Actually firing HUE and getting a "REBUILD" once again pretty much eliminates us from a Playoff run. Only way we do make a run is stay the course! Have another great draft and sign some good starting FA's. jmho

I don't agree much with Bruce Drennan, God Bless his him, but he says he has seen absolutely nothing to indicate Hue is the guy. This was my thought last year at 0-5 and continues to this day. I see nothing. I don't know what you people are seeing but at least it's positive thinking. I would be extremely excited to get a young talented offensive minded coach in here like Todd Downing or Matt Hagy of the Chiefs. I hope Jimmy is thinking the same!!

And then, who is next in line behind them when they don't make the playoffs after one year, then lose their opening games when the schedule makers give you your entire division in the 3 of the first 4 weeks? I am so sick and tired of the "start over" argument. There is no way to get traction with constant turn over.

Sean McVay for the Rams is a good example. He just turned 31 and is a no nonsense, offensive minded coach who knows how to put points on the board. Hue seems to be about Hue! It's like he's got this inferiority issue by not having an OC. I've seen nothing from Hue with all due respect!!!

To be fair, I'm not sure McVay is applicable to Cleveland. The reason a coaching position was open with the Rams is because Jeff Fisher was given years to build, and they accomplished that, but the team was underachieving - and it wasn't just due to Goff struggling as a rookie.
McVay was able to come in, continue to add talent (Really only the offense needed some), and get the ball rolling. Ultimately, he's inheriting a very strong team with a lot of talent and experience playing together - and, to their credit, they've added to great talent. Sammy Watkins was a huge get.
With Hue, he's 20 games in to an extensive rebuild that saw almost every single veteran player sent packing. The leap you expect to see in year two was thrown off further when he was given a rookie QB (Known to be in need of development), the front office let his best receiver walk and the majority of the talent in the draft went to the defense - our early picks on offense were Njoku and Kizer, both very raw and both younger than most rookies; they're still kids - Kizer is like two years younger than Trubisky.
I think if we all objectively watch the film, there have been a lot of plays there to be made. Hue Jackson's offense is there, but the players aren't capitalizing on those plays. Some of that undoubtedly falls on Hue's shoulders, but he's in a very different situation to that which we're seeing McVay in.
I'd like to see the coaching staff be given this season and next. Develop this talent, make the most of the staggering quantity of cap space and 2018 draft selections, and see what we look like in year three.
I don't think the coaches are as much a problem as our general inexperience.

I don't think the coaches are as much a problem as our general inexperience. I appreciate your opinion and it is very good but the Rams have the 2nd youngest NFL roster. That team is on fire because of the coach. He knows how to put points on the board with creative, unpredictable playcalling. Goff is still a rookie to me. They beat up the Cowboys last week. If Hue was coaching the Rams, I doubt very much you would see the same thing. It's a mind set. I don't think Hue has it going all the way back to the beginnig of last year!!!

