests.
“If you are calling with questions or comments about Anheuser-Busch’s sponsorship of the NFL, press one,” the voice says. “At Anheuser-Busch, we have a long heritage of supporting the nation’s armed forces, veterans and military dependents. The national anthem is a point of pride for our company and for the 1,100 veterans that we employ. Please feel free to share your feedback after the tone.”

I called the number and they asked me where I stood and if I was a Bud drinker.
I told them I can't drink Bud because it is terrible. It gives me a headache And as far as I am concerned it tastes like Anheuser's Bush!

why should i care that a water company is mulling over an advertisement pull? I can drink aquafina and get the same effect as budweiser.

Social activism, Dawgtalkers edition: What's the best cheap beer?
Cheap beer is here meant as being less than a dollar per 12 ounces.
At Budweiser price and widespread availability here in Ohio, it has to be Yuengling. Yuengling is actually pretty decent. I enjoy it and often reach for it instead of a microbrew or such.
Cheaper than than Bud/Miller/Coors/Yuengling... things start to get sketchy. I'm going to say PBR. It's basically a better and cheaper version of Budweiser... I'm not saying it's great.

Budweiser considers ending their NFL sponsorship over protests — and they want to hear from you Wasn't Budweiser one of the companies running all of those sappy "inclusive" commercials at the super bowl last year taking shots at the administrations stance on immigration? Now they are considering pulling sponsorship over flag protests? Looks like they need to make up their mind...

Danone drops Cam Newton as Oikos spokesperson amid sexism controversy-Danone dropped Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton. -Newton made a comment to a female reporter Wednesday that Danone called sexist and disparaging to all women. Newton smiled and said it was funny to hear Jourdan Rodrigue, a female reporter with The Charlotte Observer, ask a question about wide receiver Devin Funchess' routes during a press conference Wednesday. "It's funny to hear a female talk about routes. It's funny," Newton said. https://www.cnbc.com/2017/10/05/danone-d...ontroversy.htmlHow Dare He Say What He Thinks!!! Doesn't he know this is America! Oikos has just as much right to make this decision as the NFL owners have the right to let their players kneel. Murica!

Well it seems like I keep hearing a lot of excuses as to why they shouldn't. Shouldn't is different than can't... these discussions always get twisted sideways when somebody says they don't think somebody should do something and people respond with, it's their right to do it... I agree that they can, I don't think they should.

What do I care? I drink Yeungling, no matter how hard Haus tries to ruin them for me I'll take that as a challenge. http://money.cnn.com/2016/10/27/news/yuengling-beer-president-donald-trump/index.htmlDonald Trump doesn't drink alcohol, but that didn't stop the owner of Yuengling beer from endorsing him.
Richard "Dick" Yuengling Jr. threw his support to Trump this week. He even gave Eric Trump a tour of the popular brewery in Pottsville, Pennsylvania. Yuengling Jr. is a billionaire and head of the 187-year-old beer company, which his great-great grandfather founded.
"Our guys are behind your father. We need him in there," Yuengling Jr. told Eric Trump on Monday, according to The Reading Eagle. For the record, Yuengling was my go-to beer since long before I knew of Yuengling's political leanings. They should be releasing their Oktoberfest soon, if they haven't already. Grab a case and don't forget that ol' Haus recommended it to ya.
