Yesterday late morning on Sirius Radio's Moving the Chains these 2 were discussing the Pitt Browns' game and several callers chimed in on Pitt's dominance especially over the last 5 years.

Carl Banks stated he had a feeling the Browns would upset the Steelers and T. Rock, as Tim Ryan calls himself, went nuts. He stated no way a Brown's team this year beats the Steelers due to Ben Roths experience and comeback year. The callers began to pile on the Browns and Carl Banks.

While I understand we must win the rivalry games to get respect this crap has gone on too long. The Steelers are counting on their past to carry them thru this season and I believe that an 8-8 season will shut them up.

The Steeler faithful are everywhere on Sirius NFL Radio. They call in like crazy. It bugs me that there aren't more Browns fans calling in. I have a couple times and it's worth the wait.

That said, only time will tell. No matter what transpires in camp and the preseason, anybody who thinks the Steelers are in for a cake walk victory week 1 is brain damaged.

Now let's just focus on getting these draft picks signed and camp getting here.

There will be a lot of long rides for Steelers fans when they leave Cleveland Browns Stadium b/c the Browns will win their first game...

Does anyone remember how much energy the Browns came out with last year against the Saints?? THE SAINTS!!! Now imagine how hyped up they will be against their division rival!!! Its going to be crazy!! Can't wait...

Uhhh, I don't want to be a Debbie Downer, but I don't care how much energy the Browns appeared to have before that Saints game. If they had energy, it wasn't in their favor. They took the game for granted and blew it.

got to agree here, I kinda thought the Browns looked pretty dazed and confussed in that first game against the Saints.

I hope we look ALOT better in our first game this year.

We do not, cannot match up against the steelers talent on boths sides of the ball.

We have to have great game management and key coaching desicions.....

I'm tired of losing, and tired of losing to the Steelers.
I want to beat them so badly in Week 1.

If we win that opening game....8-8 is a real possibility.

Lose and we can just about stick a fork in the team.

This team is building...and right now we are a bit frail when it comes to a winning mind-set. But as a young team, 1 win goes a long way towards setting the tone.

Being our natural rival, at home, in division....we have to win.

Plain as that.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.

I couldn't agree more. I thought the same thing last year before the opener against the Saints. That game set the tone for the season and I think it won't be any different this year.

I expect us to be 1-2 after week 3 but if we somehow are able to make it to week 4 with a 2-1 record then we might really have a shot at a winning record this year. Playoffs? That might still be one year away... With the parity in the NFL right now teams can go a LONG way off momentum (See 2006 Saints). I am not saying that we are good enough to have a year like the Saints did last year (they are in the NFC after all) but if we can gain some momentum in the first couple of weeks we are going to suprise some people.

Don't get too worked up Ralphie,,, it doesn't matter what these guys say, either pro or con Cleveland..

Not one of them has a Crystal Ball and none of them, at least to my knowledge, has the ability to see the future.

So all they are doing is stirring up the masses.. Don't get caught up in the bull,, and that's all it is.

The only players I saw fired up for the Saints game were Winslow and Edwards. Everyone else looked as if it were just another game.

Tim Ryan has ridden the steeler's bandwagon ever since i started listening. He's always quick to down the browns and push up the steelers. I've been thinking he was a steeler's fan when he was young.

IMO, i believe if the boys take this seriously, they can play on par with the steelers.

I am counting on a seriously physical brand of football from the new Cleveland Browns. Run it at their strength and have them looking confused.
Ding old Ben Roth. a couple of times early and wait to see how he reacts to more pressure up the gut.
If we beat them intensity wise and hit them hard we won't have to worry about the outcome.

I agree that the defense will be more physical, but I'm not going to say if we win or lose. Like I said in another post I'm not going to make any predictions untill training camp starts.

Now just holdonaminnit, Sparky!

I could see this team easily absorbing a hard-fought, well-played game that ends in a narrow loss and coming back strong for Game 2. Young teams can be frail, true- but it's hard to believe that this (or any other NFL team, for that matter) would just throw in the towel for the entire season after just 60 minutes of football.

Things looked pretty ***tty for us in '02 when we reached the halfway point of the season, and look what happened- 9-7 and a playoff berth... and that team had more character flaws, deficiencies and bad actors than this one does.

I do understand your point, and can see why you made it, but don't be so quick to slap on the ol' brown-colored shades, 'Peen...

...at least wait until after Game 3.

Actually I prefer to think about the BMore game when from play 1 Terrelle Smith went right after Ray Ray....We then played a 4-4 D and stopped Jamal Lewis.....

Of course different team different coach etc....but I would much rather remember that game than the Saints game....LOL

I believe he is referring to a season opener when we DID beat the Ravens. The season of Garcia and rookie Winslow getting hurt in Dallas.

We need a big game from our offense, the reason we lost the first game against the Steelers was because our offense was so horrendous (Braylon was the only one who showed up.) that our defense was on the field for what seemed like an eternity in the second half.

Winslow also needs to step it up against Pittsburgh, he didn't do much last year against them...

I hope our QB whoever it is comes ready, Cleveland needs this game considering we play 3 divisional games in our first four games.

The difference between the best team and the worst team in the NFL is not that much. Compared to the Talent difference between say Michigan/Ohio State and Indiana/Northwestern it's very small. Any team can beat any other team any given week during the regular season. We have a really great shot at winning this game with it being week 1 at home and against our biggest rivals. It's not easy to win on the road, and I don't like what Bruce Arians is doing with that offense if I'm a Stooler fan. They need to run more, not pass more, that's why they sucked last year.

Our offense should do better this year with a much improved offensive line and a healthy batch of receivers. Kellen probably won't get shut down like he did either since Joey Porter is gone and James Harrison will be covering him mostly. I can't wait for 9/9.

Haha that brought the second biggest grin to my face of the entire season (#1 was a tie between when K2 was announced and when K2 caught his first TD) I made sure to get Browns Dolphins tickets just so I can watch K2 run porter over again.

Yesterday the show had Ryan and Jim Miller rating the AFC North's QB. Of course we were rated in 4th position here also....probably right also.

The fun started after both Ryan and Miller ranked Carson Palmer as a better QB over Ben Roth. A Squeeler fan called in and went nuts claiming Ben is the 4th best QB in football and that Ryan favors USC players over anyone else...he was having a meltdown.
