Donald Trump Challenges Rex Tillerson to an IQ Test: “I Can Tell You Who is Going to Win"

Graham Lanktree, Newsweek
October 10, 2017

President Donald Trump is challenging his Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to an compare IQs nearly a week after reports Tillerson called his boss a moron.

Trump said after NBC news reported the story that he thought it was “fake news.”

Yet in a new interview with Forbes magazine published Tuesday, Trump said that if Tillerson “did that, I guess we'll have to compare IQ tests. And I can tell you who is going to win.”

U.S. President Donald Trump has challenged Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to compare IQ tests. Carlos Barria/Reuters

The original story that alleged Tillerson called Trump a moron was published by NBC News October 4. It followed a weekend where Trump appeared to undercut Tillerson’s approach to diplomacy with North Korea over its intensifying nuclear weapons program.

After meeting with Chinese officials in Beijing September 30, Tillerson said during a press conference that America hoped to ease tensions with Kim Jong Un’s regime “through talks.”

Trump shot back the following day in a tweet that Tillerson “is wasting his time trying to negotiate with Little Rocket Man,” a nickname the president gave to the North Korean dictator.

After the story about Tillerson insulting the president broke, Republican Senator Bob Corker, Chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, came to the secretary of state’s defense. Tillerson, Corker said, “is in a very frustrating place” where “he ends up not being supported in a way I hope a secretary of state would be supported.”

When Trump was asked by Forbes about whether his comments undercut his chief diplomat, he said he tweeted because Tillerson “was wasting his time.”

“I'm not undermining,” Trump said. “I think I'm actually strengthening authority.”

It’s not clear who is smarter without the IQ tests to prove it. Tillerson led America’s leading oil and gas company ExxonMobil for nearly a decade after rising through the ranks after graduating as an engineer in 1975 from the University of Texas at Austin. The company had revenue of $218.6 billion in 2016.

Trump, on the other hand, owns the Trump Organization, which he has built himself and is valued at $9.5 billion. He graduated with a degree in economics in 1968 from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

The president has often boasted about how smart he is. “I went to the Wharton School of Business,” he said during a 2015 rally Phoenix, Arizona, soon after announcing his candidacy. "I’m, like, a really smart person."

Here’s my take.
Maybe he thinks it’s a writing test...
“I know what an ‘I’ is. Sometimes it’s just a tall line. Sometimes it’s shorter and has a dot over it. A small dot. A very small dot. Some say the smallest. Other times it’s tall and has a little line over it, AND under it. Both. Two lines. Very straight lines. I like those lines. I really do. Don’t you all like those lines? Really, really great those lines.
Now Q’s. Wow. Who doesn’t like a Q. Am I right? Really great letter that Q. It’s round. Like an O. You all know O’s. Round. Very round. Then there’s that little line in it. Who put that there? Great stuff that line. Now when it’s a small Q it’s like a ‘g’ only backwards. G’s are great aren’t they. We all like G’s. Very good letter the G. Very very good....”

Floyd mayweather probably has a higher IQ than Trump, and he can’t even read.

Here is our President in yet another conflict, showing how smart he is:

Trump escalates feud with Corker

By Dan Merica, CNN

President Donald Trump's public feud with a top Republican on Capitol Hill has entered the name-calling phase.

Sen. Bob Corker, the retiring Republican chair of the Senate foreign relations committee, has engaged in a heated back-and-forth with Trump for days now, including in an interview with The New York Times where he said that he feared Trump was steering the nation "on the path to World War III."

The President, a politician whose mantra has long been to hit back harder than someone hits him, is now treating Corker like he did his primary opponents: By giving him a nickname.

"The Failing @nytimes set Liddle' Bob Corker up by recording his conversation," Trump tweeted on Tuesday. "Was made to sound a fool, and that's what I am dealing with!"

Trump labeling Corker "liddle" is a throwback to the 2016 campaign, when he gave Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Florida, then a presidential candidate himself, the same moniker.

"I'm the writer," Trump told New York magazine in 2016. "Let me start with Little Marco. He just looked like Little Marco to me. And it's not Little. It's Liddle. L-I-D-D-L-E. And it's not L-Y-I-N-G Ted Cruz. It's L-Y-I-N apostrophe. Ted's a liar, so that was easy."

The feud between Corker and Trump had escalated this weekend when the President tweeted that the outgoing senator "begged" for his endorsement before declining to run for re-election.

"He also wanted to be Secretary of State, I said 'NO THANKS.' He is also largely responsible for the horrendous Iran Deal," Trump tweeted. "Hence, I would fully expect Corker to be a negative voice and stand in the way of our great agenda. Didn't have the guts to run!"

Todd Womack, Corker's chief of staff, denied the claim later in the day.

"The President called Senator Corker on Monday afternoon and asked him to reconsider his decision not to seek re-election and reaffirmed that he would have endorsed him, as he has said many times," Womack said in a statement.

Corker, in the New York Times interview, said that Trump is acting "like he's doing 'The Apprentice' or something," and added that he could set the nation "on the path to World War III."

The comment comes a week after Corker jabbed Trump, stating that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Defense Secretary James Mattis and White House Chief of Staff John Kelly "help separate our country from chaos."

