Good.

I've seen posts on here that you need to take a class - or SHOULD take a class, before you ever buy any gun.

Good idea..........for those that don't have a parent that knows how to handle a gun. How to store a gun. How to aim a gun. Knowing the laws on self defense, etc.

It doesn't always take a "class". There are some parents out there that have taught their kids, and taught them well.

Here’s Everything Else the Dianne Feinstein Bump Stock Ban Would Outlaw

by AWR Hawkins

9 Oct 2017

While Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) presents her latest piece of gun control legislation as narrowly focused on bump stocks, the reality is that the language of the bill includes bans on other firearm accessories too.

This means those who have worried that Feinstein’s bill would create slippery slope—leading to the passage of more bans—need to understand that her bill is the slippery slope; it contains all the future bans in it already.

On October 8, Breitbart News reported that Feinstein admitted no law would have stopped the Vegas attacker. She then said “we need a law” to ban bump stocks, and described her bill as a simple piece of two-page legislation “written in clean English” and narrowly focused on bumps stocks.

However, the language of her bill is anything but narrow. In fact, the bill—the Automatic Gunfire Prevention Act—bans any “accessory that is designed or functions to accelerate the rate of fire of a semiautomatic rifle but not convert the semiautomatic rifle into a machine gun.” This language is very crucial because in it goes after bump stocks for being exactly what the ATF described—an accessory, not a conversion device.

It is already illegal to convert a semiautomatic into an automatic and Feinstein’s bill is way for leftists to make it illegal to add an accessory that allows the gun to fire rapidly without being converted to automatic.

In other words, a semiautomatic firearm with a bump stock is still a semiautomatic firearm; it only fires one round per each pull of the trigger, period. Yet Feinstein wants to ban them and—because she has to focus her ban on accessories—it means the ban is broad enough that it already includes numerous other devices that do not convert semiautomatics into automatics either. Her legislation explicitly lists “a trigger crank” as something that would be banned as well.

Did the Vegas attacker use a trigger crank? No, he did not. Yet it would be banned because Feinstein wants to ban any accessory that allows the gun owner to “accelerate the rate of fire of a semiautomatic rifle but not convert the semiautomatic rifle into a machine gun.”

The language of her bill would include bans on other devices, bans that are only implicit at this point. It would simply come down to a bureaucrat deciding the threshold at which semiautomatics are being fired too fast and any accessory that allowed a gun owner to meet that threshold would be banned.

Feinstein’s bill currently has 38 co-sponsors, all of whom are Democrat. But numerous Republicans—including House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.), Rep. Bill Flores (R-TX), Rep. Mark Meadows (R-NC), Senators John Cornyn (R-TX), Lindsey Graham (R-SC), and Marco Rubio (R-FL)—have voiced openness to gun control via bump stock legislation and/or hearings on such legislation.

Quit whining! It's part of the process you voted for and elected in. The first amendment is attacked and our freedom of speech and our rights for peaceful protest are to be limited. And now your beloved second amendment gun rights are being attacked. Get used to it! After all people like you voted for an authoritarian leader and now you got it. Enjoy.

PS... The book burning rallies should begin around the Christmas holidays.

So you have no problem with shutting down free speech, or attacking the constitution based by your quote above. Sad, sad day that anti American values are heralded by the left.

he is going to say about the nfl protest, he does not realize the difference between the freedom of speech and working for an employer and having consequences for said speech.

Take away healthcare. take away the freedom of speech, take our away rights to bare arms. You all voted for it. Stop whining Just Enjoy it.

Which is funny, because the anti-nfl people want to indirectly limited freedom of speech by having nfl owners make a rule against protesting the anthem.

Just like how the anti-abortion people have to indirectly make abortion illegal by making stupid policies such as hallway width size.

But now that the other side wants to indirectly limit something YOU believe in, now it’s a problem.

And around and around we go.

if an employer doesn't allow an employee to do something, that is not limiting their freedom of speech. They are still free to do it, they just may lose their job. Freedom of speech does not exclude consequences. Whats so hard to follow? Freedom of speech only means you cant go to jail for speaking or protesting.

You lost me on that one, not sure what your talking about. But the argument is that the baby should have some type of rights. No need to argue this point here as not the right thread, just pointing out the argument.