Browns VP upbeat, says team committed to becoming playoff contender http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/20915...ayoff-team-goalBEREA, Ohio -- An 0-4 start does not mean the Cleveland Browns cannot win in 2017, but the team remains firmly committed to a long-term rebuild with youth, said vice president of football operations Sashi Brown on Wednesday. "We're committed to continuing to work toward building this roster and becoming a perennial playoff team, and we're on the way toward that," Brown said. Brown did his best to project confidence and belief, but he had to do so against the backdrop of an 0-4 start this season and an overall 1-19 record since he and Hue Jackson took over the team before the start of the 2016 season. Brown said he and Jackson continue to work well together, but admitted the teams' roster build is not complete "by any stretch." "And I don't know if any team's ever is," Brown said. "But we certainly have made some progress on the field. We're seeing that with some of the young guys that are playing and making plays for us." In explaining where the Browns are as a team in what owner Jimmy Haslam called a "multiyear rebuild," Brown said the team would "not overreact to four games" but would measure progress incrementally. "We are always going to be focused on the underlying progress, how some of our players are coming together, what those losses look like," Brown said. Since an overtime win in Baltimore early in the 2015 season, the Browns have gone 2-29, which matches the worst 31-game stretch in NFL history, according to Elias Sports Bureau. The way the 2015 team ended -- 10 losses in 11 games -- led to Haslam rebuilding his front office behind Brown choosing players and Jackson handling the team on the field. "Growth and development of a roster is not going to happen overnight," Brown said. "I think you've seen more than one team try that unsuccessfully. We're committed. "As I told you from Day 1, we're not going to stray just because we have some challenges early on or face some adversity early on." New York Jets quarterback Josh McCown, who spent the previous two seasons in Cleveland, said on a Tuesday conference call that he doesn't think it's fair to judge the coach or players until three or four years have passed in this system. "I guess I look at it like I've remodeled a house before and I guess I judged the speed of the remodel on how much I asked him to do, how far I asked him to take it back," McCown said. "Are you taking it down to the foundation? Are you taking it down to the studs? Are you just knocking a wall out? "I guess the same applies here, how much did you really kind of reset? If you view that, if it was a hard reset, then if you really kind of stripped everything away, it's hard to say anything other than three years to me before you really can start to begin to evaluate where you're at." He added that the Browns have to be steadfast in sticking with the approach that long as well. "If you don't understand that and you think that all of a sudden it's Week 9 of Year 2 we should snap our fingers and see a big improvement, I think that's a wrong mindset," McCown said. "I think you're going to be disappointed and then this process is going to be inevitable. You're going to keep rolling over and keep rolling over."

I don't like the plan. I don't think you need to tear a team down to the studs to rebuild it, especially when we have plenty of cash. We let go of many serviceable players. Do we have proof somewhere that this is the type of plan that works best in the NFL when rebuilding. I think it's too unpredictable and time consuming. I can't think of another team who has done this successfully. I can think of about 20 players I would have kept. We will find out. If we are 6-10 in 2018 and Watson, tribisky, wentz, Carr and Goff take their teams to the playoffs. WOW!

Haha Mourgrym predicted 8 and 8 this year Ya What a Bill of Goods He was sold! And I was sold! What a bunch of Lies if anybody believed this team was going to win any games this year! They haven't been out of last place in 3 years! Haven't been really out of 32nd place in the entire NFL in 3 years. HOW Many years must we put up with this!
Can Deshaun Watson play better for the Browns, than Baker Mayfield would have? ... Now the Games count.

Everybody and their MOTHER knew that Hogan was better than Kizer even in the preseason and it takes Hue forever to figure this out. What? This guy is still the coach of the Cleveland Browns? It should be 0-21 because of a fluke missed field goal. How can a guy in the NFL retain a job with that record. The play calling is ATROCIOUS! I'm so disgusted with Sashi. This is all really ugly right now. I would feel so much better about the organization if they would just fire Hue and Sashi!!!!!!! Plus, If you kneel, you are fined the game paycheck and you don't play!!!!

There is no level of sucking we haven't seen; in fact, I'm pretty sure we hold the patents on a few levels of sucking NOBODY had seen until the past few years.

If you want to take a shot at making the playoffs in 2018, you have to get rid of Jackson and Sashi real soon. Then you can't listen to all the bashing from all the left wing sports figures who have been bashing the Browns for 18 years. You assign a interim coach while you research and find a real coach. You let Hogan develop and then you build the team until you find a QB in the draft. You utilize all the draft picks we have coming to us in 2018. When we land a real coach, you will see an improvement right away. The team isn't as bad as Hue makes us look. We can win here soon, but not with this regime. Yes we can win 4-5 more games if we get rid of Hue. This is just reality and truth and if that hurts, I can't help that! Go Browns!

I suspect that we'll use our early draft picks next year on 2 WR, 2 CB, and an OT. That will be more important than changing coaches. Sam Darnold, 2wrs 2 cbs ot and a rb..Go Browns. Todd Downing for head coach. Go Browns!! I am drinking ^that^ Kool-Aid if it helps get me through this season! I don't know if we'll be in the playoffs, but with better players at the above-mentioned positions? We might actually be competitive... I'm liking it. ...Just don't blow it in the draft. Again.

I texted this to a buddy yesterday:
In January of 1988, had I done something else that afternoon instead of watching Cleveland play Denver - or had the power gone out, or the tv went on the blink, I would not be a Browns fan and would have been saved from a lot of misery