The clash between Corker and Trump highlights fraying relations between the President and the men and women in Congress who the White House needs to deliver on the agenda Trump ran on. In response to Corker's comments, Steve Bannon, Trump's former chief strategist, called on the senator to resign.

"If Bob Corker has any honor, any decency, he should resign immediately," Bannon said in an interview with Fox News' Sean Hannity on Monday night.

Yet Obama's approval ratings lit up the sky while Trump's approval ratings hide in the dumpster fire out back. Enjoy.

The only way he can accomplish that is to outlaw all history books.

I cannot relate to pretty much anything regarding Democrats or Republicans at this point and have NO horse in that race, but, Dear God, this man would be very hard for me to defend. While I do agree the mainstream media is very much out to get him, he just begs to be ridiculed.

This is exactly why I support him, he is completely controversial.

He has become President of a Country that is split down the middle with people talking Race war and Civil war with plenty of anger to go around.

He forces every issue, he brings it to the top. He has everyone discussing and yelling about all the issues that were stewing all around this Nation.

You mentioned the Bias Press, he has called them out.
Violence on our streets by racists and Nazis and Left wing violent radicals, he called them out.

Kneeling during the anthem became his cause for calling out a lack of respect for America and all it stands for.

The North Koreans and their threats, he calls them out.
NATO not paying its share of mutual defense, he calls them out.

Supporters of ISIS and Iran's support of terrorism, open borders flooding Europe with immigrants and rapes and crime, called out.

Sanctuary cities.
Shootings in our Cities.
Waste and corruption in the Washington swamp.

All these things are on the American tongue these days as we argue and fight and discuss and face our problems.

No more mumbling under your breath about important issues facing us as Citizens because we have all been called out.

And I will add that in a time where colleges and universities and city governments work to shut down Free Speech, Trump has forced us to speak Freely.

Almost every subject we argue about on this Political Board begins with something Trump has brought to the top, agree or disagree, it is then on!

Yeah, it's almost like political exposure is a byproduct of being the President. I'm glad you want your President to have the same goals as a troll on an internet forum.

Conservative groups demand McConnell step down, call him a 'failure'

https://www.yahoo.com/finance/news/conservative-groups-demand-mcconnell-step-165441502.html

i was telling my homeboy the other day that i actually feel bad for mitch. dude is trying to keep the party together, but ever since Boehner left, the part has been in complete shambles, and Trump winning didn't help one bit.

it's every man for himself in GOP land.

imma be real, bro. i didn't see it coming at all.

i expected the GOP to be lock step and pass stuff back to back, and while it most likely would've been an epic disaster, at least they would've kept their campaign promise? lol i dunno.

but man. the dems are broken but at least they still got each others backs. the GOP is tearing themselves apart. every week there's a new republican beefing with Trump.

and the common denominator is Trump.

i dunno bro. is this what government looks like when the people in power went in without the backing of the majority of Americans?

As soon as the first R&R for the ACA stumbled, I could start to see the fault lines. Surprising senators came in and backed out for their own reasons. It was fascinating. There never was consensus, even as deadline after deadline came and went. After that, I had no reason to expect different results, even with subsequent efforts. Nothing was resolved after the first misstep, so similar results were to be expected after that.

Dawg... they tried to do this ~60 other times. When Obama was Boss...

The one thing that DID surprise me was *45's lack of passion during the health care repeal buildup. Absentee, for the most part. I mean, Dude had a chance to erase a landmark policy whose nickname bore the moniker of his arch nemesis... and he phoned it in, from start to finish.

A handful of tepid tweets when he absolutely had to, a visit or two to the Hill- and not much more. Mitch&Paul had to tote ALL THE WEIGHT themselves.

Apparent disinterest turned *45 from the GOP's 'bully pulpit ally' into an anchor. *45's constant and continual PettyWars with his own natural political allies have transformed him from anchor to albatross. He adds layers of unnecessary drama and fog on issues that demand clarity and decisiveness to navigate.

In short, Mr. Asterisk Forty-Five is a toddler, lurching his way into The Unknown, while the 'adults in the room' spend half of their time protecting him from sophisticated coordinated attacks from without, while also spending the other half of their time protecting the world from him.

Yes. And it looks just like this, every single time. Most recent major example: the Donk's handling of the ACA. Their handling of it set the stage for ~60 failed GOP attempts to overturn it. Also set the stage for the 2010 mid terms, and the huge numbers shift that ensued. Neither side is immune. Ever. No matter how 'slam-dunk' the landscape looks 24 hours after Election Day.

GOP will squander a numbers advantage just like the Dems, because both parties always do. It's how they always roll they game. Flip sides of the same tone-deaf coin.

And by the way, I'm not nearly as confident as you that the Donks are in much better shape. Bernie Bros are still beefing, far left is raising hell, and now there's a growing movement to bump out Pelosi, Hoyer and all the other senior citizens... so they're in a state of flux, as well.

Think of it this way, Swish: Second-decade 21st c. problems are being addressed by folks who were born during WWII. In both parties.

I really don't mind seeing all this come to pass. It's been long overdue.

Get ready... 'cause from here on out, spit's gonna start happening fast.

McConnell is head of the Senate.
Senate ain't getting it done.
Cut off the head and get a new one.

And to the Democrats I say
