Just saw you started this thread, Rocky.

Refs....feel free to delete the Indians continued thread.

To correct my last post, it was Torreyes that got picked off, not Gardner. My bad.

Pay Frankie whatever he wants. He's already good with the obvious notion he will be even better. Pay him, now.

THE CLEVELAND CURSE

Quote:
“Hey, Cleveland, watch this:

1. Your Cy Young Award winning pitcher goes 2 2/3rds innings, gives up 2 homers, 6 earned runs, shortest outing of the year.
2. Your clean-up hitter is injured and out in the first inning,
3. Your #3 & #4 hitters go 0 - 10 with 5 strike-outs,
4. You're down 5 runs after 5 innings.”

The Indians are a bit of a thorn in the side of the Yankees: (at least every 10 years)

Lets also not forget that the Yankees have suffered 3 of their 4 worst defeats at the hands of the Indians, including that 22-0 drubbing.

I'm biased as a NYY fan, but not biased enough to know the truth: the Tribe is a WAY better team IMO.

That doesn't mean the Yankees shouldn't have won last night; however, I CANNOT FATHOM why Girardi didn't challenge that play. It is ASININE that he didn't. Like, boggles my mind. (and I'm a Girardi supporter)

"First down inside the 10. A score here will put us in the Super Bowl. Cooper is far to the left as Njoku settles into the slot. Moore is flanked out wide to the right. Chubb and Ford are split in the backfield as Watson takes the snap ... Here we go."

I've said before, I really hope the FO and ownership realize what has been built here and need to pay like jacobs...the fans have responded by packing the Jake. You keep a team like this together, in Cleveland, you will never have to worry about fan support. The best thing I like about this team is they are so even keeled, I know this may surprise some, but I'm mecurial and emotional during and Cleveland game..lol. I do love these teams though sometimes my posting doesn't quite reflect that.. But yeah Tito is easily the best skipper of any team we've ever had in any sport for cleveland. The dude just gets it..the staff he has put together can adjust to anything. I think priority is getting our young core locked up. We need to get Miller wrapped up as well

I have read that the Indians have offered Frankie a deal in the neighborhood of $300 million, buying some of his arbitration years, and he declined. That worries me .... except that the Indians control him for the next 4 years.

Interesting, I had only heard of the $100 millon offer before spring training. Me personally I would hand him a blank check and tell him to fill it out.

Emotionally drained.

So glad they are off today. I need today to recover.

NY press is crucifying Girardi. Gotta love that.

Nothing tops the drama of post season baseball.

On the cliff's edge with every pitch.

Damn I love this.

You're right, it was $100 million. It would still have obliterated the norms for such a young player. The Tribe does control him through 2021 though.

Did you notice?

If the Tribe gets past the Yankees, they begin the American League Championship Series on Friday the 13th.

Hey did you know Columbus sits atop the Metropolitan Division?

They are crucifying him.

That bottom of the 6th was amazing.

Two men on, two out

The erroneous Hit By Pitch to Chisenhall to load the bases that should have been the third out.

Girardi's blunder to not challenge, despite Yankee catcher Sanchez's protests that it was a caught third strike foul tip.

The grand-slam homer by Lindor - that hit the foul pole!

Great.

So the Indians have placed their fans in a no-win situation.

If the Tribe wins today, there’s not another Indians game until Friday.

That’s ridiculous. The longest stretch without an Indians game since February.

And if they lose, that’s worse.

I just can’t deal with this right now. I can't go with that type of withdrawal.

Eh.. I guess I’ll root for an Indians win.

But I won’t like it.

Is the ALCS at least ganna have more than one game on TV?

Am I the only one that pronounces hyperbole "Hyper-bowl" instead of "hy-per-bo-le"?

I can't tell - the MLB schedule says "FOX / FS1". I don't know if that means the games are on both channels, alternating between the two, or strictly arbitrary based on how much MLB and FOX want to suck every last dime out of their post-season. FOX appears to be using the post-season to leverage their FS1 into cable prominence, like ESPN.

Pathetic offense so far. I would just stand up there and make Tanaka get the ball up. He’d have 5 walks right now if they’d lay off that garbage

Brantley looks like he couldn’t care less. Just there. He’s a DH who is 0-fer the series. I’d like to think there’s a better option there. Dude just looks like he doesn’t even care