I am on record on this board of saying the ban was fine, but like everything the dems do it has to be about more, and not the issue at hand. This was a great opportunity to come together in the face of a tragedy and get something done that both sides for the most part would agree on. But of course that wench wants to play games and politics and spit in the face of that.

Sorry, you keep bringing up other issues instead of the ONE at hand. Adults take things issue and issue, instead of "well last year you said this or did this so we are now doing this". Its time to start putting separate issues aside and working at the one at hand. This was low form the left, plain and simple.

Your boys are in charge on capitol hill. There is nothing the dem's can do to stop your boys from doing what they want. If they want gun control measures adopted they'll get it. If they don't they won't adopt any gun control measures. It's on your conservative boys in DC not the Dems. It's what you voted for. Now you whine about it when your homies do something you disagree with. rofl

You are so incoherent sometimes its scary. You realize both sides were for banning the stocks right? then the left wants to play games and mess up a win/win. And you wonder why 1200 seats and counting have been lost by the left. . . . . . they don't know whats good for them even when it hits them in the face.

How adorable, but whining about the dem's gets you no where. It just doesn't matter what the dems say or do. It's your homies who are in charge and they can do anything they want. It's not the dems in the way, it's your boys who are holding up the process. They must get out of their own way first. Enjoy. It's what you voted for.

You do realize that the bills are written by those that sponsor the bill, correct?

Intoducing for The Cleveland Browns, Quarterback Deshawn "The Predator" Watson. He will also be the one to choose your next head coach.

Yes. And a majority vote is required to pass it thru the house.

Oh I just pointed out the correlations. You’re the one who mentioned the protest in this thread. I simply responded.

Honestly I don’t really care if they ban all accessories to weapons and leave you guys with just a stock rifle. Your right to own a weapon won’t be restricted, but accessories are not weapons.

Oh well, not my problem.

I don't recall bringing it up, maybe I did. Too lazy to go back. But I was just pointing out the correlation as well. It goes both ways in that aspect, and both sides only look at their way.

And honestly, I don't care if they don't ban anything, and let people keep everything they want, but I would ASSume you would not like that.

My opinion, is if they actually would have just let this be a standalone bill, which is how it should have been, it would have went through with flying colors. But they want to play games on the left, and now there may be a fight.

Is it just me or do others find it disturbing that people in this country get so passionate when it comes to defending gun rights and being able to own killing machines. Yet, those same people are "insulted" and accuse others of being "unpatriotic" and "disrespectful" when some choose to speak out against institutional racism and hold peaceful protests.

That’s because the NRA looks like a klan rally.

The very thing they supported in Charlottesville because of free speech. They defend them but won’t defend the non racist. We all know why.

So, you say it again.

YOUR weekend entertainment is being sacrificed so you want to suppress people's 1st amendment right to speak out about basic human rights. However, when tens of thousands of people get killed by guns annually you still defend the 2nd amendment.

Interesting.

well for one I haven't.

second, showing respect to the national anthem is completely different than a constitutional right to bear arms.

no one is saying they don't have the right to protest, they just disagree with doing so.

your side is saying we don't have the right to bear arms anymore. BIG DIFFERENCE pal.

so anyone in the NRA is a klan member....wow, whay to generalize, stereotype, and be a racist. Funny, all the fingers you point about racism on here, and the only one every spewing hate towards a race is you towards white people.

HA! I guarantee you there are more abortions by the left then gun related killings, but lets talk about respecting life. Do you realize most killings w/ firearms are from democrats - so who respects life? You are vastly misinformed. Your comment just bolsters the right lol.

Maybe if you dems didn't kill people everyday, there would be less people on the right that need to defend themselves w/ weapons willynilly

Clearly the adults are not having a conversation as they want to silence those who have brought the conversation to the nation because it is ruining their weekend entertainment.

They also want to silence those who want to discuss guns in fear that they can no longer buy their semi or their bump stock.

Sounds like a child to me.

Seeing as you have no idea what your talking about (Semi's) are completely legal to purchase, and always will be as 90% of the guns on the market are semi auto. Maybe if you want to discuss something, you should learn about what you are discussing, child.
